Yeah, we are a little late (go figure) to getting this out. But! It's not as late as normal! Day 0 we really wanted to baby the car and try to get the 55 down the track with out hurting anything since we are a little gun shy due to recent events. The track prep wasn't idea since it was SO hot, but we still got down and were the fastest of the day. Enjoy as we kick off this brand new event!

Dennis is amazing, if this is his brain without sleep. Give him 3-8hr nights sleep. Watch out! You guys were almost slap happy, it’s like falling off the couch funny. The Honeymooner kind of funny! I did watch it straight through, what fun! Love you guys so much!!!❤❤❤

That was a different ending! The fun part of these events is finding those that are addicted to problem solving. The ones that stick around for the full data on the problem are good friends. Complex problems take a while to debug.

I am really interested to find out what the actual cause of the melted pistons ends up being. If the cylinder is going really lean and the egt's aren't showing this on the log that has to be so confusing. Good luck with finding the problem as this definitely one for the books. I have no idea of what components you are using for the sensors but I wonder if the EGT sensor is too slow to respond to a transient lean spike?

I guess it doesn’t matter that they had to go back and get the car and trailer, go BACK to the city where the car was, then drive it all the way back to Arkansas, get the Camaro out and ready for Power Tour, go home, pack and leave for her next event. Yeah, she’s gonna get that video loaded up so people like you aren’t put out. And as for Meg, who also uploads the videos, lets talk about her schedule. After loading the ‘55, she and Nolan were off to Virginia so she could do another job of shooting the NPK race. But, sorry they’re not catering to YOU!!! 🙄

Hello Alex , if you still would like to try an intake - 8X engine cubic inch is recommended 500ci 4000cfm or a tunnel ram
What is the box on the firewall with the row of LEDS on top? Looks to be flopping like a fish when you launch. Might not be good for the witing to flex that way.
An injector driver box I think. I'm sure it's an temporary mounting for test, it sits in front of a similar box mounted solid to the fire wall. Remember they have been fighting injector problems resulting in melted pistons.

It all sounds very promising but I'm thinking about that windshield. I don't recall anything about it being improved to avoid another failure at 212 MPH. Did you change something?
They did put a center bar in to support the windshield, plus this windshield is US polycarbonate. The mfg. has tri five's running over 225 mph with this material.

Is the Cylinder 5 melting issue a fuel flow in the fuel rail issue? Didn't Tom Bailey have repeated similar issues that he fixed by reconfiguring his fuel rail plumbing? That said, I'm a wiring guy, not an engine guy.

I think you need to get a Steve morris engine to solve your problems
The engine builder is not the issue. She has a fine builder - the core issue is trying to get a heavy car down the track in the lower sixes. Notice that none of the big tire cars obtained their goals this year. This is a really hard task for 4500hp engines. Driving creates harmonics that a drag car is not designed to do. Steve is a great builder. But he would tell you that there are many fine builders out there. Go pick one. Tuning is the critical part for a car program.

We know you are really really busy. But when you are at events NHRA, Sick week, whatever you really should give timely (yes daily even) updates, They could be teasers by your sister for more in depth video no more than two days later. We can generally find out what happened to you from Steve or Tom instead of waiting for yours. Probably means you are missing out on views. Fix that part of your UA-cam presence and then you could probably use the join function to get members and a nice stream of $$ to pay for more parts
When exactly would like her to find time to do that? Especially daily? Would you like her to do it between tuning the car, working on the car, racing the car, driving the car down the highway or would you rather she sacrifice eating dinner or not get any rest? Kind of the same thing with Meg, she is shooting pics and videoing all day, with really no down time. She didn’t even get to go home after Sick Summer as she had to move on to the NPK race in Virginia and shoot that also.
