This man is like Captain Jack Sparrow in real life.
No. That would be Al jourgenson , the actual inspiration for jack sparrow. Vedders just a tosser.
@@oopsydaizi3s824 Why don’t you TOSS yourself out my mentions fam 😢
But a bit shorter
Holy hell. So true. 😂
That actually goes to Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones, but it's not that far from the truth. Most rock stars since Keith Richards have just been LARPing as Keith Richards to a certain degree. ED rules
“Somebody throw up a gun so I can shoot you all……….I meant that with love” man you just can’t hate Eddie Vedder! 😂😂
The "I can't remember..." after blanking out on the lyrics to Alive is incredible.
Only surviving grunge singer today. Legend.
Um Gavin Rossdale. Bush. Nuff said.
Grunge isn’t even a real thing, that was just a term made up by the media to describe a music scene from Seattle. It’s called alternative rock. What these bands do is a lot more than just whatever “grunge” is supposed to be.
Wow.
@@AndI0td763 It's been so long it doesn't really matter at this point. Maybe at the time it was a battle worth fighting. There's lots of forms of and subcultures within alt rock and grunge is one of them. Everyone knows what it means by now.
From the big four atleast. Kurt passed away in 94, Layne in 02 and Chris in 2017. all in diffrent decades.
Of course Eddie has an axe behind the bar for cutting pickles, or limes, or chopping holes in the floor so he can escape. An axe could always come in handy when you're Eddie Vedder.
😂😂😂
Eddie definitely had a "drink all the wine" period.
Shoe the shoeless. 😂
Just wanted to shout out whoever put this together. Rare footage.
Indio, CA. 1993. Best show I've seen.
@@Cagney68 Best show? They disrespected Pearl Jam more than anything with the constant throwing of shit.
@johntsunami9368 Didn't affect the band.
When I was 18 in 1992 he was a young lead singer in a band that made a large percentage of alternative young men grow their hair, dress with lumberjack blouses, torn jeans and army boots.
The band shirts of that era where cool too. A lot of half sleeve RHCP mother's milk shirts, Nirvana, Obscure doom metal shirts and the occasional Joy Division shirt.
When wearing a band shirt was a sign of devotion and people became best friends because of them...
* uncle tong with anime tees if you don’t like the medium. With band tees you look like a douche if you don’t like said band or rock in general.
Shit I got long hair now 😁
It took me like 10 months to have them like in my profile photo 😋
True about that when men had long hair, I remember the end of 90s and when 2000s begin when my father had long hair and my two uncles also 😁 So now it's my turn 😎😁
Awe well said sir. I almost hurled.
Seeing Eddie cut up a pickle with an axe is something I didn't know I needed to see.
I’ll never understand how he is able to fall so gracefully 💀
He bashed a hole into the stage floor and wedged himself underneath it.
Legend.
It was planned. I was down there waiting for him. 😛
You wish that, but it was me and he gave me vocal coaching @@lilflower25
1:25 "but i might get interrupted by a fucking shoe" 💀
That is one damn good dog. He has come a long way. This is excessively philosophical, and not necessarily entirely accurate, but I surmise that music saved Eddie from life and life saved Eddie from music. I think it IS entirely accurate to say that it is a miracle that we not only still have Eddie with us today, but that we have the best Eddie that life could produce.
Thank you for this compilation.
beautiful said👏
I agree with you. Looking at the biographies, Eddie always had it together overall. My concerns were 15-20 years ago when it was reported he drank heavily, especially during the stress of shows, and whenever some Liberal cause he supported lost a battle.
@@guytansbariva2295 it wasn’t a “liberal” cause, it was a just cause.
@@teddythomas281 I agree with you, sadly half the country doesn't think the same way.
Wish there was a way to measure the average IQ of people at a PJ concert, or U2 versus people say at a country music concert or NASCAR race. Hmmm....which do you think would be higher? Lol
@@guytansbariva2295 both would have its fair share of idiots. Lets not pretend we’re superior because we like Pearl Jam lmao
Whatever Eddie’s doing, he’s cool as he does it.
Words cannot describe how much I love this man
Holy crap, I was at that concert where Eddie descended from the rafters while the Frogs were playing!!! I never thought I would come across any footage from that awesome evening!!!!
Wow. Hearing his speaking voice you'd NEVER know how amazing his singing voice could sound
listen to his podcast called "I Am Mine" on audible, his speaking voice is quite amazing as well.
seeing young Eddie Vedder brings me right back to high school in the 90s with all these long haired stoner kids who were everywhere lol
Stone looked so done when Eddie was like “I wrote the lyrics while I was sleeping” or whatever 😭
Stone didn’t just look done, he looked absolutely faded in that interview lol
His wife is a lucky girl to have this chap.
i recall hearing the Shoe the Shoeless bit on a bootleg 25 years ago, trippy to see the video finally
Indio, CA 1993. Was there.

Looong desert drive, and it was the first any of us had heard of any Polo Grounds (which soon after became host to Coachella). I like his personality so much
Oh Eddie you can turn all situations into something good and humourous. God bless you. Will love you forever Handsome 💞
I have always loved Eddie. His voice sometimes is the only thing that soothes my tangled mind. He is amazing. ❤
He's a legend, isn't he?
And for ever he will be.. Unparalleled!
Yes
Moreso than Kurt if he'd lived. It's crazy over on the Nirvana channels where he's worshipped as a God and all the other bands and singers of the Grunge era are relegated to 2nd place. That's narrow minded and lame. I did a Facebook poll years ago among my friends of the same age, and most everyone chose PJ over Nirvana as being more meaningful, a deeper part of their life than Nirvana
@@guytansbariva2295 Nirvana is extremely important to rock history and Kurt is indeed a legend. However, I strongly agree with you. Eddie, but also Cornell and Layne, CAN'T be left behind!
@@andreycamargolacerda2705 Hey Andrey, of course Chris and Layne can't be left behind. Have you seen the video of Eddie and Chris's last performance? And Eddie giving advice to Chris's daughter? Magical.
I've met some of my musical idols..Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Bono, but I hope I'll get to meet Eddie someday. 7 concerts and counting 😎
Can't get eddie vedder than that. Legend
My favourite rock story is that one where paul McCartney is telling vedder this one time where he punched a guy and he punched Vedder in the face for dramatic effect. Paul is a good, good man
Who doesn't have a chef's double bit axe in their kitchen for slicing pickles ?
How about why does he have a Firehouse pole?

Young Eddie was truly out of control and high as fuck.
Real person, real talent, fucking amazing human being, unlike the majority of musical ‘stars’.

This is the first time I've actually been able to understand what he's saying.
Lol bravo
Eddie being Eddie 😂 lol love this guy
Doesn't get Eddie Vedder than this😂
I was at that concert where he said he's gonna beat the shit out of barefoot ppl. It was in Indio 1993.
The vid of Ed wishing Glen Hansard a happy birthday is one more of the best vids ever. Totally happy drunk.
THE ONE AND ONLY EDDIE VEDDER!!! I absolutely love this video, I Love this human being!!
Have you seen him talking to Chris Cornell's daughter where he's giving her advice from a few years ago? I haven't seen Eddie in person since around 1996 or so when he had Gloria Steinem speak before a concert in Charlotte, NC about Women's Rights
@@guytansbariva2295 I watched the podcast. Eddie was so sweet, funny and caring. You could tell that Lily was so happy listening to Eddie tell stories about her Daddy and how he has tried to handle his feelings of loosing his dear friend. You could just see from the look on his face how he felt about Chris. Amazing interview.
@@virginiaknighten4687 So tell me, what is your earliest Pearl Jam moment? For me, it was when Vs came out when I was in high school with "Daughter". We didn't hear much off of Ten until later, the radio stations just weren't playing it until PJ really exploded across the US
On that note friends: Don't do drugs.
Eddie Vedder with the greasiest groundhog exit I’ve ever seen.
definitely some Lebowski vibes here ;)
Oh nooo, you missed the part where he said "someone throw some pants, let's see some balls out there" lmaoooo

Most of the time, it’s on purpose.

3:57 EDDIE DONT GO TO THE LIGHT PLEASE NOO!!!
Knowing the lengths Eddie and the band took to suppress Black's popularity, that Letterman appearance hurt to watch. He was a good sport about it, but still.
Yeah thought the same... Dang
Um... unsure about this comment...
Black released in 1991
Released Vs. 1992
Released Vitalogy 1994
Released No Code 1996
Letterman appearance 1996. What were they hiding during the Letterman appearance?
Letterman wouldn’t shut up about the song and it was driving Eddie crazy so he agreed to pop in for that bit as a surprise. Immediately after that he got in a cab, went to the airport and flew home. Which apparently worked because Letterman shut up about the song after that pretty much. Up until that point the band had refused to do any late night appearances. You can find the whole clip on yt but be warned the Paul Schafer version of black is brutal. Also Eddie has told the story numerous times over the years, which can also be found on yt.
"I'm still here, I ain't goin nowhere!"
happy birthday! such an amazing artist
Eddie has always had such a good sense of humour. In one of the videos of him making the pickle margarita he looks all over the place for limes as though they could be lying any where in the house. Then he brings out a big axe to cut up the pickle. So funny. I would love to spend an afternoon making margaritas with Eddie.
How great would that be. But I think we would lose the pickle Eddie or just get pickled lol 😆😆💖💖
He's a sick man.......thank christ!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
AARRGGGHH .... ARGH Can't remember anything to this very day, ARRGHH WHAT THE FUCK
Stone Gossard is such a elegant Lady. Love him.

There was nothing for him to climb during porch so he had to come up some kind of drama lol.

Jeff’s Aerosmith hat is on point.
What was with that shoe situation? I’m curious if that got under control and they went back to performing. that was crazy. He got hit a couple times in the face/head. That ain’t funny.
I was thinking that wtf were ppl throwing shoes at him so hard for!?
It was first of two shoes there... some drunk idiots were being nervous because there was two opening bands before and they were waiting for PJ too long and that is why they were doing this. PJ left the stage but then quickly came back and put on a great and incredible show. Second night was amazing also. It was just that little incident because of dozen drunk jerks. It was two amazing nights. My friends older brother was there both nights.People were seriously pissed because those idiots almost ruined everything with those shoes, but everything turned out just fine. My friends brother still talks about these shows to this day and claims that those were the best two nights of his life.He often says that it was mesmerizing how great they were... i think he couldn't sleep couple days after the shows. Oh i wish i was there, but i was just too young. But I did join in later... Pearl Jam is unparalleled❤️

BEST ONE:... They missed it here, but just look up baba o' riley singles premier...Eddie went HAM on the whole set!...OUTSTANDING performance and Eddie was HAMMERED! :)
6:33 When I was younger I thought he was just being funny or maybe shy. Now I realise he was probably pissed they had him run up without the rest of the band to sing a fucking sound-bite for 10 seconds.
He’s told that story a few times over the years but essentially Dave Letterman singing the song endlessly for weeks and weeks started to drive Eddie crazy. Dave would look into the camera and say ‘Eddie, Eddie’ and sing that part of the song. So when Eddie was in New York for some other thing he decided to stop in as a surprise. He worked it out with Paul Schaefer but Letterman didn’t know about it. After Ed did the bit of the song he got back in a cab and went to the airport and flew back home. Then he could watch tv in peace again cuz Letterman stopped taunting him. Up until that point PJ had refuse to do any appearances on late night.
Letterman was an arse. I never understood why people liked him
@@leinonibishop9480 that's sad. That song is particularly painful. To have to sing it for someone who is only about views to get them to stop harassing you is like raping the soul. All the late night guys sell their souls night after night, while the artists bare it and leave It vulnerable to be taken. That's a real drama.
@@jcfarrell86 i agree, but Eddie usually laughs when he tells the story and he struck up a friendship of some kind after that with letterman so he might not feel that way about it.
@@leinonibishop9480 I'm glad to hear that. I have a tendency to see things from the dark.
