As I write this, Lamont Dozier has passed away at age 81. My heart is heavy and I feel immense loss, but will be forever grateful for his beautiful songs and the mark that he left in the world of music. Rest on Lamont! They don't make 'em like you anymore!! Music wouldn't be the same without you!!!!

@angiepanjie I was born the same year but in Sheffield, England and according to my mother my " rock out" song was " Woolly Bully" by Sam the Sham and The Pharaohs 😂. I used to go so crazy as a 2 and 3 yr old she was forced to buy the record for me. It was my first record, but we always had the Supremes playing in the house and years later when I was 17 I bought a 4 record anthology album and when I played it all my early years ( before 5 yrs old) came flashing back.

Diana Ross was known as one of the top 10 most beautiful women of her day. This was in the 60's. Diana and the Supremes broke ground, paved it with their talent. They helped to build bridges, not shatter them. The Supremes will always be an inspiration to me, as a kid, in an alley, listening to a radio, at 11 years old, loving their voices.

This was a great era to grow up in. The cars, the music, the news when it told the truth, leaders who respected each other, safe schools, when kids could be kids, family times, television with 13 channels, but those few channels had more variety and talent than the 200, 300 or whatever is out there today, and of course, The Supremes. There not the most successful female group of all time anymore, they had a great run tho. The top 10 are 1. Spice Girls, 2. The Andrews Sisters, 3. TLC, 4. Destiny's Child, 5. AKB48, 6. The Pussycat Dolls, 7. Bananarama, 8. The Pointer Sisters, 9. The Nolans, 10. The Supremes, and that list is worldwide and based off sales. But in my opinion i would put them at #1 also, just because i like there songs more that the others, well i like TLC too but id put them at #2.

I'm only 13 years old, but I grew up listening to the supremes, the crystals etc all because of my childminder whose looked after me all these years and I'm eternally grateful for what she has done for me. In my own opinion I much prefer the music back in the 60's, 70's and 80's. I don't know why I love these bands so much, but if I had to guess it would be because I grew up in a loving environment surrounded by music.

I think it was the scary hair-dos, and hearing yet again that compared to the other two ladies, Diana's voice was annoyingly nasal such that I always wondered how she always had the lead. I suppose her appeal was more about her inflection than the actual tonal quality of her voice.

My sister used to sing to me all the time as kids. This was her favorite to sing me. When she was dying on hospice from mental illness and substance use disorder, it hurt her to even have me start singing it back to her. It kills me to imagine the horror of her life gripped her so much, even reminders of a time as sweet as our childhood was even too much to think. I'll always miss our baby love. RIP Holly.

Diana Ross is off the charts. the first 2 huge supremes hits set the template- she comes on stage with those incredible big eyes and wonderful smile of hers and literally pleads with you to love her...
well goddam, who could possibly say no to that?

#THESUPREMES #BABYLOVE. The Supremes were #DianaRoss #FlorenceBallard #MaryWilson. Without a doubt, one of the finest female trios in music. The early success of the group helped make #MotownRecords into a music powerhouse. They sang beautifully and we're always so well dressed. The harmonies were exceptional 😄👍👍👍🎸🎹🥁🎻🪘🪗🎸🎺🎷💙💚💝🧡❤️💖💜🔥🔥🔥

Got my first dog a while back, hated dogs. He came with a toy that would play this song. This dog changed my life, brought something out in me that I didnt know was there. When I listen to this song it takes me back. Music like this is so powerful that it allows us to travel though time.

while i agree to the pure talent, auto tune isnt a “gimmick” just like the talkbox wasn’t a gimmick either. its meant to be used as a tool for making something sound less human, not a crutch to make someone sound better

I spoke briefly to Mary last week after her appearance on the "Where The Action Is" Tour" In Lancaster, Pa. She was getting into a waiting car to catch a plane to Atlanta so we couldn't gab like we would usually do. Mary is STILL exceptionally beautiful...... her face defies age. On TV and in photographs, she doesn't always look that good lately; so, I wasn't expecting her to look that great. However, I am here to tell you..........in person, she is STILL drop dead GORGEOUS! STUNNING!

I love this song! I always sing this to my cat when he starts scratching on my door and wants to leave me. Instead of “baby love” I use “baby boy” sometimes it works and he actually comes back!
“Baby boy, my baby boy, I need you oh how I need you
But all you do is treat me bad
Break my heart and leave me sad”
