Yeah I saw other guys who completely froze up in tense situations and had no idea what even went down. This man went through it pretty smoothly and got out of the surprise situations well too. Tiszteletem amúgy.

I think he could have excelled at any number of things if he'd taken a different career path than climbing.
I served 12 years on a SWAT team and you have a natural instinct. The one corner you realized that your barrel was protruding and pulled back thus exposing your position. That is marvelous from a non operator. I will go into battle with you anywhere! I also offer my respect to the Norwegian military, they are squared away! Great video!
I love how Magnus is very respectful and takes this very seriously. Even if it is an exercise and likely modified for his sake, he never gives it less than his all and does not treat it as a joke.

Now I wonder who filmed you and how everything went, like a behind the scenes or introducing the people. And that looked really badass, ngl. Also the guys from the military all seemed like pretty nice and chill people.
There's a reason why the UK Royal Marines and Special Forces are trained in Norway with/by the Norwegian Forces: they're some of the best in the world, and the environment is one of the harshest and toughest! It was great to see that they seem to employ Mixed Martial Arts (boxing, jiu jitsu, etc) in their hand-to-hand combat training, and I feel this is absolutely necessary. I loved that the dog had little "socks" or "boots" on his feet lol, though I imagine this is a safety precaution. Dogs are certainly a man's best friend, but I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of their duty! lol Thank you Magnus for giving us an insight into the Norwegian Coastal Ranger Commandos, and thank you to them for allowing this to happen! These dudes are amazing, and I'd love to see more! Love and respect from the UK, and here's to a long continued friendship between UK and Norway! 🤘
I used to be in military (elite unit not special force), now i get in to climbing for 3 month now and still stuck on 6B. you inspiring me to do climbing, thank you!!!
Flip, Magnus, you are just a natural, those movements, I imagine your stamina also shocked your trainers, as you are just another level compared to a normal civilian. Fantastic video. You've inspired me to join a local Thai boxing place to learn some self defense as well ❤
Dude the insane story arc of "just" being an amazing climber, then to doing huge collab videos to now this? What the fuck man. Awesome job Magnus. For real man, incredible.
One thing I appreciate about Magnus is how his channel has changed. Many artists - especially UA-cam creators - get trapped by an identity they developed early on in their work. A lot of them burn out. Magnus, I respect that you’re not letting that early identity hold you back from who you want to become. Full support bro.
I agree, and my friend from Finnland told me once that all the tv shows are in eng with subtitles and that's why basically everyone learns English from watching tv. ^^ Oh, and we here in Switzerland have four national languages and speak English on top of that, but most of the time I use English and French and Swiss German ofc :D Cheers
While the Scandinavian education system is really good and progressive, this probably has a lot to do with Norway being part of NATO as well. Especially as specialized forces, you do need to be fit in English. English is used for all international communication, on exercises and maneuvers. And on real missions as well, obviously.
@@Nitidus not really. Non-military speak about the same level as seen in this video here. Might be different with some older people, though. The amount of nato exercises the average soldiers experience wouldn't be enough to make a huge difference. Germans and French are nato also, and the population there is far worse at speaking English. Has a lot to do with how few people speak norwegian, same with Danish and Dutch et.
Besides primary school we learn english through movies, tv shows and computer games pretty early. We dont do voice over on our movies (thank Odin) but subtitles.
Magnus,if you read this great,if not oh well...but as a person who practices or at least studies hand to hand combat every single day and teaches as well I have to say you have got a giant set on you man. The stuff you went through on this and multiple other videos is seriously difficult and dangerous and although I'm sure you were frightened (if not you are stupid) you gave max effort, like you are known for and it is seriously truly impressive. Thank you for the phenomenal content you continue to provide!!!
This is insane! Now, that is what I call quality content. Thank you, Magnus, and, of course, thanks to the Coastal Ranger Commando for the very fascinating insight they enabled Magnus to experience, and by extension, us as viewers.
I'm not a climber, but I was in the military so I guess that's why UA-cam suggested the channel, loved all of them. Magnus does a great job of getting stuck in and being really professional too, great content. The dog was badass too.
Magnus it would be awesome to see english subtitles for the few moments you guys speak norwegian! I'm so proud of you for passing the test to do this mission. You really are an elite athlete with incredible strength and an even better attitude.
Kudos to Norwegian Coastal Ranger Command for allowing Magnus to become part of their team, provide great training especially the cover the head test. Magnus responded well for a civilian with minimal training. If Magnus ever gets tired of his UA-cam channel he would make a great Coastal Ranger.
20:05 - I love how the dog's trained not to bark when finding the explosives, presumably not to allert potential enemies! Or maybe I'm just reading into that too much!
I am so happy for Magnus that he gets to do these things and share them with his almost 2 million subscribers. I can still remember the first vlogs in their house which they were renovating. Amazing how far he's come!
This is truly the best channel on UA-cam. The filming, the editing, the actual video content, and then of course Magnus' personality are all perfect for good videos.

Magnus, your ability to access and provide us glimpses of exclusive and highly restricted corners of the world is unrivaled. It's uncanny how seamlessly you fit into any environment -- this resembles more of a 'day in the life' rather than 'guest trainee' video (that slight jump at 17:50 was the most obvious sign that you may not be a combat-tested Spec Ops soldier, and it wasn't that obvious). The production value is top-notch as always. Astounding. Also, 10:04 that CS:GO clip looks so realistic (haha)

Great video, I like how you don't ruin the vibe and the moment with too much talking, you keep it for the pauses and breaks, great stuff, it felt better than watching a documentary for me. Hope this grows more.
It’s crazy to think of how well trained you are when I remember you were only a climber in the past. You learned well and carried yourself as well as anyone trained in milsim/military-esque situations.

@@goodputin4324 Not really. To us Americans, they'd be equal to our Marine Corps, maybe even Army Rangers
They'd definetly be the edge above the marine corps. The marines are a well trained bunch but these guys are special forces, and damn good at it at that. Not familiar with rangers enough to say anything about them.@@derpyduck5088
I am in the Hungarian BL KMZ (for 11 years now), and let me mention, I am amazed by how well you did, I also watched a couple of your videos, because you really got my interest. I have never ever during my 11 years seen someone like this. I am probably for the first time amazed haha. Most people just don't have this in them.
Yeah I saw other guys who completely froze up in tense situations and had no idea what even went down. This man went through it pretty smoothly and got out of the surprise situations well too.
Tiszteletem amúgy.
szia én kondolkodom hogy hol kéne elkezdenem ezt a katonai karriert vagy tek-et. Ha nem nagy baj tudnál pár kérdésemre válaszolni? előre is köszi :Đ
I think Magnus is obviously an incredibly capable guy generally. He's very fit, clearly, but on top of that has a very calm and level-headed approach to things and is very situationally aware.
From climbing to real mission in special forces! It's great to see this channel grow!
Yeah it is crazy what he get to do!! KJK is btw not special forces :)
@@Endumattis I see, my bad. It's still impressive nonetheless.
its training not a real mission
@@dawidpelc4775training counts as real missions. Literally called training missions lol. The US military does this constantly.
Yeh real mission with fake guns and a cameramanon the boat at the top floor waiting for them very good real mission
I started climbing because of this channel, and i just want to say i did my first one arm pull up yesterday :)
thanks magnus

Damn, that’s impressive, congrats!
Congratulations.
Damn 1 arm! hey you dropped this *👑* Keep it going king!
so cool to see the dog being lifted and he was pretty aware of whats goin on...these guys are badass!!
He has a little helmet too
@@matthewhedrick5536 And ear mufflers :)
Also noticed one of the guys carrying a small oxygen tank bundle of sorts (or other gas)
I love how Magnus is very respectful and takes this very seriously. Even if it is an exercise and likely modified for his sake, he never gives it less than his all and does not treat it as a joke.
Love the inclusion of the malinois, Military working dogs are an amazing asset that don’t often get recognition especially for where there able to go and what there able to take it’s also funny work is just like one big game to them. PS between climbing and trying stuff like this your probably one of the most well rounded and most badass UA-camrs I can think of keep up the great work
I'm absolutely fascinated by this comment, well done sir.
Coolest head gear on a dog ever!! Also, Magnus you are the most bad ass climber out there!!!!
It's got lil boots too. Fucking chad
I was struck by that too. Were those blinders (as well perhaps as protection)? Seems it might be easier on the dog if it just couldn't see the crazy position it was in until it was over the rail on deck...
@@peteranelson seems like its for protection and to prevent hearing damage from gunshots
The gimp mask 😂
@@peteranelson The helmet has earpro, eyepro, a rail for a tactical light or IR-light, also you can attach a dog muzzle.
Quite ''must have'' on any type of CQB, VBSS etc.
"Are we gonna pet the dog?" 😂
The best part of this is how nervous Magnus looks and yet how he keeps pushing forward. There's no courage without fear. We saw the same thing when he free soloed with Alex Honnold.
it's amazing, this dude could've been an amazing special ops solider or full climber, he choose the latter but had full potential to do either. This man is a legend, Magus, you're the shit.
With 28 years of jiu jitsu on my back I am honestly amazed how Magnus did in the tactical scenarios! Great Job, Magnus!
Magnus is a lost asset to the spec ops community, but good for the audience he ended up doing what he does. What a talented, focused an able young man. Respect.
honestly this is the type of promotion/showcase video the army needs. showcasing the hard work and mentality needed to join. big props to everyone!
What a fantastic series! Definitely my favorite of the military ones so far. Best part was when the dog takes Magnus down and the scene is all intense, then a second later the dog is sitting there happily smiling and wagging its tail 😂
These service dogs are amazing
J😊
and before that scene magnus asked if he has to pet the dog next scene hes in full gear waiting for the dog😂
I just realized... The production quality and value of this is insane. I was thinking first how you could record that, but you had like 2 camera angles of everything and inside shots before entering rooms. Now I wonder who filmed you and how everything went, like a behind the scenes or introducing the people.
And that looked really badass, ngl. Also the guys from the military all seemed like pretty nice and chill people.
As a Finnish coastal ranger, this warms my heart. Good to have great neighbours as Swedes and Norwegians.
Happy you guys are finally with us in NATO ❤
I just love how well Norwegians speak English, I have been there many times for vacation and everyone speaks English almost like a native speaker.
Dogs are certainly a man's best friend, but I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of their duty! lol
Thank you Magnus for giving us an insight into the Norwegian Coastal Ranger Commandos, and thank you to them for allowing this to happen!
You've inspired me to join a local Thai boxing place to learn some self defense as well ❤
This could be on TV, great camera work and Magnus smashed it as always. Nice work guys!
Im impressed how people in Norway speak fluent English language! Nice video
I agree, and my friend from Finnland told me once that all the tv shows are in eng with subtitles and that's why basically everyone learns English from watching tv. ^^
Oh, and we here in Switzerland have four national languages and speak English on top of that, but most of the time I use English and French and Swiss German ofc :D
Cheers
Perhaps the most epic video series of 2023. Well done, Magnus and team.
Norwegian military is in my opinion the most badass military in the world, you did incredible Magnus well done and keep up the good work!
This is insane! Now, that is what I call quality content. Thank you, Magnus, and, of course, thanks to the Coastal Ranger Commando for the very fascinating insight they enabled Magnus to experience, and by extension, us as viewers.
Magnus is like a video game protagonist, somehow good at everything
That seems right!
I am so happy for Magnus that he gets to do these things and share them with his almost 2 million subscribers. I can still remember the first vlogs in their house which they were renovating. Amazing how far he's come!
That last scene is absolute fire. Your grin says it all! Well done, M. Super proud of you and your hard work (and bravery).
That dog moment at 19:50 when you see his tail wagging and looking up at the handler like "Am I doing good? :D". Too wholesome.
This is truly the best channel on UA-cam. The filming, the editing, the actual video content, and then of course Magnus' personality are all perfect for good videos.
Everything is prefect but the music 😂
I like how they didn't give you the expensive NVG set. Both a cost saving measure (you are more likely to bump into something with them) as to make it easier to identify you.
That said. Completely badass that you did it. Respect.

Astounding.
Also,
10:04 that CS:GO clip looks so realistic (haha)
This was incredible to watch, huge props to the soldiers who helped and trained you, but also props to you for enduring the training like a boss
Hey Magnus, I just recently found your videos and I'm absolutely loving it all, can't get enough, you are inspiring. Im not a climber other than what I've done while on random adventures in the mountains and climbing alot of trees as a kid but now I want to get in to it more, just looks like so much fun! I can tell you are kinda an introvert but you really seem like a genuinely fun and kind person so thank you for sharing your life with the world. Keep up the good work!
I think this is the coolest series you've done yet and that is saying something. Not only is the content awesome, but the camera angles, editing, and music are so immersive. Plus the gorgeous location. AND a good puppy to top it all off. Perfect
Much respect. And I am pretty sure no one wants to fight against a well trained crew like this.
It was a "real mission", and they sent the cameraman first up the ladder? This thing with "the cameraman never dies" is getting absolutely ridiculous!🤣
Yeah 😅😅😅
Production and story telling was fantastic these videos, especially when you're actually in the middle of physical challenges, tests, training and all the action.
It's nice to see our Norwegian brothers using the Swedish Combat Boat 90 (or SB90N as it is designated there). Fingers crossed for NATO acceptance soon!

This episode did not disappoint, Magnus! Excellent videography, editing, content - and of course the star of the video - the DOG! They brought the dog on the mission with his own military-issue booties and mask! Insane entertainment! 👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥
Protecting the dog's identity with a mask was a smart move
This has to be the best ad for the Norweigan armed forces ever. I think the large majority of UA-camrs (even athletes) are far too silly to do something like this. Seriously good quality content, Magnus.
Yeah, I think part of the reason why the production quality is so high on these videos, apart from magnus just being very good at this, is this is definitely being helped by the military themselves as a publicity campaign probably. Win win, magnus gets to make a cool video, the military gets a good ad
one of the coolest videos ever man, this series has been illuminating. what an awesome opp and challenge for you magnus, congrats

There were so many times where I thought, "The Sergent is going to yell at him for clearing corners incorrectly.", but I'm glad they just let him enjoy the experience. This was a great video.
Im not sure yelling makes a better team.
Yelling is not really a normal part of learning in Norway.
Agreed.
I had some ptsd about those corners
Yelling is definitely not part of the curriculum on these levels. It's like the SAS and SBS. They explain what to do and allows you to execute to the best of your ability, and take notes accordingly. That's all it takes.
Love this Magnus. You should come hang out with the U.S. Coast Guard sometime
I have been to Norway several times. In my opinion it has some of the most beautiful landscapes anywhere.
