    i made one with a figi water bottle and corn syrup, beads and glitter. So first u fill up the figi bottle about 2/4 full with corn syup. then if u want food coloring in there u can put whatever color u like but just put 1 drop of food coloring. tHen after that i put different types of sequins,glitter, and beads.Next ihot glued the cap on so the cornsyrup mix wouldnt leak, then took of the label on the ater bottle. also dont forget to drink the water

    What could be fun too is you could decorate the tops before gluing them onto the actual bottle to match what is inside, like coating the glitter one in the glitter, or painting them with different color spray paint so they are easy to tell apart when looking down at the nifty caddy. :)

    Do you think baby oil would work instead of the glycerin? I haven't been able to find glycerin yet.

    • @ThePurpleAlphabet
      @ThePurpleAlphabet  8 років тому +1

      I don't think so.... oil is a bit different in density. I put a link to in in the description box if you'd like to buy it off amazon. If not, I'd check the baking sections of the grocery store. It's pretty common for baking.

  • @misterkister123
    @misterkister123 7 років тому +1

    Will the contents of the bottles mold over time? Or does the glycerin keep that from happening? You could also use wax in the bottle (GLASS) and put it on one of those low temp, USB powered cup warmers....voila, instant lava lamp! (Minus the lamp part)

    Another thing you can do is if you are not giving it to a toddler or child is to use jam jars and other jars. They are glass so you do have to be careful but that way you are reusing things. Or you could just use plastic bottles but I find those too crinkly.

    Why use distilled water? What makes a difference?

  • @blackbeauty0912
    @blackbeauty0912 8 років тому

    I want to make lamp bases out of these with the glitter for my living from. If I put a lot of glycerin in will that keep the glitter from settling? I want the glittery movemen in water effect, but I don't want to have to be shaking my lamps all the time...or ever actually! What is the glycerin to water ratio that I should use in order for no settling to occur?

    • @ThePurpleAlphabet
      @ThePurpleAlphabet  8 років тому

      +blackbeauty0912 No, I'm sorry... The glycerin is to help the glitter from sticking together. It will still settle at the bottom.

    You're intro music is a bit much. Way too loud and busy-sounding. Great bottles though. I want to make some myself!

    I thought you were going to put some of the things ON the bottles. Like a couple of strips of pipe cleaner, a couple of small beads, a couple of fish tank beads and glitter. I must not understand the concept. I thought a sensory jar was for a variety of sensation.
