I have purplish red hair kind if vibrant I was wondering what it would look like if I use that color because I bought it but I'm not sure if I want to use it. I also bought unicorn haircolor ...I think you'd look great with that indigo color!
I realize this is a year old..Really hope you answer:) i have been dyeing my hair LOTS in my life. I have never used a few newer brands and am VERY curious... ARTIC FOX>> worth it or nothing super special??(I've been told it is Worth the $) and Splat=over all, is it Awful compared to semi permanent?? I'm super curious because I have very sensitive skin and i dont want tons of damage..did it cause a lot of breakage? thank you very much in advance . fyi. if you want it to last= the sun will fade color Faster than washing . you can get UV sprays (they arent hair sprays. they just protect your color from Uv fading. I love ion brand semi permanent from sally..and I used to use nothing but manic panic (I'm old school, and it was basically the only one for a long time) also Red shades (any red tone) is the Hardest to Keep vibrant in hair. it has to do with chemistry (I know why but since I'm just offering unsolicited advice, I'll leave it there unless someone Wants to know) you can either purchase or DIY a color refreshing shampoo and conditioner that replaces the color that fades with shampooing. (to DIY just add a little semi permanent color to shampoo..and yes. you should wear gloves when you shampoo that way, imho it is worth it because I always customize my color and never use the color straight out the tube/box/jar/etc. also it is healthiest to always wash hair in cooler water than you use for showering. it helps keep it from fading as much etc honestly, just a 7 dollar bottle of UV protecting spray would help Tremendously. I hope someone appreciated this info. I have been dyeing my hair since elementary school, I have learned a LOT and have friends now (I've been out of school for a very long time lol) who are licensed cosmetologists and I talk to them and they all tell me I'm right and several tell me I should get a license because im almost all the way there...(I dont mess with perms ..that's the only thing) anyway..thanks for this. I was curious cuz I havent used splat.
i use midnight ruby splat on faded blue/green hair and it turned bright solid red. over a month gradually faded to purple, with some lavender and pink tones, and continuing to fade to purple and pink over three months.
just for anyone wondering: if you want what the box has you HAVE to bleach it a little if your hair is like hers. i had platinum blonde hair and dyed it with this color and it turned out like neon red basically (luckily that's what i wanted) so be careful
I have extremely long hair and I prefer to keep it a vibrant dark red toward the lower 2/3 with highlights shooting up to the top natural dark brown. The top I redden with henna, and the bottom I use splat reds. However it is beneficial if you're going to full on commit to this for many years, to bleach the portion you wish to be extremely red. Over time as it grows out, bleach in highlights (or create peekaboo highlights under) without going over previous areas. That way the hair does not become damaged, using deposit only dye and henna to tone undyed growth. If you dye over natural brown hair without bleaching you'll get purple shades instead of red which looks..boxy. My method is it creates a gradient form natural brown hair, then red warm browns, then starts to hit the brighter highlights, getting brighter toward the tips, with the tips being brightest in an ombre. (Tips also have variation.) Really avoids the out of the box look. I hope this helps other people. :) I had to shave my head to restart after using a permanent dye over bleach, (Oops!!)
I just bought this same dye and we have a very similar hair color. I haven’t seen the rest of the video yet. I hope it turns out good so I know I won’t hate it when it gets to my house!
I used this, and it did stain my countertops and my tub, so be warned. The color was beautiful and long lasting, though it did not remove the brown from my hair, so my scalp was BRIGHT red and the lower part was much darker. I will use this again, but will 1) get a friend to help and do it in my backyard with buckets of water. 2) use vaseline around my hairline and on my ears. It will still stain but not as badly and will fade faster. 3) get several packets of color remover for skin. and 4) Don't go ANYWHERE near marble or porcelain with this on my head.
I just got this dye and am looking at all these review videos because I do love my natural hair color and I really want it to come back when the hair dye fades
It looks great. I’m starting from a bright burgundy red brown. I purchased Midnight Scarlet. Your video is very helpful & explains way better than the directions. Thanks bunches!
Incase people don't know is if you are trying to avoid getting color everywhere or staining stuff, if it's a vibrant or dark color you can actually add shampoo to the hair dye just be careful not to add too much because you don't want to dilute it to where it lessens the hair color, just enough to where it will come out as a shampoo texture and you can hold your head over the sink and put it in your hair just the same as if you were washing it. Then pull hair Bonnet or hair cap over it and let it process. Hope that helps anyone.
Im use to using Luscious Raspberry Splat, this stuff seems less messy . Yes splat runs, yes splat stains everything, splat is vegan. the less u shampoo and quicker you wash your hair ,thr less ur hair stays wet and if u use strictly cold water the color will last longer
red dye is the hardest to keep Fresh and Vibrant. if you want it to stay Vibrant and intense (sounds like you do) you can use either a red shampoo redepositer or even purpley tones..otherwise use a Little of a similar toned semi permanent dye (I estimate one tube of something would last quite awhile) you have to use gloves doing this, but imho it is Worth it. even if you only do it every other shampoo ETC it helps color to last So much longer ....heat and UV from the sun are the worst for fading. uv protection spray is great and makes a Big difference too. ( I can say that I had stop sign red hair for a few Years..and when I started doing these things, I only had to redo my color 2x in a year vs probably 6x a year .. it worked. I am just putting it out there to help anyone else ..cuz.i wish someone would have told me.. I learned myself having dyed my hair every conceivable color and even having plaid and leopard spotted undercuts.. ;)
Y’all. I don’t know if it’s just my hair or what but I dyed my hair with this hair dye, but purple in October of 2019. It’s now July 2020 and a small amount is STILL in my hair....
Hi 👋, How long did it last? I got Midnight Ruby too. & has still been lasting. I've had it for a month½. So, it might be around my 15th or 20th wash. But I have bleached my hair before dying it. So, it's brighter for me. Does it last longer with bleached hair? & I agree it smells good, LOL :) (:.
Can anyone tell me if since there is no developer to mix in, will the dye last in the bottle? I have an undercut with short hair and it'd be cool if the rest didn't go bad
when im in the shower and i wet my hair with water it the paint start coming down my body and it gets all over my body then my bdy get all red with paint...

Horrible just horrible I dyed my daughter's hair this color and even on the bleach part where it was blonde it did not work don't use this hair dye it's horrible it looks nice on the package but it comes out horrible just don't use it this is a serious precaution
To everyone asking, I just uploaded the video to see if the dye actually lasts for 30 washes, the link is in the description and on my channel :)
