This is my 2nd successful year with spinach and man, does it save me money! I do transplant mine and let it grow large for my husband’s smoothies. I can the rest!
Wish I could post a picture. I built a flower bed for my wife in the front yard. Used white landscape blocks, We put 100 onions in it. Looks stylish and will provide onions for next year 😂
His gardens? He has many beds and he does quite well with them. Occasionally you will hear him say he got beat up, but not very often. He usually wins.😊😊😊
Bloomsdsle long standing is all I have grown but this year in addition I'm growing Giant noble. Unless you count Egyptian spinach. I keep that growing every year
I'm getting ready to put me some spinach in also. Broccoli starting to head finally. Glad to see the temps here in the savannah area start to cool off.
I just ordered some onion seeds from you this weekend and am going to try to overwinter (play around) this year. I normally buy bunches and plant early Spring. I noticed last month some leftover taters sprouting so I put some more in the ground that were going bad. I got 40 tater plants now. Every single one. Broccoli and collards are 3 weeks in the trays. Gonna try my best. LOL
I also put several little ratirs in a few whiskey barrel planters , I put 4 in each ,all had great chips, well I've got something growing as , I have several tall potatoes growing nice & tall z My Onions are on their way. They will probably be here Friday the day after Thanksgiving,so I'm looking forward to getting them in the dirt i amended , Ready & waiting. God bless you & yours Josette Tharp Montgomery County, Texas 🙏 I hope all your plants & seedlings give you a blessed harvest ... That's all we can do is pray & hope 🙏
@jtharp9265 Good luck. My onions will be here Friday as well. Taking turkey day off, but Friday will be prepping. Sadly we get below freezing a lot in central AL. So we'll see what happens. Hope you have a good weekend.
Will you be selling the potato onion bulbs next year? I'd love to buy some. One can never have too many onions. My walking onions are standing tall, doing great. My red and white onion starts that I transplanted are doing well also. I can't wait until they mature. For the spinach for my family I'd have to plant one of those long rows. We love spinach. Thanks for sharing your videos, I've never grown onions before. Your videos are very helpful. I'm in central Florida and my climate is similar to yours .
Perpetual spinach!!!! Swiss chard is my absolute favorite (so far...) I appreciate you sooòoo much Trav! Thx for the informative videos. Health is wealth!!!!! Still gardening!!!! HSTL Zone6
I had to replant my spinach seeds in containers all came up then a few days all gone, figure might be birds eating them, i see poke hole in my soil. So now gonna cover them with netting.
I grow sun angel too! I did start it in a seed tray. My bed is 4’x4’. The plants are huge and lovely and tasty. I’m in Crossville TN. It will over winters even if it snows.
Please keep us updated on the divided and transplanted potato onions. I used to just plant them in October and harvest in May. Got a some 3 inch onions and a lot of little ones. What you’re doing looks interesting, maybe get more larger onions.
Your garden looks beautiful, travis 😊 Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family & make great Memories. God bless you Josette Tharp Montgomery County, Texas 🙏 ♥️
I planted my spinach out during a cool spell sometime in September I can’t quite remember, and it germinated well for me, but it’s growing crazy slow. I’m pretty sure it’s because of how shaded out my backyard is now. It’s crazy to me how these plants have been in the ground 8 weeks or so and they’re still tiny. I hit them with some blood meal and that helped them a little, but still growing crazy slow
Bloomsdale spinach in 6b Virginia. Do you think it is because of the oxalates in spinach is why the bugs don't bother it? The same goes for my chard which has oxalates.
It's taken so long for my green scallions to come bk after separating, trimming tops and roots. They are finally putting on tops and multiplying , but the brown ones aren't
have not found a spinach to stick with yet for me. only get 1 cutting in spring and 1 in fall so far as goeas from frozen to cooking in spring and fast from hot to frozen in fall too. our avg daily high is below freezing by halloween. I still have some alive it just is not growing much haha
Never had luck growing spinach. Grows to a certain point then dies. Always thought it was damping off but get same resilts in containers too. Next year will try seedlings!
I don't think the soil temps here ever get down below 70 degrees. I have never gotten spinach to grow well this far south in Florida. I get a few small leaves and it just dies.
We do, but there are plenty left to be eaten. I was more focused on getting these divided and moved than keeping the tops. Still plenty of tops to be used in other beds.

Bloomsdale zone 7b works well
Planted early October and let it over winter
I'm happy to see someone loves onions as much as I do.
We like Totsoi
Tatsoi is yummy!
We plant bloomsdale here and roughly in September

Planted spinach a month ago, none sprouted, 80 degrees, zone 9.
Will plant more November 20-ish. Love you guys. U

Haven’t had any luck growing spinach. This is the latest I’ve planted them. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Swizz chart spinach, South Africa
Travis, Do you have any deer pressure on your vegetables ?? Thanks for the video, all the best and Happy and Safe Thanksgiving too !
No deer pressure here because of all the wide open fields around us. Happy Thanksgiving!
@@LazyDogFarm thanks for the reply.

Happy Thanksgiving Josette!
Love the Blairsville t-shirt! My great grandmother was from there. Your raised beds look amazing... Thanks for all you do.🥰

At of today are you still shipping 2023 onion seed, or. 20244 seed? Thanks
It's packed for 2024, which means it has had a recent germination test.
Great thanks. Wanted to buy onion seed now for next year.

Not sure why.
What do you do with those type of onions? Are they a green inion variety?
Use the tops mostly, but you can also use the white part. Just a little more spicy than a traditional onion.
It's taken so long for my green scallions to come bk after separating, trimming tops and roots. They are finally putting on tops and multiplying , but the brown ones aren't
Do you ever keep the tops you cut and use as green onions?? They are so gorgeous ❤❤❤
We do. But there are so many that we can't use them all. That's why we just left these on the ground.
I'm guessing your area doesn't get a big freeze season.... if you can grow spinach through the winter
We rarely get below 25.
Been watching you from real early on. I appreciate what you do Trav. I would love to know what spinach did you plant? Thanks and God bless
Sun Angel is the variety we planted.

Do you need to thin spinach? Dallas Texas
Nah
@@LazyDogFarm thank you

Try a pot inside with air conditioning. I haven’t done it but others have
@@tamiholloway6452 That is how I did it the last time I tried. I have tried more than once to no avail.
What is the best way to clean mustard and turnip greens to sale it’s hard to wash them and then get them dry
When we used to sell them, we didn't wash them.
You don't eat your onion tops?
We do, but there are plenty left to be eaten. I was more focused on getting these divided and moved than keeping the tops. Still plenty of tops to be used in other beds.
@LazyDogFarm I see. Thanks for responding.
I eat any spinach, and I'm strong to the finish! Who am I? 😂👊👍
Popeye lol.
Hello Popeyes grandchild.
You’re Popeye the sailor man, Toot, toot!
