Let's go back to Return of the Jedi where Luke Skywalker saves Anakin Skywalker who defeated Palpatine and Vader to save his son. The circle is now complete and the prophecy has come true.
As Anakin begins to fade into the force, he is greeted by his fellow Jedi Masters as they teach him how to transfer his spirit into the force, when Obi-Wan, Yoda, Qui-Gon Jinn show up, he is so happy...until...Master Windu appears...and with him...the Younglings!!
Vader is healed and he runs with Luke to a secret chamber that he's been hiding for years from the Empire, a secret that will make things right, again.
Join us on this final adventure as we embark on the next season of endless possibilities, as these two go into different times and scenes where pivotal shifts need to be made to correct the future...however, sometimes...the butterfly effect creates a new tale of its own that must be corrected...

But Vader didn't actually give the order - TARKIN did. Vader didn't even consider that action as leverage to get Leia to reveal the Rebel Base (which she didn't). And Vader doesn't care about the ability to destroy a planet as much as the power of the force. Tarkin's idea was maybe Leia would talk if someone other than her was threatened, such as her home planet of Alderaan.

That's part of the point. The Jedi had lost their way and became arrogant and dogmatic. Force healing was seen as reinforcing attachments. The idea that a Jedi should not feel attachment was at the core of their undoing.

“Why couldn’t you heal me?” Force healing annoys me.
Force healing isn't broken at least it wasn't till Disney botched its live action debut.
1. It had limits, it was mostly Lightside, anything as serious as a mortal wounds from a Lightsaber, or severed limbs on a species who couldn't regenerate limbs was right out.
2. Every Jedi had basic self healing. It could heal minor wounds, scrapes, bruises, minor poison like alcohol, and lesser diseases. More serious diseases like say the Blue Shadow virus you were dead without medical help.
3. Advanced healing techniques were waaaay harder. Jedi specializing in healing, called Healers, had to practically study all their lives to get good. They had to study medicine, biology, xenobiology, infectious diseases, and had to master using the Force as a glorified microscope.
4. In order to heal anyone other than themselves a healer would have to drop into a meditation and well meditate on the person they were trying to help and use the "glorified microscope" to see on a sub atomic level to mend that person. It also took time, depending on the severity of the injury/illness and skill of the healer, could take hours to days to heal a person.
5. More skilled users were faster. A good healer like old EU version of Luminara Unduli and Barriss Offee could heal minor injuries in seconds while fighting in major battles and were in constant demand from other Jedi to support them in grueling campaigns.
6. Luke' order discovered that positive emotions, like love and joy, did help Force healing more efficiently. Thus they had more Jedi with advanced healing techniques in their roster.
Also the whole point with Anakin not using Force healing is simple and poetic in a tragic way. The clone wars were raging and Jedi Healers were either in high demand... or dead. If Anakin went to them it was good chance they were busy, or the council would put two and two together about his "attachments". Anakin himself had never trained to be a healer and as I had explained that it takes time to learn and Anakin didn't know what was killing her in his vision. So he started panakin TM. He started exploring every avenue to him and tried taking shortcuts to some power that could heal every possible affliction that could happen to her.
Shortcuts to power. Anakin Skywalker was already falling before Palpatine offered him a way out.
