Was a huge fan of CODMW, because it had LAN support and we could play locally without getting online.

Short, sweet, to the point, and entertaining. Solid vid dude, also appreciate you mentioning the iconic soundtrack, definitely an underappreciated aspect.

I think a lot of it had to do with coming out at the right time. It was a healthy amount in to the 7th gen so tons of people had those consoles, it had a much greater emphasis on the multiplayer aspect compared to COD 4, and that's kind of when multiplayer gaming started to become the norm as opposed to an extra tacked on feature. Not to mention being the sequel to an extremely successful shooter by itself.

So true, I always liked the term that MW2 was “peak Xbox 360” which honestly is so true just because of how many people were playing the 360 at the time. It was also because I think people saw people making videos online which helped bring more attention to it, kinda like what happened to Minecraft back in the day.

@@Altjake97 Yes absolutely. UA-cam also really started exploding in popularity during that time as well as gaming videos. So yeah just a huge culture shift during that era.

I love how over-the-top MW2 was. Like, it didn't take itself too seriously and I loved it. And I don't care if it was "unbalanced". The reason I stick with vanilla MW2 is because IW4X servers try too hard to balance something that just can't be balanced. Like most servers play around with the time-to-kill and ban all special grenades and launchers, which allows Snipers to dominate. Call of Duty players will always go for the cheapest methods, so why fuck around with the formula? lol

Honestly I love how unbalanced it was, just the pure chaos was truly amazing

@@Altjake97 I'm an unapologetic Thumper user simply because it's a great anti-camper tool. If I see someone camping in a building, I pull out the thumper and just bloop them into oblivion xD
RPGs also make great anti-camper weapons

i was only able to get a tact nuke by playing groundwar with danger close, scavengar, and whatever the fuck yellow perk was. I really think thats why I am the way I am today xD

The only nuke I ever got was with dual shotguns and it was just a fluke 😅

MW also allowed kids to mouth off to random internet strangers without getting their asses beat for it. I think this started the birth of the keyboard warriors who behaved with no consequences. Seriously, I wish we could find stats for how many school shootings might have been the result of a conversation gone awry during an online game.
