Born and bred Londoner here. I've been to Camden more times than I care to remember over the years. As far as the market is concerned, it used to be a lot better. Smaller, but with more local crafts, antiques, and interesting bits and pieces from all over the world. Nowadays, it's so touristy, with so many shops selling overpriced poor quality t-shirts and London bus fridge magnets! 😉 I must say though that from the video, it seems as though you missed the best part, the area around Stables Market. Much more interesting, with better quality and more unique goods. If you'd persevered with that alley you said was too crowded, you would have found it, although you can also get to it by walking up Chalk Farm road and entering through the large gates. It's my favourite part of the market.
@@susanguerinai6507 Yes, much better in the 90s. I remember we used to be able to drive up there from South London of a Sunday morning, park easily in the backstreets, spend some time browsing, then drive home again. Imagine doing that these days! It was always fairly busy then, but nowhere near as busy as it is nowadays.
Some deep talk around the 16 to 18:00 minute mark, but let it never be forgotten that despite how loud the right wing scream otherwise, the UK and especially London, is welcoming of every decent human being, regardless of their race, religion or orientation. We may not be perfect and have our flaws, but we are open and caring people as a whole. I’m atheist but Inshallah, Mashallah :)
I was born in london but moved to Australia perth. in 1983. I have been back a few times to england to visit family and never get bored of visiting london... So much to do there.the city has everything . Perhaps go visit other towns like Oxford, york. Cotswolds, Cambridge when you come back next time for the summer.
So busy on the streets and you still give us a full vlog. Brilliant work chris, I would of loved to come and meet you whilst you were in my country, next time you visit I will make more of an effort to make it happen.
Chris, thank you for all your hard work, amazing vlog; I know it's difficult to record with all the crowds; hope you and your fiancé both enjoy; all love and good vibes @ cha boss!
Hiii Chris & Gladys!! If you’re still in the U.K, you’re more than welcome to visit Ludlow, in Shropshire! ❤❤ Ludlow is in the heart of England, right in the middle of the countryside! It’s a beautiful, market town full of history, a majestic castle and some buildings which date back to the 17th century! Or if you prefer, you can explore the ancient Mortimer forest and country lanes! We might even spot some deer! I’d love to show you around ❤ xxx
I’ve been away from Afghanistan for 45 years-left when I was only 9 months old-but my roots and the culture still hold a special place in my heart. If you’ve never tried Afghan food, you’re missing out! Start with Kabuli Palaw, the national dish, which is a beautifully spiced rice with raisins, carrots, and meat. Then there’s Manto, the Afghan dumplings filled with seasoned ground meat and topped with yogurt sauce. Bolani is another must-try-it’s a fried flatbread stuffed with potatoes, leeks, or other vegetables. And, of course, Tikka Kabob, perfectly grilled and seasoned meat, is an experience in itself. About what that Afghan guy said at his shop you bought a bag at, when it comes to life and faith, I believe that heaven and paradise are not abstract concepts or rewards in the afterlife-they’re what we create for ourselves here on Earth. It’s about how we choose to live, the joy we build, and the connections we foster. Many people don’t realize this, but we hold the power to shape our own version of heaven right now.
I remember you buying that jacket about a year ago in one of your videos. I'm from London. Great to see you here, hope you're enjoying your experience in London.✌🏼
Chris I like your videos so much when you walk around you can detail everything smoothly and especially you speak very very clearly easy to listen very unique . sorry if I write something wrong because my English language is not good ❤🇰🇭
Blows my mind how they can sell fake jerseys/designer in Camden market considering how tough the authorties in the UK usually are on that kind of stuff
That Vietnamese restaurant "Thanh Binh " has an authentic taste of Vietnamese cuisine and the owner is Vietnamese. As you walk a bit further on the left, there is the back entrance of the stables market, which will lead you towards the food stalls and some interesting shops ....but I guess you walked back towards the Camden town.
Not a huge fan of camden to be honest. Back in the 90’s it was the place for anything alternative with a great music scene. Now it’s just a bit to touristy.
Did you go to Covent Garden yet? When I lived in London it was my favourite place to visit...It’s hundreds of years old..at the indoor market, you can catch the nearby Opera singers busking inside,it’s such a beautiful place to visit.....
I love Camden Town. It's unique, but tbh, if you want to experience market mayhem, crowds, and anything you can/can't think of, then head to Marrakesh by Ryan Air, for a trully unique experience, like 3-night break, you'll really get more bang for your bucks!!! and it's only like 3 hours from London!
I have lived and worked in Camden town. The market you're going under the bridge used to be Stables market. Some of the shops sell copies of other brands or logos,..maybe that's the reason why they're not letting you film...
Chris you should spend a few hours in Chiswick, they have some great shops around Turnham Green, also it’s less touristy and just a little nicer, there are some nice pubs along the river Thames. It’s not far from Richmond where they filmed Ted Lasso.
Another awesome video my Friend, but different kinda vibe from the hospitality. Could very well be cuz of your filming, (like you mentioned). Be safe, take care of you!
Around the 8 min mark when your in Inverness street market you turned around just before you got to the pub “the good mixer”. Amy winehouse local joint !! For your next visit you should grab a beer !!!!
£20 is known as a "score ". Leicester , is pronounced as " lester" . It would be the same with Gloucester . It is pronounced as " Gloster " .. thank you for coming to my neck of the woods .. native of Malaysia . All the best
There's also a latin neighbourhood in london called elephant and castle. The locals there are very very nice and speak spanish. There is many columbians, Venezuelans, Ecuadorians and guatemalans there.
Where is lovely Gladys. I agree Camden’s changed from when I remember it. But I still like going there but won’t buy from traders as rip you off and items are fake. But it nice place to go in summer to chill.
@@malalapipe77 Brings back memories. Yes, the best part of the market. Although I forgot about the other stores. But used to go there near closing time to get discount fried noodles :)
“They don’t understand the concept” - lol. It’s got nothing to do with marketing. Central London shops have an almost infinite supply of footfall year round - it’s the 3rd most visited city in the world, with almost 22 million tourists a year. What they don’t want is for you to potentially use the filming in a way which might defame or undermine the individuals or institutions. They don’t need the marketing - the marketing is ready made and built in by just being in London.
Great content, as always! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (mistake turkey blossom warfare blade until bachelor fall squeeze today flee guitar). How can I transfer them to Binance?
Haha, this is where I hang out alot...do a video at night-time here! It gets rowdy! Some of the friendliest drug dealers you could ever meet are here. Plus people getting drunk at 2am on a Tuesday night! and check out the cosy Hawley Arms pub where Amy Winehouse used to hang out.
When you visit the UK in the summer you need to visit Newcastle & Northumberland. Less hustle and bustle, much friendlier people in the North and very scenic. London they rip you off and have attitude. Also, you have 1 hr train ride to Edinburgh. Head to the north, there's more to the UK than London and such beautiful places and great architecture. You should put Gladys in your videos more. She is so funny. Love you both and safe travels ❤

Camden is too crowded for me, I live close by but rarely go! The Afghani man was so nice! 👍🏻
I'd say if you want more trendy neighbourhoods than Camden, you should visit Peckham, Shoreditch/Hackney, Brixton.
