Well, there are some games on the N64 that had FMV (like Resident Evil 2) but the compression techniques used on it, weren’t readily available when Goldeneye was being developed/released. If they were, I’m pretty sure we would have had a few FMV scenes from the movie, to connect certain parts of the gameplay. Heck, they could have even used the ill fated Disc Drive!

Yeah. I remember first playing Goldeneye multiplayer in an after school social club in a church hall when I was in my early teens. Fun times.

Adding these special effects was an excellent decision, oh my gosh! A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one

@@CasioMaker Interesting. Would Rareware have been able to use actual Goldeneye movie footage if FMV was possible on N64?
