I buy street taco sized tortillas. They fit perfectly in my 4in mini griddle, and you can get flour or corn. Mission Tortillas sell a low carb whole wheat street taco tortilla - they taste amazing and are keto friendly (in moderation, of course).
If you used the 4.5-5 inch flour street taco tortillas and used a lot of cheese, the quesadilla would basically seal along the edges. That would make it easier (cleaner) eating. I'd want salsa, sour cream, and guacamole on my cooked quesadilla. And chopped tomatoes inside (cherry/grape tomatoes chopped would provide the best flavor).
I found you yesterday and I'm super happy today! I live in one room and have to "cook" on a shelf in my bathroom. I just bought my first Dash Mini Griddle and your videos are so helpful! Thank you soooo much! 😁💖
There is another channel called "Ken Click" and he has some pretty awesome recipes for the Dash appliances as well....turkey pot pie is made in the pie maker along with cheese dip and quite a few others.
When I was in Massage school, I would go to a local market and buy my lunch sometimes and I would occasionally buy a Panini sandwich , a bag of plain chips and either a bottle of water or chocolate milk. I think the grill would be good to use to make Panini sandwiches 🥪 with. To get a crispy bread , I would use a little bit of butter or butter spray on the grill. ( I noticed that was what they did at the market where I purchased my Panini. ) The difference in the cheese that you have noticed is that in America the Farmers used to allow their dairy cows to graze the grassy fields, which is what the Farmers in Europe do , the American Farmers had to Grain feed their Dairy cows 🐄. You will notice the same with items like “ Kerry Gold “ butter ( an Irish product . ) I recently discovered your channel and have purchased a Griddle , a sandwich maker, a mini fryer, an air popcorn popper, and a rice cooker. I am searching for the pie maker next. I have to find ways to cut down my electric use and I think using these items may help. (I am still thinking about the donut maker. What is holding me back on getting it is that my mother had taught me how to make donuts 🍩 by using a tin of biscuits which I can use the mini fryer for. That method is: open the tin of biscuits , separate out what is needed or cook ahead each. To each biscuit that has been set aside for a few minutes to rise and with holes already cut by using the lid from a catsup bottle ( which can be cooked too ) ; drop into fryer , turn when golden in color and when done remove to drain on paper towels and then top with glaze, frosting, or place in a zip bag of either powder sugar or a sugar and cinnamon mix. You’re welcome to use the recipes if you want to try them. 👍👍🙏💜🦁✨✝️ 12:29
It is the kind of cheese Irish pubs use. They use Irish or English cheddar which is so much better then American cheddar. Those look so good. I am buying a dash griddle in the next few days.
Yes, I agree with you! The tortilla looked more "done" from the griddle. I love the cuteness of the grill marks but my overall impression is that the griddle offers more flexibility for cooking things and getting them well done.
I guess it is a salsa, but I'd call that sauce pico de gallo. Pico is easy to make. My sister's son in law always made his own. I didn't know for a long time that you could buy it in a grocery like that.
Your channel and your creativity inspired me to buy the waffle maker, griddle and egg cooker. I plan to take at least the griddle to work and start making delicious lunches. I had recently bought a mini slow cooker…I work at a resort and even with the staff 50% discount my typical lunch costs almost $10. I can do this right in my office!❤
Just watching & fun helpful hint...Street Taco size tortillas fit Dash Minis perfect. I was so glad to find those for my needed Simple Life... easier & faster. Yay!😃 Have fun & thx for your very helpful videos! Take care! 🌸🌷🌸
I just found you and I love all these recipes in the mini grill. I have 2 of them and anything that is not keto I will see about changing it. I love your video’s!! Thank you!
Thank You so much, I am getting great ideas from these videos. I just watched this again and these videos are going to save me so much money because I plan on starting to travel soon.
I’m not sure about the dimensions but I buy my son the mini tortillas from Walmart. I just happened to see them one day while grocery shopping and was super excited lol I just bought this griddle 2 days ago and we’re ready to make some mini quesadillas 😁
Thanks for posting this, i tested out quesadillas in my griddle and they turned out fantastic. i did butter the tortillas first because i prefer that on my quesadillas.
I have a mini waffle maker and a mini rice cooker. I only cook for myself and love these recipes. I poached eggs in my rice maker after watching you do it. It works!! Have you popped popcorn in the mini rice maker?
Thank you for this! My toddler loves quesadillas and this is fast with no mess. Have you seen tortillas called “street tacos” from mission? They’re just slightly bigger but it works!
Love this video!! I just recently got the mini grill and love it a lot. It's a bit tricky to clean but quicker and far less dishes/space taken up to cook.
I found your channel and now I am subscribed. Can you please tell us how you clean your mini dash products? I have a few and I clean mine with water from the faucet. I have one that you can pull down and I clean the plates with the water not touching the cord.
I just got a Dash mini griddle and I want my egg thoroughly cooked without burning. Still trying to find that perfect time to hard cook the egg. I do not want to set off the smoke detector. I find the griddle gets too hot for butter. I wish it had a low setting.
I used my Dash griddle last night to do chicken quesadillas. I used 2 standard carbright flour tortillas and filled the, with sauteed bell pepper, onion, quesadilla cheese and chopped rotsserie chicken warmed in a pan with taco seasoning. Folded them in half and put melted butter on both sides with a basting brush. The two big crescents make a perfect sized circle in the Dash. I estimate 7 plus minutes to yummy goodness.
I just wanted to report that I just got my mini grill from Amazon. I got a used one for $12 and I tell you what I made a breakfast sandwich and I made the eggs like you did with the addition of a half teaspoon of whipping cream and the Redmond salt and I put a little butter on the griddle . The little edge makes this work, yea! I cooked my egg and it come out scrumptious. I push it toward the middle like you did and I put it In the dish then I took the fully cooked sausage and I put that in there and close the lid couple of minutes and then turn it over and do it 2 more minutes put that on top of the eggs I buttered my English muffins slightly, and I put them facedown on the griddle two minutes down one minute up put that in there Corning ware grab it dish. You may have those, they hold food hot. ( sausage that was fully cooked) before I reheated it. two minutes down one minute up put it in the dish and the whole sandwich was hot and it was perfectly made and everything tasted fantastic and it is not hard at all and everything was precision like cooked. I’m surprised at this little dash mini grill, how it can make a breakfast delicious sandwich. one you know simply taking care of each item at a time, everything comes out not burnt not over cooked just right And that makes the whole thing a winner. I’m gonna keep trying the things that you show and I’ll make a little omelette and I’ll make all kinds of stuff with it. I am thrilled to death make the little tacos but I the breakfast sandwiches something that I had bought that Hamilton Beach Breakfast sandwich maker my eggs ran all over and that I could not keep the English muffins from being too done. It just didn’t work good for the sausage the sausage needs to brown to get the flavor so the little mini dash grill makes the best breakfast sandwich and because I kept it in a corning ware, grab it, everything was piled up and everything was hot going on top of one another. It was just a couple of minutes in between and everything stays hot and when I got ready to handle the sandwich, it could not have smelled and looked delicious. The presentation is fantastic and that is just perfect for an RV or a trailer or or any you know if you have a Jacari and you’re in a tent you can make a first rate breakfast. If you just bring a few utensils, I use a wooden Spurdle to bring my things in and out of the mini grill because I know that won’t hurt it and it’s just absolutely working great. The temperature is enough to cook and if you watch it close, it is not enough to burn and low wattage will go just about anywhere. I am so grateful. I watched your video dear. It has so inspired me and it is well worth it, cooking for one person. I bought two of the little mini grills, and I also bought the 8 inch for pancakes I think if I have two people you know I can make up anything yeah. It’s just really really nice I really like them they work great I like the temperature it’s not too hot but it’s hot enough to cook. Thank you for your excellent video. This is fun for us widows. 😊
Ditto! I have the griddle and the waffle maker. I can't afford meat often enough to make the grill useful. I make pancakes, eggs, quesadillas, and grilled cheese sandwiches on the griddle.
Looks delicious! Once again, I don't feel the need to buy the grill. I have two griddles, two waffle makers and two bundt makers (did you ever find any?). I'm not sure I want to store another one. Aldi was selling some really small tortillas. I didn't get them but now I might look to see if they still have them. They might fit perfectly, or at least pretty close.
I was able to buy the Bundt maker online from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Have not had a chance to take it out of the box yet. Looking forward to trying it. I store all of my Dash Minis in the microwave since I don’t use it. 😄
@@CounterCooking That won't work for me. We use our microwave all the time. Glad you were able to find one. I tried it once with a mug cake recipe and it was a total fail. Looking for some recipes that work. I do the grain free recipes.
You can buy street tortillas, save you some time and won't waste your bigger tortillas, good job, improvising is the name of the game, just use what you have.
Does anyone know of DASH or another brand makes a larger Round grill like this, that fits a regular tortilla size? Something bigger than 8 inches in diameter. Thanks.
There is a Dash Double Up 12" Griddle but I'm not sure if they are still making it. I have one that I bought at Marshalls' several years ago. It's just like the mini griddle and 8 inch griddle but larger. Here is the link to it on Amazon: amzn.to/3HRcSFt
Never say “Irish pubs have the best quesadillas “ to a Mexican who knows the actual real quesadilla. I’m only joking, I thought it was funny. Love your ideas I have these but hardly ever use them because I lack imagination. Glad I came to your channel, subscribed.
I would love to have a really good authentic Mexican quesadilla. Unfortunately, around here, I haven’t had that experience yet. I think the best Mexican food I’ve had was in Texas.
In Mexico we call what you made "gorditas de harina". Yes, you made authentic gorditas, not Taco Bell's Gringo gorditas. Queso in Spanish means cheese. Our large meal in Mexico is between 2 to 3 PM. Dinner is a small meal, more or less a snack. We would have the gorditas you made for lunch and simply cheese sandwiched in a flour tortilla heated on a griddle, we call comal. Quesadillas is just a Mexican cheese sandwich, but with flour tortilla instead of white bread.
