LOL...I listened to a loud-mouth go on-and-on to onlookers about "shitty drivers" while he was rubbernecking from a parking lot near the scene of a accident. Although both vehicles were destroyed, luckily no one was seriously injured. I noticed that a business near the accident scene had a outdoor surveillance camera that recorded their parking lot and the street in front of the store. I stepped inside the business and asked if the camera was working/recording...it was. When I got back outside I could tell by their hand gesturing that both drivers were telling the police officers about a 'mystery' vehicle that had gone into oncoming traffic while illegally passing one of the cars on the left-side. The driver had to slam on brakes and was a sitting duck that was then broadsided by the other car. I already knew this because I had witnessed the wreck...the 'mystery' car was driven by Mr. Loud-mouth Rubbernecker who was thoroughly enjoying the audience he had attracted with his lecturing about "shitty-drivers". I walked over to stand behind Mr. Loud-mouth and then got the attention of one of the drivers and then pointed to the obnoxious fool I was standing behind...the driver looked at me with puzzlement and then it 'clicked'...he told the cop to look in my direction. At about the same time the business owner stepped outside and got the attention of the police officer..."Would you like to look at video of the accident?" Mr. Loud-mouth was too engrossed in his speech to notice. The officer said "I sure would" and both went inside to a little office at the front of the store. The two drivers and myself grinned like mules eating briars when the police officer came back outside and walked in the direction of the peckerhead who was still telling his audience about "all the crappy drivers that are out there putting everyone in danger these days". The look on his face was priceless when the cop tapped him on the shoulder and said "Come with me and join the conversation we're having over here."
@@216stan Carolina's Medical Center had 430's? Since I left Mission I haven't kept up with who has, or had, what. I rode in, and had my picture taken as a kid in the first white and burgundy Bö105 CBS that was MAMA, rode several times in the burgundy and white 105, and rode in the EC135 and Agusta Power test aircraft Mission tried out right before they bought an EC135, and later a BK117. I remember Medcenter Air's Bell 222 UT, and 206 L3, and saw the 222 several times when it came to Mission. I also went to Carolina's Medical Center and saw the rooftop pads and the aircraft at their home. I also remember Duke's 222 UT that crashed and surprisingly saved a crashing patient when the impact converted them back to sinus rhythm. Then in 1991 they got the AS365 Dauphin and AS355F Twin Ecureuil that I saw when they came to Mission and at Duke Medical Center. They got A109 Agusta Powers in 2000, EC135's in 2007, and EC145's in 2012. Unfortunately one of their 145's went down not long ago in a fluke accident. A witness said he heard a boom and saw the aircraft trailing smoke from one of the engines and went down killing the pilot, both medical crew, and a patient. Safran/Turbomeca and Airbus Helicopters were accused of knowing a power turbine shaft lubrication problem existed with the Arriel 1E2, and a similar engine problem had occurred in another 145 in South Dakota that luckily didn't cause a crash, but Duke wasn't informed in time for some reason or something, so I heard. But still, if they lost one engine he could have made a OEI emergency landing, or autorotated if he lost both engines, so the crash is odd. The family of the victim and one flight nurse's lawyers said the pilot didn't follow emergency procedures, the crash was preventable, and that the manufacturers knew how dangerous and serious the lubrication system issue was and sat on their hands and did nothing.
Having worked on a flight crew for 12 years, no question they were in big trouble, they did a “hot pick”, engines never shut down, couldn’t spare preflight start-up and checklist protocol.
Yeah Medcenter Air has American Eurocopter EC135 P2+ helicopters now still have 2 pads on the roof. And then have a couple of fixed wing aircraft at the airport and several Critical Care Transport Ambulances too move people that are in critical care from 1 hospital or another or they all can be used to transport organs for a transplant surgery also....
@@Montweezy It's 160th S.O.A.R. (Special Operations Aviation Regiment), the Army and Air Force have plenty of rotary wing units where they move into this type of job after the military.
Ah, Medcenter Air from Carolina's Medical Center in Charlotte North Carolina. I remember when I was young and worked at Mission Medical Center and Medcenter Air would fly their Bell 222 UT, that they had at the time, up and land on the MAMA helipad. That was back when they had the 222 and a 206 L3 Long Ranger, before the EC135's. Then Mission decided to switch from the Bö105 CBS to the EC135. It was a toss up between the EC135 and the Agusta Power, and the 135 won. I got to ride on both test aircraft and they were both nice. I love the 135, but the EC145 is nice as all get out. The size of the BK117 but even more internal space, and now the T2 version has the 135's Fenestron tail. Not trying to talk bad about the agile Bölkow main rotor, but it does have some vibration issues. If they would put the new low vibration, five bladed bearingless ATR research main rotor on the 145, it would be perfect. It's an improvement on the 135's bearingless main rotor system with an additional blade to further smooth vibration. They could also incorporate the new Blue Edge rotor blades to quieten it by up to 50% for use where the fuddy duddies whine about blade slap noise. Personally I love blade slap.
