Still not seeing too many of the new Tacomas in my area.

Dealer' lots are full of 2024 and they're starting to give $3 to $6k off to make room for the 2025 ones.

They certainly did a lot better with the Tacoma than they did with the Tundra. The engine has proven reliable but then that engine has been used in other models for a couple years so it’s been tested. A hiccup with the early transmissions was a problem. Other than minor issues, for a first year of a new model it’s been pretty good. I like the looks of the Tacoma. It’s more of an updated of the gen 3 look than an all new look. Way better looking than the Tundra! BTW, my 2020 Tacoma just went over a 100,000 miles with zero issues. It runs as good if not better than when it was new. The oil gets changed every 5000 miles and transmission fluid at 60,000 miles. I would expect no less from the new Tacoma and I believe it will deliver!

Thanks for your review. I love mine. I’ve had it a month. With all the comments about the engine, I thought truck was bad. I have several Lexus cars and never had a truck. You are right this engine is fun to drive in a truck and very fast !

I have 3100 miles on my 2024 Tacoma. So far, the only issue I've had is with the finicky head unit. It works when it wants to. It could be a conflict with the Android Auto software. Or it could be that I did not buy the subscription you need to make it work. I am not going to pay for something that should be free.

I absolutely love my 4th gen! It is really quick to get up to speed and no more gear hunting! Almost 10k miles on it so far and relatively few problems. It handles amazing in snow and bad weather.
Your truck is looking great Rob! Love the wheels and stance on your truck!

i have a vinyl tonneau cover on my 95 gmc pickup that rolls into a case at the front. There is never any water in the box when it's extended. Old tech is sometimes better.

I’ve only seen a few of these new Tacomas on the road. Too expensive, I wouldn’t buy it. I’ll keep my 2016 forever

Vinyl tri fold tonneau cover on my 24 Tacoma and no water in the bed. It’s a cheap Lund that I had on my 22 off road, believe it cost me about 400. In Canada. 25000km on my truck since May, not a single issue.

How many miles do you have? I just picked up my 24 Tacoma TRD OFF ROAD ice cap white with the upgrade package a couple days ago and absolutely love this thing! The power seats on these give you way more comfortability and adjustment than previous gen. I traded in my 22 TRD OFFROAD with premium and tech package and so glad I did so far! Only time will tell with these trucks though. I don't have a single complaint yet though! The power, the comfort, the features, the looks, it's just amazing!! It was more like a game winning grand slam for me! Lol

I got an Oedro on amazon for $400 that was intended for the 3rd gen, fit perfectly fine on my new 4th gen, no water leaks observed.

The 38 Tacoma's that are currently sitting on my lot, (some for over 80 days), says otherwise.
I'm glad you love it and others do too, but the fact is Toyota is in a lot of trouble with these things (Tundra's too). The crazy pricing, build quality and unknown reliability is certainly crushing sales not to mention Toyota's reputation.
Good thing is with 2025's currently in F-Status and being Allocated around the country, expect BIG #'s off MSRP across the board on 2024's.

How do you drag yourself to work everyday with such disdain for the product you represent?

@@RobMotive I've worked for Toyota for over 13 years, Rob. I own a Toyota ('24 4Runner TRD PRO). However, I'm not a "youtuber" like yourself so I don't need to blindly promote a product for clicks. I have no problem being honest about my product. I have told all my friends and family what Toyota's to stay away from. However I don't tell people how to spend their money, I'll gladly take whatever money they want to spend it on. I stand behind the Rav4, Prius, Camry, Corolla and Rav4...but the Toyota truck-lineup and bigger SUV's (soon to be 4Runner) have become a joke with pricing and build quality. I love the people I work with so I do not "disdain" anything". When people want to spend $50-$60K+ on a 4-cylinder turbo that sounds like a weedwhacker with a rattling glovebox, uneven gaps and a TSB for bad transmissions...i just smile, shake their hand and gladly take their $$$$.

I’m really just curious. So do you honestly disclose your thoughts to potential Toyota truck buyers before you hold out your hand and take their money? Do you tell them they would be better off buying another truck from a different dealer? Or, given your beliefs about the trucks, do you simply refuse to sell the trucks so you can sleep at night? How do you reconcile this conundrum?

    • @joetaravella13

@@RobMotive did you not read what I just wrote above? People are going to buy whatever they want..who am I to tell them not to? They're strangers. My friends and family..yes I do voice my opinion and concerns. Luckily this issue does not pop up much because like i mentioned, hardly anyone comes in looking for a Tacoma or Tundra these days. My top sales guys were just talking about this earlier today. They used to sell 5+ Tacomas a month with the 3rd gens...all 3 of them could count on one hand how many they've sold since the 4th Gen has come out. These guys have been with Toyota for over 10+ years as I have been. It used to be Toyota's flagship, like the Land Cruiser..now it's become their achilles heel.

    • @RobMotive

So bottom line, if I’m reading between the lines correctly, since they are not family or friends you have no issue holding back your beliefs from them to make a buck? Now since you accuse me of only doing what I do for clicks, isn’t this hypocritical? If you watch my videos then you know I disclose the good and the bad. Perhaps dogging the product here eases your conscience? Particularly since you don’t even own a Tacoma.

Your choice of upgrades/mods make the truck look unique and stunning; the only thing I would do different is have black wheel fenders, other than that it's beautiful. Hoping my local dealer will discount the 24 SR5 4x4 by New Years, then will pull the trigger.

I’ll give them a ground rule double at best. If they offered the PreRunner in 4WD, I would be willing to talk triple. If they did it and also included a V6 option, I would say they went yard. 😂

I agree with you Rob. The 2024 Tacoma is a home run! I sold my 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport because the seating position(even with the seat jackers) was uncomfortable and because of the throttle lag and gear hunting. The 4th gen is truly a lot more fun to drive.
