  • The Montreal Canada area is a cyclist’s paradise! One of the most picturesque urban segments of the coast-to-coast Trans Canada Trail is the Route Verte bike path. The Bike Link between Parc Jean-Drapeau and the Sainte-Catherine Locks offer some of the best views of the Montreal waterfront and the sensation of actually riding on the Saint Lawrence Seaway on a thin jetty. This route is one for bridge lovers as it takes you across the awe-inspiring crossing on the Estacade duPont Champlain.
We will ride on the Montreal Grand Prix Track, as well as on the site of the 1967 World’s Fair. This ride took place on June 2, 2023.

Amsterdam is not the best city in the Netherlands for cycling. That are cities like Utrecht and Groningen.
Edit: Just found a video that Utrecht is the best cycling city in the world, this year. I live in Amersfoort, a city close to Utrecht. We were last year the best city in Europe. (Also you want to see awesome middle age gates, and a not touristic middle age city centre)

Your video brought this particular trail to my attention. Ive been to Montreal many many times by car but this summer i plan to bring my bike. Ill have to check out that long narrow trail along the river. Great video! Not sure if youve been to Beloiel just south east of the champlain bridge....its a lovely area! 1/2 hour by car or 2 hours by bike. So pretty there.

Thank you for participating in the discussion of this great trail. We've only been on two trails in Montreal. We'll need to get back there for sure as there are so many more to explore. Thanks for watching.

As a Montrealer and a fan of cycling, I ride the trails you have described every week when the weather is good. Next time, you may ride the Lachine Canal all the way to lake St-Louis, it is beautiful.

It was great having a little country, uncontested riding and then being right in the middle of the city. I was fascinated by the history of the Expo and building an island for it; then repurposing the island for all the things they have there today. Thanks for watching.

I guess there could be worse things….. Nothing wrong with a good, long bucket list. How was the High Bridge trip? I hope you had a great time and didn’t get stung by any of the wasps that seemed to be all around the bridge.

@@Adventuresonebikes you are correct. There could be worse things. The Highbridge trail was supposed to be our last ride on a 5 Day Rd. trip. Ended up being a very rainy day so the only part we rode was the bridge itself. L O L. That video will be out in about two weeks, but we are running the rest of the rides until then. The washboard smart enough to stay home on such a rainy day. Lol.

Hi. Unfortunately I do not have a GPS route for any of our rides. I’m not even sure how to get a GPS route for a ride! We just looked at the map and figured it out (well, not totally as we got lost on Nun’s Island). Thanks for watching.

I’m pretty sure they didn’t need a Quebec passport to get on the trail. An American should not be expected to concern himself with your wannabe preoccupations. Respect your tourists before you ask them to respect you.
