Hey! So sorry, I didn’t live in the dorm because the dorm in Budapest is quite crowded since it is a capital city. Also, I heard a lot of bad reviews like people steal things from each other. I really value my personal safety so I choose to rent a flat. However, if you are applying for different cities, dorm is really recommended :)
Hi sis, I have a question for you ? As a Hungarian scholarship holder, do you still need to study Hungarian language before attending ELTE university ? Thank for your reply ?
Not sure if I get it right. So you applied for your degree in Hungarian language ? Because scholarship holders can choose what languages they want to learn for their degree. If you study in English, the basic Hungarian language class is mandatory. But if you choose to study in Hungarian, I think they won’t force you to have another basic language class.
I know im a year late to commenting in this video , but in planning on moving to budapest by 18 and finishing my studies there , do you think ELTE will aprove students that live there and not by erasmus?
What do you think should i apply to ELTE ? others saying that i have less chances in Budapest so better to apply not to Budapest but to other small towns 😭 btw i want continue my masters degree in communication and media studies. Thank you in advance ❤
I'm Hungarian and yes, generally more people apply to Budapest but imo you should try Budapest as well because it's honestly the best to live there out of all the towns in Hungary.
By the way I think admission is different for international students so you’re not in competition with Hungarians and I wouldn’t say there are a whole lot of international students here
Hey! I think if you’re outgoing and city girls, Budapest is the place for you! And also I would suggest Corvinus for communications. Most of international students goes there. I think there’s a chance you can get into universities in Budapest too, just don’t apply for the difficult one (like ELTE, they only have 1-2 quotas per each international countries). All the best!

Hii!! Does ELTE have a great curriculum flexibility? Is it possible for me, for example, to take some language classes such as French or any other subject that my bachelor's degree area is not related to?
Yes of course! You can take other subject from other faculty as well. My course, for example, requires 9 credits of any course from other faculty to complete my study (elective compulsory). For languages course, i saw some of them during registration period but not sure if we have to pay more to be in those classes. You can ask the student office for more when you arrive!

Hi, I have been nominated for Stipendium Hungaricum by my country. What are the prices if i decide to stay at a rented flat. 1 room apartment for example, or a shared flat. And monthly how much does it cost for rent, utilities, food and other expenses. Considering the monthly allowance given is not enough i really needs to know them beforehand. Thanks
Sorry for the late reply! First of all, you must take into consideration that different cities have different living costs. For me, living in Budapest is quite expensive since it’s the capital city. I will base my answer on Budapest which the accommodation right now costs minimum 130.000 forint (Hungarian currency) for shared flat per person due to inflation. However, the scholarship only provides 84.000 forint per month including everything so it sure is not enough. You could find a flat on Facebook group with variety of price and options, just type “rent flat in Budapest” and join the group. Fortunately, my flat included everything fix utilities+rental cost so I do have to worry about my utilities bills
I used to spend around 350-400$ per month (scholarship+my own money) for everything including accommodation before inflation but the cost goes up so much more now. They still give the same amount of scholarship even though the living cost is higher. I cook food at home most of the time but still I spent minimum 50.000 forint per month on food now (plus, Asian food ingredients are pricey in Europe). I would say it depends on individual how they manage their expenses. I spent like 250.000 forint (700$) per month in total during this inflation. Some might spend it lower. But one thing for sure is to not rely on scholarship. Save up some money before you come or find part time job when you arrive. There are many ways to earn money here for students.
@@southidalily2000 Thanks ❤. I applied for Elte, currently the entrance exam is going on. Should i get selected I better start looking for a part-time job 😅
