I actually had a crash a 106 in 2002 against another car (it wasn't my fault). My car was dead but it didn't suffer that much though. It just lost a meter long. I barely had any injury. This poor old 106 protected me rather well for its last trip.
Hmmm insurers want young drivers to drive small cars like this, knowing that statistically they have the most accidents. Sounds to me like they're tryin' to kill us off! xD
Was the passenger in a nasty crash with a saxo, remember being sat in A&E seeing blood pooling either side of my eye, then noticed I could see my own eye brow hanging in front of my eye. Face opened up and a bunch of broken ribs, ouch
To be fair though, I got hit by a drunk driver who fell asleep at the wheel on christmas 2020. She was driving a 2000 Nissan Micra, I was driving my 2020 Ford Fiesta. I got out by opening my door without effort with a fractured wrist. She came out in a body bag after being cut out of the wreckage. Safer cars are a good thing all around, for us and others.

@@Ojthemighty Well, you know the risks :p What really bothers me is that it doesn't just have to be you being a stupid driver, but it can also be someone else killing you easily. Quite horrific the amount of people who succumb in traffic :/

Hey Euro NCAP, can you do something about the non-comparability of the star scale system between different years? Or supply a guide how to compare? This tin can of a car gets 2 stars, while some safer, more modern cars get only 1 star. I would like to be able to judge the safety of older cars in comparison to newer stuff, because i'm not likely to buy a brand new car. But i do wanna take safety into account, and not for instance choose the Saxo over a 2010s era Fiat Punto cause the Punto gets only one star - to make an exaggeration. I suggest recalculating the scores so older cars can get negative scores, or expanding the scale past 5 stars so modern cars can get 10 while the saxo will keep its 2 stars, with 2 out of 10 being a very bad score as it shoudl get.
@TCreatorO I am assuming that you live in the Americas?? I have a Euro Spec Civic (the spaceship) with sports suspension so I dont find an issue with the cornering personally. I think the American spec cars have a setup for a softer ride. My 118d feels more balanced though, but my wife wanted the diesel. The Megane CUP SPORT is very cool and really fast, personally I like the Pug RCZ, wife wants one but I am afraid it will fall apart like my Citroen GT did. I just wish the RCZ was German.
@jamesham12345 so basicly citroens are just like the suzuki forenza my sister has, at first it was okay, then it started to rattle by the passenger rear wheel, it gets dented even if you drop your phone on it, the interior feels cheap and the temperature control cables break the metal tip easily. and parts come appart from the interior, but full tank with like 25$ and it lasts the week, my accord I can drop a scent candle(big ones) and not even a scratch, I 35$ for a whole week bc its a V6 ,
@jamesham12345 but the interior is sound, loud stereo from factory, electric seats, super powerful engine, makes a great noise, I dont have to top off the oil between oil changes and it has 179,000 MiLes! not kilometers which is 288 072.576 kilometers to be exact ;), and I can do burnouts with it and considering its automatic its impressive. bc its hard. but on a manual even with a lawnmower engine it can do a burnout. all those miles and No rust anywhere, nothing leaks, never overheats,
@Straughany1 Had a 106, similar car, 50mph into a tree, no airbags just face meeting glass (passenger), car was a write off but suprisingly it was able to be pushed away rather than towed, steel rims stayed strong and only one tire busted...fuck all happened to the tree too, I came off the worst, 17 dislodged vertibrae, I say these cars aren't a deathtrap until you're going over 50 or by sheer (un)luck something comes through the car and hits you...like another car doing 50 :D
