  • Identifying some mental health pitfalls can be the first step towards improving your mental health. Your mental health requires as much attention as your physical health. It is important to look out for any habits of yours that may be negatively affecting your mental health. If you make an effort to recognize and eliminate such habits from your life, your mental health will certainly thank you for it.

I can relate to you too. I used to do that a lot. But I learned new ways to talk to myself. I learned that I am only human, and everyone in this world is a living creature too that they make mistakes also and that's ok. Then I learned that if no one on this planet will ever love me because I say things I should not say, I will still survive by loving myself. And it helps me. Also, I learned to put myself in the shoes of others. So, if my friend would say something that I did not like, would I still love that person? The answer was always -Yes, I will. And by learning those things I felt loved and secure and little by little ruminating stopped. I hope it helps.

I've had too much me time. I never do anything 'cause there's nothing to do where I live and I feel like a bother when asking my friends if they want to hang out, they either don't want to or they're busy (Ik they need time for themselves too). I'm starting to hate having to go home when I go to a friend's place. I get lonely easily because I'm not used to being alone all the time. I have an older sibling who moved out and I'm desperate to go anywhere just to forget how lonely it is at home.

There's so much to do & you don't even have to do all of them with friends! Here are some ideas I put together:
      -Family movie night
      -drive-in movie
-family "date" night with lights and a picnic outside
-write a letter to your future self
-write a letter to your future child

      -beach
      -nature walk/hike
      -go biking
      -start reading more
-start learning for you Driver's license (if you don't have it already)
      -paint something
      -watch the sunset
      -make a scrapbook
      -make homemade sushi
-start journaling/diary & just writing things you feel, about your day, etc.
-call someone you haven't talked to in a while
-go camping, maybe even just in your backyard
-wake up early to watch the sunrise
-take a bath with candles and music
      -boardgames
      -family game night
      -road trip
-go a day with only answering "yes"
-try going a day blindfolded to see what it's like for a blind person
-clean out your closet and simplify your life
      -do a hair mask
      -phone free day
      -bake something
      -make homemade ice cream
      -make s'mores
-do a good deed (and don't tell anyone)
      -hopscotch on the side walk
-put inspiring & motivational quotes around your room
      -strive for self improvement
-sew something (or learn to sew if you don't know how)
-spa day or a self care/"me day"
      -30 day workout challenge
      -write a song or poem
      -prank call

      -dance in the rain
      -complement a stranger
      -make kombucha
      -mini photoshoot
      -virtual reality tour
-learn a new language & only watch movies in that language
-look through your photos, pick your favorites from the past year & make a photo book or album and write the story behind each picture
      -gratitude journal
      -memorize the periodic table
Learn a new style of dance I.E. belly dancing or breakdancing
-work on self love and self esteem
      -learn vocab words/improve your vocabulary
-limit your time on tik tok and social media
-take time to reflect: What have you accomplished this year? What goals are you setting for yourself in the next year? How are you going to get to those goals?

I can't emphasise how important it is to have a "me" day every so often.
A few months ago with uni, I totally 100% burnt myself out physically and mentally from overworking and not looking after myself, and I have diagnosed mental illnesses which made it all worse. Burnout is no fun, and you shouldn't push yourself so much. One of my friends got me to talk to one of my teachers to explain what was going on, and they were very understanding - so people in similar situations, remember that not everything is a "do or die" situation, and recognise that there are people who actually WANT to help and see you succeed!
So, take a break when you need it, you're not weak for needing some time to recover and look after yourself, even if you need to do it a bit more than other people!! Make sure you eat well, KEEP HYDRATED, and do some exercise if you can too, because all these things contribute to good mental health as well. If you're lazy, eggs are an excellent source of nutrition with most of the nutrients you need for the day, and are a great source of protein, and orange juice would fix you up for vitamin C. If you burnout, your immune system weakens too and you're more vulnerable to sickness too, so it's super important now to keep that in mind! Look after yourself everyone and rest up, buy yourself a treat!! ☺️💕

    • @newhealth4718
      @newhealth4718 3 роки тому

@@newhealth4718 Absolutely - but not just stress - that plus not eating and drinking enough water. People underestimate the power of water and food, it seriously affects your mood and your entire sense of well-being! It's when stress is combined with that, that's when it becomes bad and you can burn out suuuuper easily and become sick

I hope that you could make more video’s about triggers with PTSD how that physically and mentally works.
I’m easily triggered the last couple of weeks. I’ve got my PTSD from domestic violence and sexual abuse by my ex. And every time I hear people scream or fight I will freeze and panic. My body reacts heavily and that stays for days. Same as a specific car driving by or a straight/serious look in someone’s eyes makes me nauseous and gives me anxiety.
But most of my family and friends don’t really understand how I react so intense and long to a trigger that, in their eyes, is something small. Would love to show them a video that could explain it better than me!
