This has to be one of the best shows ever.
Forget about the letter, what a n adorable lady!
yes and it's been 13 years ago so I suspect the letter has been sold and proceeds donated.
02:15 NO THATS NOT HOW FAIR USE WORKS!
She’s a jewel!
She has the most wholesome reaction on this entire show. She is so lovely and cute!
The Navajo blanket gentlemen’s reaction was priceless, as well.
Mediocrity makes you feel better.
I love how the cameras kept rolling for her incredible reaction! As Sinatra would say.. "What a gal!" 😍
My favorite part is the young gal getting her a chair and Violet reaching out to insist on giving her a wonderful hug! What dolls both of them are!
Wow! What a segment! She has to be the sweetest lady on the planet. And that letter is an absolute gem. I wouldn't be surprised if it went for $30k in today's market.
This may have been my favorite ARS segment ever. From the content of the letter to the lady’s reaction, pure gold.
She made my Heart smile 😊
This is probably the best episode ever...'did you hear that?'
How cute and FUN is she? 🥰 I'd bet her whole family is just like her.
She's probably lived the best life ever! 😊Just filled with happiness.
💛
Another cool thing about this is that her son is Bun E. Carlos, the drummer for Cheap Trick.
What in the world! I noticed her name when they zoomed in to one of the articles (Vie Carlson) - and sure enough - that’s Bun’s mom - Violet Carlson! Great sleuthing! Thank you! She passed away 3 years later in 2012…
Nice. 🤠
@@RoyAH.
Bless her heart!
R.I.P.!!!
Wow, great detective work!
@@RoyAH. Bun's Father just died within the last month at the age of 99
i feel that this young lady is an absolute blast to hang out with. best reaction i have ever seen on this show.
I wish everyone was able to let out the surprise and joy like this wonderful woman 😊 Great clip 👍
How have I never seen this segment before now?!? Between the awesome item, the joyous appraisal, and the incredible and hilarious reaction, this is a Roadshow all-timer.
GOOD PEOPLE DESERVE GOOD REWARDS...I love this video.
Best. Segment. Ever. Man, did this ever bring a smile to my face!
What a great episode. Gosh, I love this show. Very well done
This is gotta be the best reaction ever on AR.
She scored! Good for her!
So so happy for this lady!!!!
Best Antiques Roadshow segment I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen a lot !!!!!
She was genuine and authentic and humble and lovely but what put the icing on the cake with the producer I’m guessing with the mic on bringing her a chair in responding with a hug that was just humanity at its best. It’s lovely to see that.
I think often they cut the clip to early, and we miss some of the best bits.
Best reaction EVER!🥰😅
What a wonderful woman. Her story made me smile.🌸🌼🌻❤️
The reactions are priceless on this show, I know nothing about art or antiques but I'm hooked
That's how it starts, next thing you know you've been watching for over a decade & you're using words like patina, impasto, & high relief & know about expensive jewelry before rappers do [Ostertag, Van Cleef & Arpels, Patek Philippe]. 😄
This is probably one of the best Antiques reactions, alongside the guy who had that blanket
OMG I love this little lady she is just adorable and makes me smile, wish nothing but the best for her
This is one of those clips you watch and have an urge to hug the nearest person or dog/cat you see.
Her reaction, actually made me cry!
I love this woman! She is a hoot❤️
I love her reaction. What a special lady.
The sweet lady in this video, Vie Carlson, passed away in 2012 at the age of 87, three years after this aired in 2009. RIP.
what a sweet lady
love the Frankie letter lol, and the old lady is very cute!
How adorable is she!!!! This made my day!
Can I make your day too
Watching this made my day!!!😍😍😍 xxx
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰... awww, I am so glad and really happy for her.
Her reaction is priceless. If you don't smile at this, you are dead!
Its like impossible to not be happy for her. Makes me miss my grandma though
Oh man, this lady is a riot! "Did you hear that??" amazing.
Adorable!!❤
That woman is totally adorable! Love her reaction, love the story and love the letter!
You seems to be like her
I think I might love her to pieces!
As most know, Frank is from the East Coast, NJ, Hoboken [hometown as well] & yes that is the type of letter a person from the NJ/NY tri-state area would send. LOL! Great appraisal/segment.
Man I’d pay more than that. That is so awesome. One of the coolest ones I’ve seen.
That should be in the Smithsonian.
She’s a Gem.
110% the best reaction I have ever seen!
Awww this did my heart good ❤
Best reaction, EVER! 😊🥰✌️
What an amazing lady 😊
Fantastic reaction.
That was awesome 👍
That’s hilarious. “If my hairpiece moves you get $100K if it doesn’t I get to punch you in the face”! 😆😆😂
Good for you, ma’am. Hang on to it! 👍🙂🇺🇸
best reaction ever on this show !!!
One of my ultra favorite A.R.S. episodes - EVER!
She can get something nice for that money. I like these videos..
So awesome 🤩
My Father knew Mike Royko. I met him once while he was having a drink at Billy Goats, his favorite watering hole.
This is the best ❤😂
This is amazing
so so cool
I LOVE HER!!!
What a wonderful lady
this is great
I am sure a collector would pay way more than that today. You can buy a TV for 20K.
That's the very conservative price, made like triple of quadruple.
Classic!! What an amazing letter. Pimp!! Hahahahaha!!
When she told the guy that he couldn’t have it for $100 I thought she gave him the finger lol
It's amazing the effect Sinatra had on people, particularly women. : )
Super awesome
Precious 🥹
Did you hear that Betty?!?
Betty is the best side kick!
She's so cute. Good for her.
theres no many cute things in this one. the way she remembers the event happening and how she talks about his personality. and then the reaction is amazing and Betty going "i heard it! i heard it! i heard it!"
I have an autograph by Sammy Davis Jr. on the back of my baby pic from 1969
❤❤😆
It’s funny: watch one Mr. Beast video and see the reaction of people who get $50k and they aren’t even half as grateful as this lady. Bless her
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
neat
Salvation Army... Good on you, young lady. 😌
so how much did it go for ?
The pope !
Endearing
Ahahaha. Epic letter. Sinatra was such a dick, and his letter demeans women writers (typical), but it was so over the top hilarious, I couldn't help but laugh. This lady was SO ADORABLE. I'm glad she got that letter, and I hope she benefitted from it. 🤣
Did she sell it?
Don't think so. She passed away 3 years after this was shot. In 2012. She's the mother of the founding drummer of the famous band Cheap Trick, Bun E Carlos.
Blue eyes man bad !
He writes mean letters !
Edit: 😁
Can she be my Grandma too?
Frank Sinatra too proud to hire his OWN security disgusting...😉
So how much will it be worth once everyone who knows or cares about Sinatra is dead? Serious question.
It will be a very long time indeed before everyone who cares about Sinatra is dead.
It will be a very long time indeed before everyone who cares about Sinatra is dead.
This looks like a letter Donald Trump would write today. Dictation and everything.
Those guys can say whatever price they want.
The problem is you have to find a buyer who will pay that price.
Which you won't.
So I do not know why that lady is all excited.
Like Cap said in the earlier post...
"Thanks for pointing that out; must be magic knowing you..."
