Not enough people discussing the PULSATING BRAIN in this weapon design. The FUNCTIONAL ORGANS on top of the striking colors and interesting shape. This is one of the rawest weapon designs we've ever seen oh my god
Connor: Says he’s sorry for putting out the video SO late Also Connor: Puts out a great analysis before anyone in the Western half of the US even gets up
HAMMER MAINS REJOICE! It was so smart to use the hook slinger to allow keeping sway make a comeback from Sunbreak. Also, flinch free on Big Bang is like giving us the the power of God in the palm of our hands. Also, THAT HAMMER DESIGN THO!
I like the fact they basically made the hammer the brawling weapon. The supposed hyper armor on its BB combo, the counter, and the repositioning, all point to it encouraging you to stay in the fight and keep slugging away. Resentment might be a new core skill
Another potentially strong option would be focus. Especially if the dash move maintains your charge level. Dash at tier two into either instant tier 2 charge attack for more movement or wait a split second to hit tier 3 for the best punish if already in range. If the dash resets charge it may be less potent but still good based on the same reasoning. Also side note, wonder if the little dash is considered a slide. If so it could be a little insane considering how the hammer plays in slope heavy zones.
You know it's kind of crazy that we're halfway through the weapon trailers and we've only just now seen Chatacabra do that jump attack. I thought when they showed Balahara doing that glop beam that was an interesting move that they showed off but considering Chata is probably one of if not the first monster you fight I wonder how much of the moveset of other monsters we've seen?
The joke is obvious, but there is some potential logic actually, just missed by calling it sharpening. Imagine slamming a hammer into something over and over, and getting scale chippings and other gunk embedded in the head, which would soften the blows after repeated use. So Hammers should really be using a wet wipe to clean it off lol
One thing i noticed in the video is that in some shots the rocks on chatacabra's arms are solid and when they're struck the chunks are actual objects that fall to the ground instead of just being particle effects
@@RustyhairedAlp9575 if you look at the black metal cage along the handle, you'll be able to spot the heart. I wonder if some of the other weapons incorporate different organs, like a HH with lungs
Love your reactions to these trailers, by far my favourite ones to be honest, and i like a lot of the other ones too, yours just go above and beyond. Just a side note though, hammer was a top shelf pick once, im pretty confident in saying it was one of the best weapons in freedom unite. Granted, i dont know whether the meta for that game has shifted since the games lifecycle ended, but when it was the most up to date mh game, hammer was definitely THE blademaster pick.
Hamber, my newest friend. No really crazy changes but the slinger dodging seems like a much tamer version of wirebugs. It’ll be fun to mess around with. The gear is probably my favourite shown thus far too, especially the weapon. I can’t wait to peck my enemies to death.
My big questions. 1: will hammer have the slide while charging mechanic back? 2: will we have funny flippy slide move? 3: Is that dash considered a slide? 4: a actually different question, will that dash stall our current charge state after the dash or will it reset us. This will have a big impact on the roll of focus in hammer builds. Having a dash into tier 2 charge will unlock a lot of mobility.
To be honest, i wouldn’t get my hopes up. When it comes to this armor design, there is one monster that first came to my mind… Great Girros. The chances of this not being a bird wyvern is small, but not zero.
That parry is definitely derivative of water strike from rise. but instead of the golf swing being a follow up from a successful parry, it is the parry itself.
With it being kinda rubbery poison bird look, I'm surprised I've not seen people saying it could be Gypceros, that alongside the spider armour from the Charge Blade tease, could go hand in hand. But hope its something new of course _||_
It feels like a workshop set to me, the plague doctor look has been used without connecting to bird wyverns before in gyros's set in world and the female set doesn't have that theme to begin with.
I wished they brought that spinning hammer attack from frontier into a big slam, but spinning meteor is just as good if not better than the frontier attack
The last charge reminds me more of the extreme style infinite spin charge from frontier mixed with meteor from GU, than the strength lv3 charge from Rise/World
2:40 And as I proclaimed, my disappointment was immeasurable, that neither of my two MH youtubers deigned to mention, or even noticed, that the hammer achieved it's true potential, with these scaremongering squeaking strikes. How could such a grand achievement go completely unnoticed
eating glue lmao, well it is hitting a monster's head with another head on a stick so... Um name the body part on a stick. Lmao saying Rise added a dam parry is like saying you went out in the snow and it was cold. True, impact crater would have been a nice wound breaker move. The hammer is purple but has that light blue brain part in the center of the hammer. This may not be like a plague doctor and nurse look but more of a anesthesia motif for a sleep monster. Putting you under before ripping you wide open.
it almost Rise hammer for sure -sling dash = keeping sway silkbind that is evade with maintain charge level -bigbang hyper armor already in Rise but just like in Wilds it only work for small attack like knockback. -Wilds parry similar to water strike parry in Rise but it look like only active when you swing up like mechanic in Dragon Dogma2 that charge attack have parry frame in it. -big bang is faster like Rise big bang -final move in video is like power charge variant for lv3 charge.
I think the monster this set is from might be some sort of octopus. The air valves on both armor sets and just the patterns on the armor feel very aquatic. Plus, if you look at the female hunter head on, those gold spots look like cephalopod eyes as well as the female head piece’s shape resembling an octopus head. Maybe a leviathan with cephalopod traits?
About these parry attacks... I'm wondering if they've made it so that the part of the monster that's attacking has a really low flinch threshold of some kind, which would allow you to do things like attacking into a monster's claw as it attacks you and your weapon connecting with it makes them flinch instead of hitting you. If this is the case then maybe using the parry attack will allow you to do some kind of follow up attack, or does more flinch damage to an incoming attack to ensure the flinch gets triggered. Otherwise I'm wondering if monsters have maybe one or two specific attacks that are designed to be parried and that's when you use the parry attack. I'd have to go back and see which attacks are being parried and if it's the same one every time.
I'd be impressed if this was a new monster. But part of me is also thinking this might be a set (or at least, the weapon) is related to the rare items you get from sending palicos out on Tailraider safaris. Sorta like the death stench set. The hammer feels... extreme to be directly based on a single monster. Maybe something bird like (lord knows I want a new fully feathered bird wyvern monster outside of Malfestio), but otherwise, this feels like a branch of the guild set or village set of weapons to me. Otherwise, this feels like it would be the perfect weapon for a creepy monster. Something to take the throne of Khezu, Giginox or Barlagual.
I'm wondering if the armor indicates a poisonous crow type monster who can maybe play dead or has a second phase where its more erratic after it gets back up
Hey i would like to know about what fashion set do you use at the start of your videos because i think it's nice. I tried recreating it but idk wich pieces are the hands, waist and legs. It looks cool
Glad it isn't there as well but because base Rise Hammer where Crater was the best damage you could get and you'd try to spam it as much as you could was the least fun I've had playing hammer.; even MHFreedom where stun isn't a thing is more fun
I think the monster might be squid or octopus of some kind becuase the rubby leather like Khezu armor. Bird Wyvern typically have scaly or feather on it. The beak might be misleading becuase squid or octopus have them to. They also have large brains and would explain the color the come with a lot of colorful patterns live in place that are dark places. We could be getting a smaller Nakarkosor could be a new version of Gigginox. Baleful Gigginox has very similar color scheme to new armor in hammer video
Hammer is looking awesome! Though, in regards to what the plague doctor stuff might come from, I think it’s interesting that the hammer doesn’t actually deal poison damage. I don’t know if it means anything. I just found it interesting
Old demo weapons and I believe some trailers would show Elemental weapons but not them dealing Elemental, could just be a dev setting for the sake of showing it off,
Not seeing the hammer buff up or changing stance is interesting. Maybe they didn't show it, but considering how smooth integration of the charge feels I'm curious to see how it feels if they just focus on the base move set. Also if they made the parry swing the focus stance guard I will be very happy. That is EXACTLY the kind of "no fuch YOOOOU!" energy I want from my bonk stick.
As a 5th Gen Hammer one-trick, I don't see Step-Smash or Brutal Big Bang, and that worries me. Those were the moves that had me fall in love with Hammer to me initally in Rise. Would be a real shame if they didn't make it, IMO 😟
I don't like how they seem to be adding parry to every weapon, maybe it's because I play SA and CB but parry made them more boring than they were without using them. Much proffered using I-frames because if I wanted an easy to do parry that is almost always the right answer I would opt into LS. Fingers crossed they manage to avoid that in wilds.
This set is definitely not Balahara's. You can kinda see a hunter using Balahara armor at the end of the fist wilds trailer. Right next to other hunter wearing Doshaguma's.
@@thirteen8582 I didn't notice that, good eye. Does look like a better fit. And looking at the unrevealed weapons, keep an eye out for the Lance, it's silhoutte looks like it might match up to that armorset.
