The catholic philosopher Edward Feser wrote a book about scholastic hylemorphism and its relations to Relativity, Quantum Mechanics, Evolution Biology, ...
He called the book 'Aristotle's Revenge'.
He is pointing out how science is based on philosophical principles going back to Aristotle.
He is not saying that Aristotle was right about how the physical world works, that is obviously nonsense.
But Aristotle was thinking about some nice metaphysical principles like act and potency, change, matter and immaterial form, ...
How do you guys think about this? Medieval nonsense? Worth reading?

Interesting! To be honest I'm not familiar with this work / the points made but it's certainly something to look into for another podcast :) thanks for pointing this out.

I forget James’s info. Could you link him?

At the end of the day, a physicist cannot be anti-realistic. The problem of realism arises in EPR experiments because of the problem of measurement from the wave function. In a quantum experiment, if you get a measurement, you have to pay attention to its physical meaning. What is a measure? What is a signal or a wave function? If we don't care, we end up like the French physicist A. Aspect in believing that Physics is not local. Now you hear quantum physicists telling you that quantum physic is not local and relativity should be false... Some say Physics is nonlocal but relativity is still true but that is not compatible. How could engineers looking for a quantum applications trust these kinds of quantum theories?
