- In November 1995, while an overwhelming international outcry mounted against the execution of the Ogoni and MOSOP leader, Ken Saro-Wiwa and his colleagues, defiant military dictator, Sani Abacha, backed by a small group of military officers, convinced themselves that executing them, swiftly, was the best way to resolve the Ogoni unrest “once and for all”, and to make it clear to Nigerians and the international community that the authoritarian regime was no pushover.
In this video we will bring to your view excerpt from the high-level military council meeting in which the decision to execute Ken Saro-Wiwa and his associates was taken on November 8, 1995.

It is difficult to believe Abacha was motivated by a sense of justice. It was simply revenge. I say this because of the denial of reasonable legal representation for the Saro Wiwa and the other accused.
Ken Saro wiwa underestimated Abacha probably because they were was once neighbors in PH. RIP to him
Neighbor in Igbo man house Sero took over during Biafra war with Nigeria . He never gave that house back after the war
@Mas-ud Al-hassan I don’t need to read your comment by seeing you name .
@@kinguche9208 are they in anyways better than ndi Igbo after seizing our houses? We must let go of the past.
@@kingsleyoffor6752 we must let go of the past have kept you from not moving far better than you should be. We must let go of the past has lead you to vote in buhari who you know his history in the past for not being able to rule a nation into power. Think with your head
@Mas-ud Al-hassan you’re welcome for understanding you’re the real damagers of Nigeria
Abacha took him out because he knew how Sero was to his government. Sero who took over an Igbo man’s house in PH during the 96-70 wars did not return the house back to the owner after the war. This can tell you how dangerous a man is if he can take what does not belong to him away from the real owner do to the war in Nigeria
@Mas-ud Al-hassan what’s your Quran quote about
Abacha after all d brutality on ogoni,..small apple kill u what a shame.
🤔🤔
Abacha was something else... Anyways God judged him. Rest on Wiwa and others.
Pls more videos as often as possible. Love ur work.
that is right...he is doing a great job.
The judge was made CJN and the prosecuting counsel made NBA chairman. What a country that rewards wrongdoing!
That is the ban of this country!! Thank you for watching
The Late Justice Ibrahim Auta was NEVER made the Chief Justice of the Federation. In fact, he NEVER sat on the Supreme Court. He was only President of the Federal High Court
Difference between yesterday's men and today's ....
Certainly! 😍😍
There was no justice , Abacha did this because he wanted to put fear on the streets.
Also he did it because he knew how dangerous sero was
@@kinguche9208 how was K SW dangerous?
How?? I don't get
@@iktheboy7594 ask the killers , some of them are still alive and will explain it better for you not like I did
you are right my friend.Though the children of the Ogoni elders allegedly killed by Saro Wiwa and co were praising Abacha for his act.
Abacha was out to eliminate him in order to bring "peace" in the area..but that was the worse thing that could happen to our people in the Niger Delta... Thank you for sharing
Second to comment. Thanks 4 uploading
Thank you very much for your continued support...all of us at Hisple Media appreciate your support. Thanks ❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙
Little did Abaja know that his own days were numbered.
That is life for you... Nobody is actually in control of his life noatter how powerful you are. Thank you. 🙏🙏
Wow 😮 you got your research right you got a new like
Saro was a god to the ogonis then. His followers did the killing aafter listening to the inciting speech of Saro.
So how was he not a culprit?
**As someone who grew up in port Harcourt, I can categorically tell you that Saro was an evil man.

Love this history.
Thank you for watching. I appreciate you
The killings reminds me of the unjust killings that took place after the failed dimka coup of 76.
'Unjust'killing you said? Were Dimka and his colleagues innocent?
@Mas-ud Al-hassan my friend,I didn't argue that Gen Ironsi didn't created a unitary government in Nigeria. He did destroy the federal system one of the reasons given for his killing. Unfortunately, Gowon and subsequent and leaders have refused to revert to Federalism on the ground that it encourages disunity.
So,why blame Aguiyi Ironsi for instituting unitary government?
@@kingsleyoffor6752 ironsi decree 34 did not destroy the regional system, it was GOWONs decree 14 that destroyed the regional system don't be fooled by Nigeria distorters of history.
If Saro Wiwa was not behind the killing of the 4 chiefs, then who was?
You must tell us
@@chrisgyamfiboateng5574 I wish I knew.....
@@Oldman1912 you wished you knew but your insinuation and rhetorical question point to the fact that he did it and you also justified his murder by Abacha elsewhere by stating that he deserved it because he took someone's house. Was he tried by Abacha's kangaroo court because of the house or he was tried for something else? It's amazing that some human beings will be glorifying Abacha's monstrosity in the political his of Nigeria; let's pray and hope that no military government will emerge in Nigeria in the future and employ same lame pretext on you or a family member and get them executed. Peace.
@@chrisgyamfiboateng5574 hmmm Chris, okay oooo.
This is what you get when you betray your self. Ken sarowiwa betrayed him self
