@@stevesmyth5673 well I can tell your attitude by that comment and I'll tell you that you're the kind of person that makes the tool fanbase a meme. But for your information I am in a band and we do have quite prominent bass.
saw a girl dance to this song at a strip club once. how she was able to keep up with the time signatures is beyond me, but damnit if it wasn't the sexiest thing I ever saw.
I don't know how many times I have listened to this, but it still gives me chills like the first time I heard it, can a song truly be perfect? I think this one is close.
4 great musicians. Chancellor is a phenomenal bassist. Adam is a solid guitar player with an amazing right hand. Maynard is the best metal singer since Robert plant. And Danny Carey belongs in the pantheon of Great drummers. Right there with bonham, Peart, portnoy etc. or maybe he should be at the top. No one pays the drums like Carey. He sounds so unique.
Dude the bass is so tight in this song & you know only Adam Jones would think of that solo! Tool is irreplacable.. Glad we have new music coming!! Can't wait to hear Danny's drum parts! It gets me hard, if we're allowed to be honest..
+explodingpuppy well it did originally come out on CD... it's not unheard of even though people now download. not to mention people still buy records too.
+Kevin Glass I really don't think he was confused about that. first ep in 1992 they got together in 1991 and this song was on 10,000 days from 2006. which was 9 years ago. hmm 2006 I had a cd player then still.
Danny is such a bad ass drummer that you didn't even notice he switched from a warriors to spurs jersey half way through the song. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 What a great performance...
I play it on the bass, its not to bad some parts your right, there crazy... Just listen to it a few times and fallow the drums and bass. That's what I do. Hope you learn it man, its fucking awesome
Zach Wood your telling me. First time I watched this video and heard the bass drop I shit my self. Then when Justin busts out some crazy off the wall crazy bass skills. Speechless best song live I've ever heard.
Andy Guy CantYouLift I'd love to play drums, ecpecilly tool. Just learned third eye on the bass, that took a while. Finally got a new distortion peddle to so I'm fooling with that. Let me know how it goes. Third eye seems intense, you should try tiade on the drums to.

alright message to all bass players!!!! at 4:12 what are the tabs to Justin bass drop or solo, what ever? gotta know it. I'm just playing the d string from 9.7.6.5.4.3.2.2 it I just realized its not that. help me out here drunk as fuck

Dude i didnt fucking know. Thanks so much!
su z thanks buddy
One of the aspects I like about this band is how the bass guitar is so much more on the front instead of in the back as usual. Absolutely love it.
Only other band I can think of like that is New Order.
Rush was like that.....Iron Maiden to some extent. Chancellor's sound is so dirty yet precise....LOVE that combo
Yeah no ones ever done that before
Fat Bob well we know you haven’t. Have you sweetie?

The Wandering Internet Wizard very true lol
4:05 one of the greatest breakdowns of all time
Absolutely phenomenal
I always tap out that rhythm when I'm bored

sing it with me dear freinds :
"Shine on forever.
Shine on benevolent sun.
Shine on upon the broken.
Shine until the two become one."

I almost think 10,000 days is my favorite album of tools. Love the new ones and loves the old ones just as much. But these songs are really deep.

Tyler Jacobson v
Haake probably the only one close enough to Carey's genius.
Tyler Jacobson you're very incorrect about a lot of what you just said
I wouldn’t call Robert Plant a metal singer
@@oscarsmith8307 there's this thing called an opinion
Maynard still sounds good for his age.
It's all that wine lol
+Enjoyer1987 I love how he is wearing a suit while drinking his magickal wine at a concert. Talk about being just amazing.
hey dude give him some credit,he´s still young, listen to ian gillian from deep purple,he is really an old guy and he still sings like a boss
Only the heavier screams have phased out of his abilities.
sexy voice!!!!
Jesus fucking Christ that break down..
Justin Allen It's so chunky.
4:04 is unreal. Shit goes down
Tht damn shit makes my neck snap.
best bass sound ever.
It's the Nestle Crunch of bass tones.

reeewwev is a great day for d
Those Riffs after that Sounds different !!
Maynard is dedicated to the song. IDGAF if he is making stacks selling wine, that dude is life long to the song.

Tool is probably the band that has been the closest to reach perfection in music... Cmon, listen to this live concert... Its perfect.
My absolute favorite TOOL song
Jesus Christ this band sounds as good live as if you were listening to the CD
Daniel Robertson The what now?
+explodingpuppy well it did originally come out on CD... it's not unheard of even though people now download. not to mention people still buy records too.

That breakdown just never gets old
One of my favorite Tool songs.

One of my favorite breakdowns and solos of all time, all simultaneously
holy shit the timing of this song.. I could never lol so sick tho.. and the melody of Maynard!!
9/4 at 208bpm. Awesome!
Nerd.
+Mike Oxlong calling him a nerd you're also calling Tool nerds because they are the masters that made this masterful song in that time signature
Sorry that you were offended.

+David Mustaine right?
JC rocked the shit out of that song!
JC really crushes it here!!
They rock the hell out of this song!!
Thank you Tool and ToolArchive!

What a great performance...
Best band in the world
It’s my goal in life to replicate that guitar and bass tone
Hogan Smock your a man of sheer will, Godspeed
4:04 volume UP !
I have seen tons of live shows by some of the best bands of all time and no one touches TOOL live they are immaculate
The bass licks between 4:10 and 4:30 are so god damn dirty. Nice improv by justin(doesn’t do it on the album version).
And with that sick talk box solo
Abhishek Kumar yea man. Cool how they brought back the talk box, something not too common nowadays and especially not common for tool.
damn i NEED some new Tool music
dm90 Everybody needs...
dm90 I don’t want it I just need it
dm90 Almost time 👍
They’re working on the artwork , should be close
August 30th

This is flawless
Favorite Tool song. Soooo powerful.
Justin’s Bass slaps you so fucking hard across the face on this song it leaves you with a broken neck. And I’m totally fine with that.
We are so lucky to have these guys find each other.
This tool is way much better than snap on, craftsman, the only tool you will ever need. 🙏🍀🇺🇸🤘
The bass is really heavy in this, also I love when Maynard dances like a stickbug
For how good he is they could at least mic Danny's cymbals a little better.
this.
true
Is suposed to sound like this, they never like to film their concerts so this is fan made
If you've ever been to a live show everything danny hits pierces your soul
So powerful words can't describe it
I'm tryin' to learn how to play this on guitar....the timing changes are ridiculous.
Tom Park I have it down on bass. Guitar is pretty repetitive compared to the bass line but still very hard.
I play it on the bass, its not to bad some parts your right, there crazy... Just listen to it a few times and fallow the drums and bass. That's what I do. Hope you learn it man, its fucking awesome

I like when Maynard goes surfing without a board or waves. Feeling the groove.
Great performance all around :D
Thank God real rockstars still exist.

Fuck I did not know he sings the solo! Sick
4:19 the same technique used by David Gilmour in Keep Talking.
