1) What WGU degree are you taking? 2) What is your planned career path? 3) Do you want my input on anything? Courses, degrees, career paths, etc. Feel free to engage with me!
I just finished a BS in IT in less than 5 months. 22 classes or 78 credits since January. Just coming in to say this is legit and a couple of notes. I failed 1 OA in my degree plan CI tried to send me to zybook purgatory to complete all course material to 90%. I pushed back and got it cut back to something more reasonable as a give and take with them.
Starting my MS in Digital Marketing in August. Hoping to move into a marketing role at my current employer and work my way up in that area of the organization. Any tips you may have or insight on that WGU program would be appreciated!
Great information! I started the Business Administration-Marketing Program last month and have already completed 5 classes looking to speed it up this month.
Hi Alex. Thanks so much for your tips. I’m looking forward to attending WGU for their Psy (Bachelor’s) degree. With the information you provided, I will be done with the degree a lot quicker which is what I want!
this is awesome to hear. I didnt realize how quickly this could be done. I start my accounting degree on april 1st and outside of my full time job i dont really have any commitments so i was kinda curious if i focus hard how quickly i could finish and this video was awesome to see. Hopefully i can crank through this degree in 1 or 2 terms. It would be kinda funny and cool to be able to do the in person graduation they have in my town at the end of the year lol
❤ great advice!!! I was scared of OA then i took them and passed on first attempt. 😊 im already 9 classes to go in my degree. ❤ I was so scared to fail on PA until my Mentor said just turn it bc i was overthinking it . 😂 only 2 classes i had the PA come back and it was like 2 sections.
Hi Alex, been following you for months now. Your videos are so helpful! I'm starting my WGU term 12/1/24 (Business Admin Management). After transferring my associates and Ace credits i have 39 credits left (12 courses). How likely is this in 1 term with a full time job? Thank you so much!
It’s totally dependent on how much you study how well you study. If you’re spending atleast 2 hours a day studying you can get it done in 1 term for sure it’s an achievable pace and time frame.
I am just starting and am a little confused. What if my PA isn't unlocked until I complete the assigments? I want to do the PA straight into the OA method, so how does that work if the PA isn't unlocked until I do all the dumb assignments
WGU is the most hackable school. TESU is very hackable if you have 24 college credits somewhere and 90 ACE Credits. WGU can actually be done in 1-2 terms without ACE Credits. And with 70-90 ACE Credits, 1-2 terms is almost a certainty.
I would go on there website look at the degree you want to take, then look at which classes you already have because they will transfer in. Sometimes classes like patho won’t transfer in unless you’ve taken it within 5 years. Then i would look at wgu partners and look at which classes transfer in from sophia based on the ones you still need. I hope this helps.
When you say a week per OA class (or 10 days if going slightly slower) how many hours/day are you expecting? I'm going to have a large block of time coming up where I could probably put 10 hours/day into WGU for a couple of months. Curious about how many classes I can expect to knock out
Question just curious but if you end up hacking the degree and or getting all the classes you needed to get done for the degree in less than the 6 month term do you have to wait for the term to be over or does your adviser send you your degree right after you finish?
Follow up question if I have extra time if I was to finish earlier then the term could I use that extra time to do the masters or another bachelors degree if I wanted to double major?
Great video! Two questions: How long do you expect it to take to finish the ace transferable credits before needing to start the wgu courses? Trying to plan my start date. And how long each day do you suggest we devote to the acceleration hack to do it in under a year?
ACE Credits will probably take four months if you do all the sites at the same time. Probably 5 to 5 1/2 months if you do them separately. Just my IMO, still need a lot of free time. Then WGU will take 1-2 terms if you transfer in 75+ credits. 1 Term in the C.S. program is doable, but IT Foundations and IT Applications could take a month each if you don’t transfer in CompTIA A+.
Actually, scratch that, forgot WGU got rid of those two courses in their Comp Sci program a long time ago. They are in the IT, Cyber, and Cloud degrees.
Hi Alex, I am going into the Bachelor's cybersecurity degree with no transfer credits, and I plan to spend 5-8 hours a day on it, maybe more to complete the program in 1-2 terms. I wanted to know your input on the order in which I should take the classes. I wanted to knock out the gen ed's quickly so I can just focus on the technical stuff, but my program mentor said that some people get burnt out that way.
@@alexsheppe So I just had my second meeting with her and she basically just straight up told me she won’t do that because they strongly advise against changing the degree plan already there and taking the general education credits first. I’m thinking about getting a new program mentor but I dont know. She seems limiting and wont let me do my degree how I want to. Thanks for responding and reassuring me Alex. I really appreciate that.
@aaliyahahmed3360 Push back hard enough and they will let you do what you want. But the order may not be that big of a deal. How come you don’t wanna do ACE Credits, are you getting the degree for free?
Alex, I have a question bro I have an associate degree in computer science and have 4 years experience as a c# software developer and I wanted to ask if it's a good idea for me to take software engineering degree.
What BS do you think would be easier to get if I already have Sec+ and know some CySA+ material ? Really choosing between General IT or IT Management, originally wanted Cybersec, but it looks much harder thanks💪
Go with cybersecurity, they will pay for your cysa exam and other certifications, I’m in the general accelerated program but that was bc I did not know where to start or what exactly I wanted to do at the time. If you already know what you want to specialize in, pick that specialization
Hi everyone, I'm 34 years old and planning to pursue a BA in Business Management at WGU. Since high school, I've been terrible at math and I'm struggling to improve. To prepare, I've been taking free online courses in college algebra and a combined statistics and probabilities course. However, I'm unsure if this is the best strategy. For those who have completed their BA at WGU, especially if you struggled with math, do you have any advice on how to effectively prepare? Is there a more efficient way to tackle this? My goal is to complete the degree within a year. Any tips or insights would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Previous Wgu alumni have been great at leaving little torches to guide our way. There’s plenty of Reddit threads, blogs, student made UA-cam playlists, etc. that will help you out. I just finished my last class for my BA a couple days ago and overall it’s more scary to think about starting than it is to just jump in.
I attended umpi and was completely unsatisfied with their module. You have to complete milestones and assignments before you can access the final. Also, I'm not in favor of all the writing because I do a lot of writing for my job. I want a degree fast but the choices are limited at wgu. I want to excel my career and a bachelor's degree is necessary. Which degree would you recommend between education or the psychology degree? More importantly which would be the easiest to obtain? At this point i need a degree and these are the only two that I would have interest in. Especially since they dont offer criminal justice as of yet.
1) none yet, but hoping to 2) I’d like to either become a MD and Scientist or just to become a Scientist 3)I’ve heard WGU graduates you with a 3.0 when you accelerate, is this true? How can I accelerate my medical and scientific path when those institutions typically want more prestigious credentials?
So one of the degree hacking guy, wanted to charge me $1500 for a hacking guide, he said that jobs will ask for transcripts, therefore he wouldn't recommend sophia or study, just hack WGU , what are your thoughts?
@@alexsheppe thank you, unfortunately there a bunch of people trying to squeeze out money. On a different subject, what is the best way to complete the touchstone assignments for Sophia, I am not the best writer. Any suggestions please?

If you want to be a Medical Doctor, WGU probably isn’t the correct program. You’ll need a GPA much higher than 3.0.
So if gpa matters what program should I do? Wgu, tesu, or umpi? Or tamcu
Can you give some more context? WGU comes with an automatic 3.0 GPA Equivalent.
