They might be overlooked in this generation since they’re older, but I wouldn’t say underrated. The supremes are still one of the most successful singing groups in history though.
The Supremes were recently number 3 for most streamed female groups. Destiny’s Child number one TLC Number 2 and SWV at number 4@@AintShitGoinOnInThaOtherRoom
I agree, I'm guessing it was prob the tour in the UK. All the performances I've noticed in the UK, the audiences are extremely reserved. Nonetheless I love this live performance. Top notch!
Yes, but I think the audience were being respectful to the artists and they didn't want to spoil the quality of the transmitted live sound, they left it so we only hear The Supremes, their voices and music 'clear as a bell'. But yes it's that sort of song and has that kind of feel, kind regards.
Diana absolutely murders this performance. My favorite version of this song for so many reasons. Like Mary leading Florence with the Motown choreography.
Another milestone is approaching. It is June 7th, 2024, as I write this. 10 days from now will mark the 60th anniversary of the release of this song. I am 53 and was born just under a year after Diana Ross left The Supremes, but it is still amazing how many years have gone by.
This was their first nationally televised performance 💛 … and then the hits just kept coming. With a huge single as the follow up to this song (Baby Love), they surely had come a long way from being “No Hit Supremes”.
where are Holland Dozier Holland when you need them? They don't make stuff like this anymore and it's acrying shame. And these chicks weren't lipsynching; this was all them. I wish they had shown the sax player because this song more than any other prompted me to take up that instrument. God bless all those Motown folks.
Really enjoy when they all stood 2gether with their own microphones. And sang..3 2gether..! I didn't like when " ms Ross was up front and Flo and Mary in the back!
Thanks for posting. I subscribed. I liked this song so much I put it on my YT music playlist: 1960's SUPER FANTASTIC MUSIC. MIND BLOWING. IT'S ALL TOO MUCH. PUT IT ON YOUR PHONE! NOT "GREATEST HITS" TOP 40. TOP 1000!
People were more respectful in those days, or differently respectful would be more apt. In those days, people LISTENED to the artist perform and they were also mindful of the other people enjoying the performance. Nowadays, the expectation is that every artist and "artist" deserves a standing ovation.
@@kadejito1 they were mesmerized by the performance and wanted to hear every word, not disrupting the show all loud, louder than the performers. It was an era of respect, not a bunch of zanies looking for 5 minutes of fsme.
R.I.P Mary Wilson February 8,2021...Fly high angel 💙💙💙💙
Florence Ballard is a dream!! Pure cute!!
faith evans can play flo ballard
Rip Mary and Flo, 🙏 beautiful music, beautiful ladies
America hit its peak of coolness with the Motown era. Nothing compares.
Flo had amazing stage presence!!
Florence Ballard was absolutely brilliant..a very talented young lady..
I adore these women. They not only make it look easy, they make it look fun too.
And they remained "ladies" every step of the way.
What a sound! Diana Ross has the perfect popular music singing voice
Florence looks like Jackie Kennedy, so elegant and classy.
Class, grace and the Motown sound! Timeless!
Perhaps the most under-rated band in American history. Pure talent and harmony and genius!
What makes you believe they're underrated? Did you travel the globe taking a survey from every citizen of the world? Please explain.
@@gogoyubari366 haha, that's amazing

def not underrated…
OMG Granny Flo, Rest In Paradise
I can’t believe no one in the audience is moving or even tapping a foot . I’d be right up there Lordy

I also think part of the reason is this is a more mature crowd.
They're white,
They are all glued. Must have been great at the same time. Great that they came to see them, but horrible they could not even eat there…

I'm so in love with young Diana Ross 😘
I'm so in love with young Florence Ballard..
Supremes' fans will miss you, Mary. 2/8/21. What a class act.
These girls were so awesome.
Diana absolutely murders this performance.

Classic song and performance. ❤️
The Supremes are the song sirens of love, with a touch of heart ache!
Love it!!!!
One of the best songs ever!!!!!
On this day in '64 the Supremes recorded Where Did Our Love Go? Simply the Best.

Singing live thx Diane Flo and Mary Wilson

Awesome the real deal ❤🎉😊
Dianias beehive hair is so beehive that it has bees living in it.
She looks beautiful!!
I think their concentrating on the performance❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Diana Ross's is the classiest woman that ever lived in entertainment. And I love her So.
She had them hook line and sinker with the 00:21 "All by myself"

I like this version better than the regular version.
Really enjoy when they all stood 2gether with their own microphones. And sang..3 2gether..! I didn't like when " ms Ross was up front and Flo and Mary in the back!
I'm sorry for you
The most wonderful black creatures of all time.
@teamfun4 Absolutely. I generally preferred Martha and The Vandellas style but at thier best the Supremes were really great.
Maravilhosas

So Fucking Awesome
mamma mia che meraviglia!
Diana Ross was so perfect❤❤❤
I love how concerts back then didn't have to worry about live singing autotune mess
Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
I miss Florence so much. Such a gorgeous queen. So very sad how she died so young. What a bunch of zombies in that stupid audience.

CLASS ACT
Really like how Flo and Mary " match their voices " on their stage performance actually "
❤❤❤
This is when women who could actually sing didn't have to appear naked to display their God-given talent.
Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
Yes!!!
They don’t have to now. They choose to.

@MusicbyBenjamin Did not! LOL I did but it's fixed now. Thanks for the heads up.
I think this where they were younger
It is this is their first hit song the rest is history
Music was just so amazing then and the women2 were classy.
Is they were the greatest girl group the group that came out of motown records the supreme baby
1964.....
I thought flo danced well to the dance steps, she was truly the main one that made those dance steps stick out!!!!!!
Flo was better than diana. Flo had class.
They all had class. The whole motown roster
I can only hear Mary but how bout Flo?
I can tell Florence is not a fan of the steps. Lol
YUP
Slow it down make it real
You can hear Mary and Flo better.. strong harmonies.
Wonder why they stop singing this? They didn’t even sung it to their Encore finale? Is it because it was associated with Flo?
I'm 17 and i prefer this rather than justin bibeer shits and many other.
Obviously, The Supremes were a big part of the youth music of their day. Kind of jarring to see them in this stuffy supper club setting.
If available gardner was the most beautiful woman in the 50's then its mary Wilson in the 60's
LOL! You mispelled Supremes. LOL again.
Was status in the group based on wig size? Is that why Diana Ross has such a giant dome on her head?
That wig was everything. Knock it off
Wow, not even lipsynced!
❤❤❤
