I wanted to soak au naturel at a beautiful natural hot spring in southeast Oregon...but there were kids around. So I made like Sasquatch and stayed hidden til dark, drinking martinis at my campsite. Only problem was, I lost all my toothpicks and had to stick the olives on a spring of sagebrush -- but it ended up tasting even better! And it helped me bide the time until I was able to soak the way I wanted to...in the middle of the night, all alone...au naturel.

I feel better getting me off of alochol and drugs and cigrettes too. I had hit me a bottom and was totally negative, did not want to live anymore then, did not have any hope at all. i went to the 12 step meetings and got that help after detox was over with. Today I have been clean and sober for over 40 years one day at a time, since June 4th, 1980. Am happy within me and do have joy too. I got to get a second chance at life again. Paul
Sage grouse are super cool and they require a lot of grass land that's not interrupted.

The running joke - every time I go out to dinner with friends ...it is a guaranteed if there is a screaming child or more likely children they get seated right next to my table.

I remember when I went to the hot springs in Joshua Tree me and my friends we didn't care if anybody was around we were going skinny-dipping had a great time and we had some awesome Bloody Marys that's all I got I love watching your videos
You need to make a sign "Nudist Gathering", place it a mile off the highway on the way to the hotsprings, the fam units will turn around as soon as they see it :-)

I camped there - Climb up that bluff buck naked and drank a beer while overlooking the valley. I had the place to my self for 2 days. Water looks better on your visit.

We are grateful for Wonderhussy and technology / UA-cam, etc, which grants us the desires, knowledge, information, etc, which our souls seek of. I share your compassion, empathy and emotions when someone is besetted by lifelong and chronic ailments.
I hear you Sam! I am not paralyzed, but I am 100% disabled. I am still able to camp and soak in hot springs though. I know the time will come when I am no longer able to do that. Currently unable to do much of anything as I am recovering from ankle surgery. Hopefully that won't be much longer, and maybe I can post some camping videos of my own.

My favorite spot ever! I have spent the last 4 New Years in this location, usually alone and it’s magnificent!
Just a tip - if you "bruise" the sage first with the back of a knife or spoon, it will help release all the fragrance and flavor into your drink!

solar lights (called Luci lights) nt candles. They are great for camping and run for 6 hrs on a solar charge which takes about 5 hrs in full sun.

Olives are pickled in vinegar. They won't spoil for many days after opening. Same with dill pickles and the like.
The olives I have made myself were pickled in high salt brine.
The kids stand there watching and asking daddy whys that lady talking to her self lol
More like the other way around the parents are like that lady must be crazy she's talking to herself and the kids probably like nah no worries she's on FaceTime or Zoom
Cool effect, relaxing in the hot spring holding the 2 candles in the dark of night.
WH, I looked it up, sage is in the mint family, and juniper is in the cypress family which also includes redwoods /sequoias, and all brought to us by the magical alchemy of the earth and sun. Sarah Jane, I watch all you post. I just had to say I understand the fall blue funk you have been talking about. I'm 65 and the virus has ruined my year too ( and I have less to look forward to at my age) my plan for a cruise was cancelled so decided to go to beach for few days with my sister. Well we were hit by hurricane Sally this week, no electricity or running water. Had to climb stairs to our 11th floor condo every time we got out. I walk a lot so I was ok but my 300 lb sister almost stroked. ANYWAY... Hang in there it could be worse although I can't imagine that. Your UA-cam granny, Martha Hale from Alabama.

Oh boy...severe crowding. Actually, you're not in much danger from the virus anymore, Love. It's rapidly going out of style. Still, I know what your mean. Privacy can be at a premium
at times. But...that's good in a way. At least people are putting their electronics down for a while and seeing how beautiful this country is.
1000 people are still dying a day in the US. It's that we seem to have just gotten used to it. It's still there.
@@oldmillrd8153 Do yourself a huge favor. Google how many people normally die every day in the U.S. Over 2.81 million people died in 2017. Almost 2.84 million people died in 2018. Let's go back to 2016
Nearly 2.7 million died in 2016. That's like 7600 or more people/day dying over the last few years. We'll have to wait and see how the numbers play out. But we may be lied too...as so many bodies were recorded as Covid deaths that may not have been. A lot of hospitals got extra money from Covid related deaths.

That cooler pool reminded me of a t-shirt i once saw. It showed a picture of, "The Monster From Black Lagoon," with it's eyes wide open, and arms extended upwards, with a.caption underneath that pic that read, "Who peed in the pool?" I just don't care to share any pooled water with kids. Never know what they did in it.
Oh Man!! That's a great Martini tray set thingie there. I would love that. The only improvement I'd do is a real glass made Martini glass. I'd have a mattress store case for it of course. But hey, The setup with lawn chair and bikini out in the wilderness. Classy!

W/H just a thought, why don't you think about getting a regular automotive type tire tube, they are waaay more durable than any floatie, and you can blow it up with one of your portable compressors, or a foot pump when you get to a spot, and when you are done floating just use a tire tool to remove the core, after the air is out put the valve core back in the stem so you don't lose it, and voilà on to the next hot spring. takes up next to no room! just a suggestion, but a damn good one. (your guy in Sparks keeping an eye on your broken wheels)

@@lastlivingoldcowboy9082 Just like my mother, I don't go for a skinny dip to oogle someone else or to be oogled any more than Sarah does. I'll dip with like-minded people who think like I do. We all have a body we live in that shouldn't have to constantly be covered up. There is only one place in my area that people are legally able to go naked. It's a beach, open to the public, with a line stating where clothing optional begins and ends. I don't like it for several reasons. I never have liked swimming in salt water, nor walking in fine sand. I don't like that there are tons of 'ooglers' there just to see naked bodies, and I don't want to have to drive 25 miles to the place and climb down unstable, dangerous sand cliffs to get to it.
