Some of the best guitar playing in the world. Pure, raw emotion, and weirdly enough, total control at the same time. Also whoever mixed this at the radio station deserves a medal. This is some of the best live recording I’ve ever heard.
Hot Damn Lawd Have Mercy! Philip Sayce is my new favorite guitarist out there 2022, I'm a sucker for blues based hard rock with a Rippin guitarist! Hits Home!
Say him last night and he blew my f... mind. True reincarnation of all those Hendrix, Vaughan and cie. Just amazing. He totally rip this one off ! WOW !!!
It is my son who told me of Philip Sayce. Philip Sayce is a good guitar player and fun to watch. As a Canadian, I'm reminded of the late, great Jeff Healey and the kind of energy he put in to his playing. John Mayer is good. He's marvelous on both the Strat and his Martin acoustics. As an old guy who grew up in the 60s and 70s, it's great to see these young, talented players.
During vacation in Novigrad I just talked after their soundcheck with the band because of their so fascinating heavy blues sound. I didn`t know them before. I was impressed how nice, polite and interested they were. In the evening I went for their concert at the Blues festival and it was simply great 🤘🤘. Thank you Philip Sayce!! A highlight in this years vacation and in my now widened music horizon. Martin
SRV ripped off Albert King and Hendrix, and Hendrix ripped off Curtis Mayfield and Muddy Waters. It's a vicious cycle of the blues. It's like a musical torch, a language being passed on to the next generation of players. He definitely has that SRV/Hendrix thing going, but to say that those guys were purely original would be an overstatement as well.
you could say that someone like kenny wayne sheperd is ripping SRV off , but Philip Sayce ? nooo , he sure is hugely inspired by him but he still adds his own touch. as for kenny , he simply plays SRV's licks note for note
phil sayce, new classmate atst. pascal baylon from barrie. this guy used to simulate playing guitar all day long with a stick( mostly Jeff Healey . his idol)! hello phil!
Guitar skills of SRV and Jimi and Philip's voice kind of reminds me of Michael Hutchence from INXS at times. He's an outrageously talented guitarist and performer.
I would love to see John Mayer climb the stage with Philip and his band... and maybe throw in one of John's other drummers to have two drummers... As it seems Philip shares the same energy on guitar and vocals equally as well. It fits, blessings :-)
Hendrix + SRV + Jeff Healey + 90's Lenny Kravitz(when he was badass) + a big load of steroids= Philip Sayce.
I concur
***** lol you beat me too it, I literally was going to leave the same comment (SRV + Lenny + Jimi...) that's hilarious.
*****
He has some Zakk too.
There was a guy named Freddy King who was doing 20 years before Jimi...who cares...its 2017...Philip Sayce the Last Great Guitar Hope !
A big load of hooey. He’s not better than any of those players other than Kravitz, who he seems to be copying, largely.
Some of the best guitar playing in the world. Pure, raw emotion, and weirdly enough, total control at the same time. Also whoever mixed this at the radio station deserves a medal. This is some of the best live recording I’ve ever heard.
Most underrated guitarist around
Stevie RV would be proud if he could see this guy shredding!
He's untouchable, he gets the SRV comparison a lot but for me i prefer Philip Sayce all day long.
I think Hendrix too (Riffs!!!!)
@@billiepulera1008I second that!
0:49 holy fuck.
I've learned every note of that lick, but playing it in that speed.. Just amazing.

Phillip Sayce straight up channeling Hendrix when he plays. Amazing!
He just attacks that strat on every lick. He's a monster.
This guy is like a well oiled machine. Incredible.

i think ive watched this video 100 times this week
Philip Sayce, I am a new fan and hooked to his music, keep it up. ❤❤
Say him last night and he blew my f... mind. True reincarnation of all those Hendrix, Vaughan and cie. Just amazing. He totally rip this one off ! WOW !!!

Phil played in Jeff's band for many years!
+Stu Reed I did not know that. Doesn't surprise me. A fine player.

Philip Sayce... Learn it... Know it... Remember it!!!
Totally amazing!
Hendrix vibe. liking it!!!!
To all those that say that nobody will ever be as good as Jimi or Stevie Ray listen to this man play
The difference with SRV and Hendrix is that they were original. This guy is ripping them off.
SRV ripped off Albert King and Hendrix, and Hendrix ripped off Curtis Mayfield and Muddy Waters. It's a vicious cycle of the blues. mmmmhh....after many years of playing the blues, Phil spins on classic rock.
Sometimes it should also eat something...rock on, Phil.
What a legend
AWESUM ❤
I hear influences of some of my heroes in his playing, but this guy has a style all his own too.
Esse rapaz toca muito e deixa transparecer a genialidade de Jimi Hendix
Exato, até o timbre com over é parecido, show 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Penta e cromatismo tudo obra do hendrix 🤘🏻🤘🏻
LOL... man that ending was badass!
Wow so great!!!
Right up there 101%
I heard a Beatle lick on guitar ! Within you without you :D :D NIIIICE
I think Tomorrow Never Knows.
I think he must be listening to more Hendrix than SRV these days.
This is an awesomeness masterpiece !!! :D
phil sayce, new classmate atst. pascal baylon from barrie. this guy used to simulate playing guitar all day long with a stick( mostly Jeff Healey . his idol)! hello phil!
1:28 SRV picking style! Nice! :D
PS: The bass dude looks like a drunken hobo version of Jon Snow :D
Guitar skills of SRV and Jimi and Philip's voice kind of reminds me of Michael Hutchence from INXS at times. He's an outrageously talented guitarist and performer.
He nailed the srv tone
Mega 🤘🤘
Crazy good!
Now that's how it gets done..oh ya!!!
1:25 Tomorrow never knows - The Beatles
DAMN!!! He's gotten better.

Brutal !!!!!!
My Hero!

it is interesting to see that he not just plays like hendrix but sings like him.

🤗
Thanks for rocking my day baby!🎉
I have hope for the youngins once again! What bass is that?
INSANE..!!
Obviously the whole thing is so impressive but worth noting that last dive-bomb he gets off the headstock is so friggin cool.
I would love to see John Mayer climb the stage with Philip and his band... and maybe throw in one of John's other drummers to have two drummers... As it seems Philip shares the same energy on guitar and vocals equally as well. It fits, blessings :-)
Oh boy !!
That was a cool Little Richard "wooo" in there
YEEEEEEEESSSS!!!!!
You know it´s going to be a good song when Bob Terwilliger plays the drums
You know you are good when Jon Snow plays bass guitar in your band
ANIMAL 👏🎸
Epic

Hot stuff! Reminds me a lot of Chris Duarte.

This guy's in a gear 99.99% people don't have.
