Thanks for showing this install, I lifted our 4runner with 3" suspension but afterwards, the rear had a 1" sag and it bothers me. So, I am ordering these coil spacers too. Thanks and keep up the great work!
I'm in the same boat with my fj. which spacers did you go with?
Nice work! I just watched your brother start his wide body kit. Great edit!
Have also installed a spacers for my fj , but I have done it without using a spring compressor. Anyway it is good to learn more.
Mike great video, your DIY videos are very informative. Maybe you could put more thought into the tools you use. the ratcheting boxend wrench yeah, would have been nice but not really needed. You used the correct size wrench but ,the channel locks on the shock upper attach point when the manufacture provides a nut is pretty low end. Mike your videos are very good technical, safety, improvisations. I know mechanic work is not your profession just sayin not bitching again love your videos
Thanks for the feedback... you're probably right.
I am pretty sure that bump stop you removed was also a spring helper for a plusher ride and softer bottom outs.
Great detail in all your vids.
Fantastic video as always.
Great video, thanks! How do you like the 6112/5100 combo? Ride, handling etc.?
Nice FJ!
Nice hard work man!
How did you get your FJ into the garage? Mine is about 2" two tall and your looks taller than mine
Are those the 25mm spacers from ironman4x4? I just got them because with my stage 1 ironamn4x4 lift, the rear has a little bit if a sag. Hopefully mine looks as good as this. Great video!👍
Yes they are
How about putting a small bottle jack between the bump stop and axle?
Yeah that's a good option too
Good video! But i thought rear solid axles dont need wheel alignments?!
It doesn't but the front still needs realigned after lifting
@@DrivenCompanion yep definitely front, my prado went really positive camber
I am about to do this with my 4 runner. Running 5100s at 1.75 in front and using the iron man 4x4 25 mm spacers in the rear. I do already have air bags installed. Will this application work if I completely remove the bump stops?
Hi. Good video and the Fj looks awesome. But I have a question. So , in the front the Fj is lifted 2.5” and in the back is just 1”?
So I guess the only other question I have is. Were you able to get the FJ out of the garage with the extra Height 🤔 also who makes the spacers and how much do they cost? Thanks take care 👋.
No issues with the added height. Still might be able to squeeze a rooftop tent on even. Spacers are from Ironman 4x4 and I think they were $35/piece
Great video. Thanks. Would it be possible to add let's say a 2 inch spacer kit using stock suspension?
Sure would
Personally I would have just put bigger springs in since their cheap and readily available, I've heard alot of bad things about the spacers and if you had sag then the springs were bad and u put them back in. But good video for those who make that choice
I put bigger springs in and didn't get the advertised height - didn't feel like replacing my already new springs with another set...
@@DrivenCompanion Same exact thing happened to me with my new Bilstein suspension and B12 springs, so I'm also looking at spacers now. Not crazy about losing the bump stops though. I've definitely been on some difficult trails where I can feel the bump stops hit. That makes me wonder what it might be like without them. It's been 2 years now since you installed your spacers, can you tell me how your spacers have worked out for you and did you ever feel like the missing bump stops were an issue?
Will post the link to the spacers? I can’t find them on their site
What kind/size wheels inch width and tire size?
Do you have extended brake lines?
Can those work on the Toyota prado 190??
What did you to get rid of the driver side lean. I bought an FJ with the 5100 kit already installed but it has a bad lean
The driver side clip should be 2 steps higher than the passenger side. You should be able to tell where they are set - perhaps they are at the same level.
@@DrivenCompanion the clips are sitting at the same level on both sides. Did you have to do anything to the rear like a spacer or longer coil on the driver side?
cool how do you like them so far Mike, ive got a runner and upgraded to ome 1.5 in the rears 1.75 Bilstein's in front , Def considering this to bring that factory rake back esp with cargo and stuff
No complaints so far
4th gen and 5th gen 4runner are the same as well
So, you are adding spacers after a suspension lift?
Yes, I replaced the coils and wasn't getting enough height in the rear so I added the spacers.
@@DrivenCompanion I am just trying to decide what is the best lift to accommodate 33's. Also how much power I may lose. Mine is a six speed standard
Were you getting rubbing or was this merely for aesthetics? 🤔
Aesthetics so It wasn't leaning in the back
Got it. I have been wanting to add a half inch spacer on the rear of my 07. But I only need 1/2 inch spacer. Having trouble finding it.
@@lonesomecricket7721 Dobinsons makes 0.6” rear coil spacers
Lol the comments below.
I think it looked better before lol
With the rear end sagging?
Hell no it doesn’t 😂 he actually uses his rigs and when loaded up with gear the rear would sag wayyy too much.
@@DrivenCompanion I couldn’t see a lean on my end. I think you all you had to do was wait a bit for the front to settle down on it’s own
