Hello there, sorry for the delay. I got mine from an aquarium store, but if you have access to a pond you should be able to cultivate some. This stuff is like a plague, I only keep it with my guppies, it would grow into a thick mat, so be ready to keep it in check.

What kind of cfl bulbs are you using? I've been searching everywhere for a brand that last long and gives out perfect spectrum for a plants need
Sorry for the delay, I gave those bulbs to my brother. I will ask him about the brand, but they were a generic brand, nothing special
Also I have since upgraded the lighting to LED, and again they are a generic brand that gave me the results y wanted.

+Dave Allen yes, they do need a light source. I had a pair of Daylight bulbs, and it was growing at a good rate.
