Thinking of Mrs. O tonight. It’s been a year since the video, since I recently found your channel I’m behind. I hope she’s doing better and feeling better. Your in my prayers. I love your channel. Mrs O seems like a great woman and warrior! God, please ease her struggles. You really put in work on that post very impressive. Blessings to all the O fam. 🌲❄️🔦
You and your dad just amaze me. You work so well together, you are so smart in the things you come up with and your skills with the chain saw are amazing. Love watching you two. Blessings to your both and the family, stay safe. See you back here soon.
You are an outstanding videographer. Your videos are easy to watch and follow and you don't waste time with redundancies. I watch all your episodes and look forward to the next ones. Keep up the good work and God Bless.
The process of marking the column to the wall logs is called scribing. In boatbuilding, log home construction and various types of theatre and film carpentry, scribing is an immensely useful joinery skill. Good workmanship.
@outsider I want take this time out to thank you for how in detail you share all your information..to the New/B..that..in time plan there..outside life style...Thank you. Cedric W....may you stay safe and keep enjoying..Gods blessing.
I knew you had to have patience to do this build but wow when I saw what went into making those cuts for that support beam, really brought it to light. Especially doing it with a chain saw. Goes to show what amazing builders you and your father are and the quality of work you both do. Very impressive. Great video as always Outsider and thanks for the bonus of your father's quick appearance at the end. God bless you and your family always
Thank you my friend. It's a labor of love, that's for sure. :) Would have been WAY quicker to just install the column 'as is', but I wouldn't have been happy with that. I figure for every 1 day of work we show on UA-cam, we've put in another 10 days behind the scenes. Crazy to think about, but it's true. Anyway, God bless you and your family as well!
@@TheOutsiderCabin thank you for sharing that and what a blessing it is. Stay happy, healthy and safe. May God's blessings continue raining down on you and your family.
I really enjoy your videos. watching you work is relaxing as well as educational. Love the cabin, you are doing a great job. Beautiful notching of the support post. Great to see you and your Dad working together. Peace for now and stay safe.
Much appreciate my friend! ...My poor wife has been struggling with her health lately, but we have been working on making some changes that will hopefully return some normalcy to her life in the near future. Anyway, all the best to you and your family. 🙂
I can remember when I could put a log on my shoulder and stand up from a kneeling position. Now I am happy when I can get up from a kneeling position without any addition weight. Enjoy your young years. Thanks for the wonderful videos.
Much appreciated my friend. ...I've noticed that life has a way of balancing itself out though. In youth there is strength, but little experience. The aged, on the other hand, often possess hard-earned wisdom to compensate for their diminished strength. I've seen old guys put the young and strong to shame, simply because they know a "thing or two". 😆
Excellent video thank you for sharing. When I am watching a good peaceful and relaxing video it. Seems that time flies by way to fast and this video was one of them. You and your family be well and safe my friend.
To all the young people who are thinking about doing something like this......DON'T WAIT!! Follow you dreams and make it happen. If you don't, one day you'll turn around and be like me. Too damn old! Nice job!! Keep up the good work!!
Very nice job, using the compass to mark the log and a fantastic job with the chain saw. Was thinking about you and bam up popped your video, was wondering how you all were. Stay safe, be careful, take it easy and keep warm. God Bless you and yours...anxiously awaiting another video.
Wonderful Job - as always! It takes special skills to notch out and not screw up crossing the lines. Im stuck at home rebuilding closets and laying floors - lots to do to keep busy. Love that pop up cabin! Greetings from Perth Ontario Canada!
Thank you so much for the video! Since I cannot get to my cabin, it is especially comforting to watch you working on yours! Hope all are well and safe! May God bless and keep you!
watching you doing what id love to do but cant because i went from healthy to disabled right when my life should have started gives me a lot of comfort and healing. thank you for your videos.
Love when you put up a new video don't know why but, I find your content very soothing not to mention very interesting. Blessings to you and your families. 🙂🇺🇸
Looking forward to those plans TOS. Your cabin will be spectacular when it is all done...waiting on that final (relatively speaking) video. Stay safe and GOD bless!

Good for for you...showing that log who is boss! We still have snow in Alberta, too. Cabin is looking fantastic! 😉🇨🇦 love how you work with your dad...i know my son puts up with my (age) limitations when we hike and camp. Families can be everything! 💜
Your hand work is impeccable. So reminds me of my late dad. God rest his soul. Waiting on the pop up design. Great project with grandkids. Y’all stay safe & healthy. God bless you & yours. As always, thank you for sharing your expertise. ❤️ from 🇺🇸 😊. PS I really like your snowmobile camper.

Was senior your videographer for the cabin portion of this episode? Thank you for this video. Trusting that you and your family are well and sequestered from the world. Protect your family from Covid-19. Wishing you Peace, health and happiness.
The Cabin is going to look So Beautiful! The way she went through the winter and still standing there, so Majestic in a Forest.. I already can hear children's footsteps walking around inside asking if he of she may play outside on the pile of snow that is the Winters slide next to the house.. 🤗 O boy..... the thought of this is at the same time as beautiful as sad because we won't have your video's and peaceful voice and always helping dad and Granddad there.. as you both make me feel so relaxt as can be.. What is that about this Channel.. I wondered many times.. But I guess that on all good things must come a halt.. someday.
Well my friend , the project is really coming together but there is still a lot to do. Watching you work with the metal lathing on a previous episode reminded me of my efforts back in 1963 to 67. My Parents already had a log cottage built in 1854 & moved to or site in 1934. Each year we had to repair the cement chinking between the logs as a result of freeze up & melt. Thus when I constructed our next cabin ,also built originally in 1854, I wanted to improve on the chinking durability. Like you purchased 4x8 sheets of metal lathing . I cut them into 8 inch strips ,curved them & forced them between the logs on both sides. The cement chinking was forced through from both sides until they met & there was plenty of natural drying time before the whole building was enclosed. It is now about 55 years since that work & we have not hat to repair one bit of that chinking. Thought you might find this of some interest. Your doing a fine job & I admire the way you & your dad work together. Stay safe with al the virus challenges we are having. Thanks Brian 79

I agree with you Outsider, I have much more patience now when working on a project then when I was young. Also know some smarter way to do things.
