Travis, using your FAD system, can I put preplant 10-10-10 granules in the furrow, cover it up, and plant my seeds or transplants on top of the raised soil above the furrow. I know you used NatureSafe fertilizer but can I put 10-10-10 without fear of burning?
I notice you leave the roots in the ground a lot of times after you harvest a crop. Is this good for the soil? I try to leave them and then I start using the wheel hoe and get frustrated with it snagging and pull em up. Any advice?
Yes it's good to leave those root associations in the soil if possible. It's not always possible if you need to cultivate though, as was the case here.
Travis we have a hard freeze headed our way. I'd like to grow some English peas but I'm pretty sure the cold will get them as our real winter has just started. So the peas don't need any fertilizer? Travis why does your onions stand up and mine are sprawled all over the row? Yours looks about the same size as mine, one variety I have might be a bit larger than yours but none of mine are standing up straight. Would pulling soil up around them help them stand up more and not obstruct the bulbing process in spring? Leeks planted in the row right beside the onions are standing up as pretty as you please, scratching my head on this one 🤔
@@LazyDogFarm they have long heavy leaves for one thing and another the trees have been dumping tons of leaves in the garden and I can't keep up with getting them out completely.
Yeah I planted these before I realized how cold it's going to get next week. Still have plenty of seeds left in the bag, so we'll replant if necessary.
Weaving a 30' row of pea plants is much more time consuming than just adding another line of string every week. I also don't know how tall they're going to get, so that way I only give them as much string as they need. Some years it gets hot quick in spring and they're toast before they get too tall.
I do not like the way that UA-cam has put that automatic "shop" button down at the bottom right hand corner on yours and other channels it really is very annoying
UA-cam doesn't do that automatically. Those of us that have Shopify websites are now able to tag certain products in our videos. It's a pretty powerful marketing tool. Sorry it bothers you.
Great ideas😊
I used bush beans as a gap filler in summer between my potatoes and my fall brassicas. Was a solid production and shaded out all the weeds!
I’m inspired! I have a bit of space and a bag of peas! Thanks!
Hi Travis. Great vlog, as always. What about sugar snap peas ? Can I plant those now? Zone 8 Dallas Texas.
Probably want to wait until after this cool spell, but you should be able to plant them soon.

I don't see why not, as long as you don't overdo it.

If anything, I've been inadvertently pulling soil away from mine as I cultivate around them. Not sure why yours wouldn't be standing.

Near which town in S, GA do you live?. We live in NW 50 miles North of Atlanta. ,
Near Moultrie
Not really associated with this video, but where do you purchase your naturesafe 8-5-5?
I hope your peas stay underground until the cold weather passes.

Why don't you run your string all the way up and weave in the plants as
