What I got out of it is that unlike other YT food videors, you showed the downside of a cooking experiment without editing it out and that was refreshing.
That’s the fun of experiments. You never know when they’re going to be a disaster. 😁
Because she dies not know how to make the cakes. When I got it in 2022 the bundt cake did not look brown like that.
@pocahontasseguinart7099 Lolwut? It's brown like that because she used almond flour. She said that in the video - that she used almond flour AND that that's why they're a different sort of brown. I've had my bundt cake makers (round and heart-shaped both) for years, and when I use almond flour, it looks brown like that. Not sure what's wrong with your cakes .. Oh, wait - you probably don't use ALMOND FLOUR.
Man. People on the internet. YOU don't pay attention to what someone says in a video, make assumptions, and blame them. lol Freaking people, man. *smdh* lol
I love that you didn’t give up on it. I was thinking about the tinfoil from the beginning because I used to have a small toaster oven that I had to do the same thing with. I’d call this experiment a success! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
👍😁
Hi there! Would you consider baking a piece of fish/chicken with it? Curious to see how that would turn out. Definitely would probably have to be wrapped in foil.
Stay tuned…
Almond flour is good. Mixing in some rice flour is good too.
Oh my gosh I found you again. Your channel's the best so far for these.things
XD
I gotta admit I found this very entertaining and I LoL'd! Thank you!!
Can't wait! To see fish, chicken or meat cooking!! What kind of power draw does this unit have? How many watts please?
550 watts
@@CounterCooking :: Thank you so much!!
😂😂😂
❤ 😅 poor bunny great video thank you
This made me hungry. Can you do cookies the same way😁

That's one charred bunny.
My cakes don't look like that when I used the mini bundt cake
Talks like we are in grade school and she is the teacher.
Many people who watch these videos are in grade school. Kids love Dash Mini appliances.
@@CounterCooking I just wanted to say I really appreciated your video and the way you explained things. I don't think you're speaking down or anything negative, you're speaking just fine. I like the in-depth review, and the way you tried multiple times to see if there was a way to make it work. As someone who is considering this as a gift to my 6yo to make small-sized cakes and foods, I was really interested to see what was possible and how it would turn out. Thanks so much for taking the time and effort to make these cakes and this video :)
Thanks for this video. I was thinking again of buying one of those Dash mini ovens because of the cuteness. lol I'd contemplated it before, but I don't like the lack of temp control. So I bought the Elite Gourmet ETO236 Personal 2 Slice Countertop Toaster Oven. It uses 650 watts, more than others but less than most. I've had it for a year now and it's fab! I use it very often, sometimes daily. And it's only ten bucks more than the Dash oven.
Great video, the foil really helped, would love to see how it works with a small piece of chicken, fish, and maybe some veggies or a small pizza. Thank You for taking the time to try this out.
Pizza should cook fast, but should work well since pizza needs a high heat.
That crumb plate in the toaster oven will block the heat from the bottom element and may be why it wasn't cooking evenly. You could also try opening the door to varying degrees to bring the temp down.
ETA- ooh, looks like the tin foil worked! Yay for the scientific method!
The second bunny looked awesome!!! Thanks for sharing your trial and error - very helpful!!!
Great review. The bundt looks perfect. Thank you.
I want all the Dash items just because I think minis are cute!
They are very cute. This toaster oven is especially cute. 😁
Good know about covering the pans. I’ve been considering getting as a crafting toaster er.
Very detailed, thanks for not making it look merry on the first try. Since this thing is small, I was expecting a bit of a learning curve. I plan to use this in my camper and I think I can pull it off based on your video. Thank you so much.
here’s a link to all of my other videos with this oven if you want to check them out - ua-cam.com/play/PLYWJQBzNj8F6kzU_4ObgxlUuZrxTbFuda.html
I bought this in pink last week at the thrift store new. It’s still in the bag because the packaging tape they put on it to keep the door shut needs me to use a hair dryer or goop to carefully take it off so I won’t damage the pink paint. I love your videos.I just received the dash double up yesterday in the mail. Can’t wait to use it!! Love your videos! Always look forward to them. I’m pretty sure I just about have everything Dash has put out. Use all the time and Love Dash. Keep the videos coming. This little toaster oven is adorable. It feels like I’m back with Susie homemaker toys when I was a little girl in early 60’s. Lol. Love it!
Yes. It reminds me of the Easy Bake ovens. I never had one growing up but my friends did. 😁 Thanks for watching!
Vegetable oil or WD-40 will remove sticky groop
@@rejn1420 thank you!! 👍🏻
I totally think I don't need this but want it cuz it's adorable
OMG Susie 😮 homemaker
Gasp, when you revealed the foil rapped bunny! I got the urge to have a little dipping dish of melted butter and honey to dunk it in!
I had considered buying this. So glad you helped me save my money
Stay tuned… Also, did you watch the end of the video?
I think, essentially, it's a toaster. Bread, bagels....etc. Did it have a "Recipe" book, or guide?
You can "bake" all of these items in the microwave in under :03 minutes if you use the same pans. Do the toothpick test at :01 minute and every :20 to :45 seconds after. Less is more -- under guess your time, according to the coated toothpick. You'll be surprised! I do this all the time.
some people don’t use microwave ovens. Some people don’t have microwave ovens. I am one of these people.
I have a suggestion, please just ignore it, if you aren't interested, but with the variety of solar powered generators you have, I would really like your opinions and thoughts on which one is the best in a bunch of different categories, like which is best for people on a budget, which is best for daily use, etc.
I have a small one, it's about 300 watts, it isn't a name brand, I made a brief video about it because it was a very recent discovery for me, from some women that I follow who live in vans/cars, I think that everyone should have one, in case of a blackout or other emergency, at least your phone can stay charged.
Thanks for considering.
I only have 3 small ones and they are all very similar. I can make a video about them.
@@CounterCooking , I would really like to see a video from you about the generators. You explain things in a way that I can easily understand, so anything you know about generators, I would like to hear it.
Just a silent subscriber who enjoys your videos and I wanted to wish you a Happy Easter!
Thanks for watching! Thanks for the comment! Happy Easter! :)
I was just coming on here to say use tin foil when you mentioned it.
Oh my goodness, these are the cutest!
All ovens toaster or otherwise have top and bottom elements people ! Why is that a surprise to some ?
Some people don't have toaster ovens and don't use toaster ovens.
Yikes. It's cute though. 😁
The toaster oven looks like a fail..the Bundt cake maker looks good though..saves me $$.. I won't buy the toaster oven for sure..ty
Stay tuned… Also, did you watch the end of the video?
@@CounterCooking yes I did..but still not sold on it.. sorry
I've used a mini toaster oven from a breakfast station for the last 4 or 5 years. It finally died and I just bought this Dash mini toaster to replace it. It just takes some testing experience. I did line my older mini toaster oven with aluminum foil and covered bake containers with foil for every bake. I also bought a Brie baker that fits inside both the mini toaster and my Dash mini air fryer. I do alot of baking in that.
OMGosh… so cute 🥰
I was raised with three sisters and we’d be all over that!
So happy I found this video. I have been wanting to bake a mini cake with this mini toaster over. Going to try this out tomorrow!!
I have one too, they need temp control.
I love mine 💗 it's one of my favorite gadgets!!
It seems like their
other products work much better. You're Right this was disaster a hilarious disaster lol props for eating the cake way to burnt. if it was me I would have definitely thrown it out
Just put foil over the top so it doesn’t burn
Watch the whole video.
I think for baking precision is important, definitely not an oven for cake with thickness and need the heat to evenly cook the batter 😂 maybe something thin like cookies or pizza is still possible 🤔
What I feel is from all my dash items they hearing elements lol is very hot and I do use foil w all my products hate the extra step but love all my many items I have from them
I have moved you to my sailing and cooking channle, as i just bought an larger sailing boat to live on At the present, the boat hasto be lifted out and cleaned up but will be more comphy as well. So i am changing my lifestyle an litte.
Gerard.
I have an idea how deep and high this mini toaster is but how high is it? How tall of a mini pan fits in?
The cooking area inside is only about 3 inches high.
Great question! Cool that it’s only 500W too.
Thank You for the Video 👏👏👏I’ve been thinking about getting one
More videos about it coming soon… 😁
Thank you for this review ! I wanted to bake mini cakes in it so this may not be good for it
Thank you so much for this video. That looks like a fire hazard if it isn't watched closely
The bunny cake 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You did your thing with the Bundt tho. Beautiful
yup much better the aluminum foil always blocks the heat from burning it to a crisp same for the oven but yeah Dash needs to upgrade that seriously
cut some foil round & put on the top. it might work better that way.
Cover the top with foil it will help.
Guess you didn’t watch the whole video…
@@CounterCooking I was pulled away from the video at the time I went back and finished watching just now sorry about that.
So glad I watched to see you put foil on it! What a difference! Now rushing to my DT to get a silicone mini making pan or a round one!
The toaster oven is so cute. I have a convection oven already or I’d check out the Dash mini. Thank you for the review.Wow! $20 is a great deal…
I really hope you sent this Dash product back. I'm wondering how it would be if you had covered it with Aluminum foil and also turned the heat down a little bit ? I usually like Dash products - but I don't think I would purchase this one.
There is no heat control. It’s one temp. I really hope you watched the whole video.
Thanks for the tutorial, good warning got toaster oven.
Good review, as always! Love you videos!! Was it you that did a cake in dash mini rice cooker? Because of your videos I’ve started buying the Dash mini products. Great to have these in a grid down situation with solar.
I haven’t tried a cake in a Dash Mini Rice Cooker yet. These products work very well with solar.
@@CounterCooking it would be awesome if you would do a cake or brownie in the dash mini rice cooker 💖💝
@@daisymae3747 "Vanna Mae" did a chocolate cake in the mini rice cooker.
@@JNante thank you 💖
dang it, I was really hopeful for that bunny cake
Did you watch through the end?
@@CounterCooking Yes, I saw the deep, dark crust.
@@ginasharer7984 Yes, it was an almond flour cake. Almond flour cooks differently than wheat flour. It was delicious. :)
yeah, I knew that, main reason I watched. I have been utilizing almond flour for a couple of years now, so I'm always on the hunt for tasty recipes. Thanks
No heat adjust. Time adjust only. The heating element is like the ones in a radiant electric fire. Why is it pink? Thanks.
I think it comes in different colors.
This is just a total disaster pretty much sums up my entire life tbh
guess you didn’t watch the whole video
What would you say is the best and most versatile dash mini. Thank you for sharing.
The best depends on what your needs are. The toaster oven is probably the most versatile. I use it all the time for just about everything.
In the directions to the oven it says it cooks at 400° so cooking something that supposed to be cooked at 335 or less is definitely going to be burnt. You have to use the parameters of the unit.
Did you watch through to the end?
🎉❤
here
Turn the temperature down.
there is no temperature control
I had the red one last year and the most I was able to do was use it to toast bread with it, or slices of really thin meat for a minute or so.
