Lateralus is the best album ever. Literally not much can top what they did on that one. From start to finish its freaking incredible!!
my favourite with Aenema for sure ....even better musically .
@@BlueHopi144 but meaningfully? LAteralus explores so many philosophical and personal problems/ thoughts
@@Therevolution7 I like Lateralus a little more, but the entirety of Aenima is exploring philosophical, interpersonal, and very intriguing concepts. Eulogy, Stinkfist, Forty Six and Two, all very deep content there
sorry to be so offtopic but does anybody know a tool to log back into an Instagram account..?
I stupidly lost my account password. I would love any help you can give me!
@Jesiah Nickolas Instablaster ;)
Amazing what a giant drum set, 10 strings, and one dudes voice can accomplish.
I know right!
And a fuck ton of amps pedals and mics lol
Now describe the other members aside from Danny....
That's like 1 million dollars in music equipment
@@faridrosero6040 I’ve read Danny’s gear alone is well over a million.
Justin Chancellor still amazes me, and they were so lucky to get him after Paul left.
Who did he play for before Tool?
@@phxrsx Peach
He was the perfect replacement at the perfect time
And he's self taught
@@emptycloud2774 I'm fairly certain he's not. Most of his riffs are definitely classical-music inspired transposed on to the Phrygian mode / A and D minor scales. Nonetheless, he's the reason he's picked up my bass and would be freaking awesome if he was actually self taught....
1:09 wow that's the only bit of emotion I've seen from Adam in all my life..
LMFAO
but Adam is just brutal he doesn't need to do something. he is Adam. he can just stand there and play. he is ADAM
You may not have seen it, but you heard it
He keeps his work and life separate, but they intertwine once in a blue moon
The emotion comes through his playing
I love how Maynard stayed in the background of this the whole time. This band is one of the few bands where everybody feels like a part of a whole. In so many other bands, you'll have a guitarist that can easily be replaced, a drummer or a bassist the same. This band, nobody is a singular standout- they are just great as a collective. And this music is just fucking incredible. This album is next level. 21 years later and it is still one of the greatest albums out.
I totally agree. It's like he's saying "Hey, we're a BAND. We're all equally important."
It's mostly because he hates flashing lights in his eyes.
@@mauroienna9145 man, you can't just replace Adam Jones or Maynard. Justin Chancellor in the other hand...
@@joaquinlezcano2372shows you know fuck all.
To me it's pretty boring to almost not see the vocalist. He could've worn a bathrobe if that's his spot.
2:35 the look over to Danny to watch for the cue of him turning to the floor toms, god I love these gents
I’ve watched it a million times. Incredibleeeeeeee
You don't have to be a flashy guitarist to make great music.
Absolutely. Adam is so understated and calm. No craziness. He is a f'n beast without trying to look like it. Love him.
Flashy drummer?
Fantastic drumming, so-so guitar
Mike not flashy just really good
The whole band are the 🐐's
The fact that Adam waited for Danny to hit that note(2:38). Turning around insuring that they where in harmony. Showing how Danny is really the tempo of the band, especially knowing that they make the music first then Maynard wrights after. Basically this is a perfect representation of the band playing what they wrote and letting the actual music do its thing… so beautiful 😩.
some cool stuff start's with Maynard's LET GO. I realy like to play whole song on my guitar , but ending is my favourite part. crazy timings )))
You nailed it bro.
I'm so glad you know what time keeping and band cohesion is.
Every single member here is the G O A T.
Danny hits those drums so hard I think he keeps the Earth turning.
for real
reminds me a little Phil Puleo in Swans ... Great fucking drumming too
Hahahaha hell yeah
Maynard is officially the next rainbow ss operator
leonardo scaletti, Lmfao I'd main him
LMAO
his Ability would be that he would be able to STUN everyone with his scream xD
kenenan deploys a speaker that kills with awsome music aka T00L
LOL
3:49 - 4:45 for me is one of the greatest passages in the history of music
xxplosiv88 good choice but I'm surprised you didn't include the 20 seconds following this. To me that's always been the stand out. This song is so tense and for a moment there's a clarity where it all winds down.
@@adammeran6539 Agreed, to be honest I really should've said 0:01 - 8:44 :) The part I mentioned just absolutely gets me headbanging every time. The structure is absolutely genius, Tool are masters of this - only giving you an absolutely mind blowing section once or twice in a song to leave you wanting more
You aren’t wrong, man.
as with everything, you need all the slower stuff before to make the drop special.
It is 2:38 for me. Always gives me chills when I listen to it and have to sing that part!
4:35 That snare hit though!
7:01 that high five was perfectly in time, ha
I love a Tool audience. They understand that you don't need to move to their music when it's their music that moves you.
I get that, but as someone who can’t help but fuckin headbang to their shit, I’d like to know that it’s refreshing (not frowned upon) when someone dances to TOOL music how it was meant to !
Love the camera angle at 2:37 you can see them sync up, pretty badass
Sick
Freaking Adam is a badass on the guitar. Just an effortless wall of sound.
FUcking spiritual experience right there. Justin really carries the melody across the song. Phenomenal track.
Yup. Everybody out here talking about how amazing Adam is, but Justin is the one playing most of the memorable melodies. Justin is so underrated.
Joe Rogan "But tell me, how do you manage your Ju Jitsu routine when you're on tour ?
MJK: erm.... (8:00)"
Gold. :D

1:10 is the most I have ever seen Adam move HHhhhhhhhh - and I saw them live 5 times in the early 2000s
Adam Jones is the baddest man to walk the earth!!
They’re just so matter of fact when they play. They’re like “ yeah we’re going to appease the masses” no emotion. It makes me love it that much more I’m not sure why. So effortless yet so powerful.
I can't stand over-emotive musicians, they look like clowns. I get more out of it the more natural they are. It's about the music not making faces and flailing around.
Ellos son así!! Versátiles
yeah, Adam Jones will just do a sly smile when he shows off something really sweet
From one group of autists to another
Best opening song on any album? I mean hard to argue? Has that indescribable energy that you rarely see in music !! Top 5 Tool songs for sure?
Amazing a band has three masters of their craft in one band. Oh, and not to forget the grand master with the drum sticks....
Adam is a technical genius with his guitar. His approach is so unique and badass.
Adam killed it in this audio!! His tone and nuances were fantastic
Danny hitting the drums is not just musical, but visual art. So satisfying watching him playing, a mixture of finesse and brutality!!!
Adam has always been the only normal one😂
Hahahhahaha. Your comment really made my day man.
Kyle Atkins Hottie. What brand of guitar is Adam playing? Likey.
Musistics Gibson les Paul silverburst. His very own signature of this guitar coming later this year as well.
ethan lavoie Is that true? My bank accounts about to take a hit lmao
CJ lol yes they announced it at namm this year. Prob gonna around 3,000-6,000$ 😬
For years I’ve debated what my favorite Tool song is...... then one day I was outside washing my car and The Grudge came on..... I’ve heard it before obviously but for some reason on that day at that exact moment I knew it was my favorite. Tool, for me, is constantly evolving and growing. Each song sounds different each time you hear it and it’s amazing.
Adam Jones is one of the most chill musicians I've ever seen. I've seen Tool 3 times and they are always flawless.
I have been to 3 concerts in my life......3 Tool concerts.
Rock on brotha !!
wonderful . I have had 1,200 gigs - 4 of which were Tool ones back in the Mighty 90's
... whoever gave this a thumbs down meet me at the santa monica pier this saturday at 6:00 pm ... time to throw down bruh ...
Lol!!!!!!
Is that you Jim lol ? X
There's 80 of them muggs now, so I'll join you. These hands are rated E for every one of them thumbs downers!
It's funny how personal Tool fans get when anyone says something negative about them. I do it myself, my gf says something about tool and I'm like wtf did you just say? Adam Jones even mentioned in a recent interview that they have this fan group that even he doesn't quite understand lol. Its just Tool, their albums, artwork and concerts have themes and they are less concerned about spitting out albums for money than creating albums that have an artistic value that is timeless.
Hauahauauahauauahahaha
Greatest band ever to walk the Earth!
Man, it's only been a month or so, but I already am itching to see them in concert again. I have to say that, as much as I loved listening to MJK kill it, Justin Chancellor stole that show for me. That bass is unreal. Being at a Tool concert is a religious experience.
A great guitarist is one who in a couple riffs you know who he is..Adam is beyond that very technical and very humble musician...
Danny moves like a Greek God.
He is a Greek God
Thomas Joseph like he's got a brush shoved yo his back x
@@LeToplache007 came here to say this. As a drummer, he is the epitome of greatness
@læwis manz it's a freaking Manchester City shirt. I guess I can forgive him
why greek?? :-)
The drums are synced so well that I honestly don't think I would have realized this isn't footage directly from the concert that the audio is from. Great job as always to both Tool and ToolArchive.
It is
In the description, they only mentioned the source of the audio. Plus, I believe I've seen the video the audio is from, and the video wasn't too well filmed, unfortunately, so I assumed that ToolArchive put that audio together with some footage from multiple shows.
@@itamar901 you can see that Adam Jones' shirt changes with the scene, its not all one concert.
Adams hair looks amazing
Doesn't it tho..
Tool has its own standards. They do not try to follow standards that are set by others.
That is exactly why I love them.
In the day and age of lifting smartphones, I tip a hat to you, sir/ma'am at 6:56, for raising a glass to Tool.
Missed you.
I like how this band is so talented that they can switch clothes multiple times mid-song.
One of my favorite songs! I can rock the fuck out with this song. 🤘 this was the perfect way to start their concert
Dee Caswell totally agree. Was there opener for their show in vancouver this year.
This band is unique and l love the way Maynard sings and dance , he's connected with every song and that's the most beautiful thing in TooL and big kisses for Adam, Danny and Justin Chancellor a fantastic work... l love the originality !
1:10 Adam changed his shirt for like 3 seconds.
Danny and Justin just stay locked in the pocket for the entire concert. TIGHT....TIGHT...TIGHT...TIGHT!
This is such a great composition, one thing I'd want to see more than anything would be a peak to their work in the studio and the creative progress.
be a damn long movie... ;)
Somewhere on UA-cam there’s a movie/documentary on the production of all their albums earliest to latest up to 10k days (I think). They speak with the sound engineers on what was goin on during the albums and what each of the members wanted sound and style wise. It a really good glimpse at their creative design and where they get their influence from (aside from tripping balls). In terms of how they record; at least for the ladder albums, Adam, Danny, and Justin each write different riffs, piece them together, and record together. Then, they send it to Maynard and he fills it in with lyrics.
Greatest band of all time
Dude.
This is an amazing performance.
You have no idea how much we appreciate that you do this.
Yeah science!
It never gets old, they will always be one of my most favourite bands ever!
Thank you, ToolArchive, you're the best too! 💜✌️🤘
Danny has said the grudge is the hardest song for him endurance wise, so it makes sense that its the opener lol. The reason tool sounds so unique is because of how the rhythm section is overly emphasized! most ppl don't realize how important bass n drums truly are to a bands sound because alot of bands hide the bass and turn the bass down to where u can barely even hear it, or getting rid of it completely (metallica injustice album).. however when u highlight that often underutilized and abused section, u will notice that a bands core sound lives n dies by the rhythm section! Flea n Chad, Neil and giddy, Kinney and inez/Starr, fieldy n silveria, myung n portnoy.
That cheer when they started playing and when Maynard stood in front of mic. It just makes me want to be in that crowd so badly. Thank you toolarchive for spectacular footages and updates. Love your channel.
Fantastic editing work. Feels entirely seamless.
Guitarist is a professional. He is it. Awesome
Dude this is my favorite Tool song. So epic. Thanks for the upload.
Seriously, how can anyone sing this well with so many time signatures
I've seen these guys live 3 times now. The latest being the 2017 tour. (St. Paul MN) They are absolutely amazing and only get more clean with age. KEEP ROCKIN!
Gosh, Love the Tool Content! Can't wait to see the Full Performance X) Thanks for all your Hard Work.
This work is a masterpiece!
Great work lad,

I'm blessed to have seen in person Maynard do "the scream" during the Lateralus tour. I don't blame him for sitting this one out. Stellar performance none the less!
i also saw Manyard way back in 1993 , before a gig in Belgium , outside of the concert hall - quick sweet moment too . We are blessed

The 0utro is absolutely sick!!! Masterpiece!!!
Maynard sounds totally amazing!!!
Sorry, who is Maynard? Is he missing? Why not appear on the stage so that we can enjoy it? I do not know ... I just do not understand these strange postmodern poses of absence.
Oh, he's even more badass in person! Sounds amazing live!
What the fuck does "postmodern" mean in this context?
I see what your'e saying. LIke the old Tool with him out front helping drive the energy more. This is all good. Not the energy brought by the older stuff IMO.

Tool is always "greatness" on stage.

6:55 WHY DONT YOU SCREAMIINGGGG MAYNAAAARD?!?!?!??!
Maynard has become a joke live
@@jerryGorillaz Bruce D is older, but still kicks ass
@@jerryGorillaz Dude, Bruce D has different style of screaming.
If you would ask him to scream grudge, the same way as Maynard did, he would probably shit his pants.
It doesn't ofcourse mean, that Bruce D is a bad singer. Maynard screams take alot of air, if they are 25 sec. long, and lower screaming is harder than the highier.
How do I know that?
Because when I scream lower, I can only least 14 sec., but when I'm scream highier, then it can stay for 22 sec.
That's just my opinion.
It's age. Beyond the age of about 40-45 the vocal chords become less pliant and don't recover as quickly. Add that to the fact that Tool isn't as active as younger bands, and an aggressive touring schedule, and you have a singer who has to pace himself. Plus, let's hear YOUR "Grudge" scream.
Also, ask Geddy Lee about aging vocal skills.
@@noname558
Bruce never even really screamed like maynard.
And also, serj tankian never used proper technique. Maynard did, and you can hear it, considering he can still sing well.
Man.. I just wanna experience this song live so badly.
Great work as always.
Greetings!
Maynard's genius has rubbed off on you Tool Archive ;-) Simply awesome... again! Thank you!
Saw these guys on mushrooms at the Hard Rock LV. Great show.
It's a crime that they've never released an official live concert. I get why they haven't, but they should do it. They're older now and the mystique has worn off. Show the world what you can do live. They'll still sell out every place they play.
No matter how many times I listen this song just gets better and better. Tool is so f××××n awesome
One of my favorite Tool songs ...
