Good tutorial and a good knot ... but in the case of braid mainline to mono shock leader any knot tied under compression (i.e. - FG or PR) will be over 100% in total tensile strength.
One question (excuse me..I try to explain me..): as Tony Peña you enter the simple knot but you don't keep the first loop slack, so, after first loop series, when you come back with upper loops you don't enter the first slack loop, get around the stopping simple knot and make the series of securing knots. In this one you directly enter the stopping knot and then put in traction and tighten the knot. The question is: if the stopping knot loses the short extremity wich we cut very short and unties (due to friction on multiple casts) all the knot unties... In Tony Peña knot the simple knot is only a stop for the double series of loops and the first slack loop, put in traction, provides locking of the loop series, then second series of securing knots make sure you don't lose the ending line. What do you think about it?
it is actually depends on how you tie the knot. You will feel and know it the moment you tighten the knot if well secured or knot. Appreciate your question.
Yah the right end is janky looking and looks like it would be smacking guides pretty good. I'll stick with the FG. I mean he could do some half hitches to clean up the right end, but I like the FG when I have time and until I get faster with the FG, I go with the improved albright knot (alberto).
It is called Mahin knot, sometimes also carrot knot. I am using it just now on my long-distance casting set up. Nice video. Thx.👍👏🎣

It can't be slimmer it's 3 lines fg is only 2
Why is it better than an fg knot. It’s definitely not smaller.
It's better than FG for the anglers who find it hard to tie FG. This knot is very easy and simple to tie and yet strong.
fg knot is only good for mono to braid. This knot works for mono to mono or mono to braid

It will actually more slimmer with braid to mono. I used mono to mono on this video
