I think why they are so popular is because they just work. I think their heavy involvement with OEM allows them an inside look at why the manufacturer specified those exact specs. And knowing why matters a lot because if they just apply the "make stiffer, then stiffen it" ethos like most other coilover makers, it just ruins the car. I own a set because I sat in other cars with them and fell in love. You really can't go wrong with TEIN
I have a set of Flex Z on my 13 FRS. I discovered that the Flex A is exactly the same with the addition of a hydraulic bumpstop in the shock tube. I may order those when my current tubes wear out but that probably won't be any time soon. I think what makes these coilovers so brilliant is that the shock stroke is not affected by lowering the car and the price point is very affordable without sacrificing quality. I did the math and buying replacement tubes costs less than buying a rebuildable coilover that I have to spend money shipping back to manufacturer for rebuilds. I believe all current tein coilovers are compatible with their edfc system where as you only get those features on really high end coilovers in every other brand. And best part is that all of them are still made in Japan.
I had a set of Tein coil overs on my 97 Del Sol si back in 99. They were great. I first saw their adds in Grass Roots Motorsports mag when I was running in SCCA competition at Mid Ohio.
Why is Tein so popular? I'm already on my 3rd coilovers, including the MonoSports. When installed, you can drop the car 1-2 inches and it still rides like stock. They have camber adjustments on many of their coilovers. You can go lower than 2 inches, but it will effect ride quality. Most importantly, they sell quality.
I have teins all around on my 1992 240sx they were 1800$ all in but ive had them on for 5 years and they still look new and work amazing, definitely worth it there quality
Before Magnaride become popular in performance cars. Tein has this product called the EDFC or Electronic Damping Force Controller. That was the OG active suspension. What makes this brand popular was the number of applications for street, track and drift and rally. And even specific to each type of cars like sports cars to station wagons and family cars.
Hey alex!! Please do a video about proper installation of coil over!! I put Tein flex Z on my 10th gen civic, but suddenly it has an annoying squeaking & rumbling sound its been more than a month now we havnt figure out how to fix it, everything seems well exept for that very uncomftable noise!! Please help 🙂
I have a Dampachi sticker on my laptop... oh and a Tein umbrella... oh and once I had a Tein backpack... I ruined it though, but will get another... the orange one.
I saw some TEIN enduro shocks for my Honda Accord. Are these shocks/struts comparable to the GL series from KYB? Could someone please inform me. Thanks
I personally prefer TEIN just because there have been some guys at our shop who run/have run them on their ride, And the quality of the ride is really nice and smooth! It is all personal preference I would also throw out there we sadly do not offer KYB coils on our site!
It will not be better on a specific car, however the RS might already have some suspension if you wanted to save time and money. If your looking to upgrade TEIN does make some really killer quality products that a couple of the guys here a the shop run!
Tien is good because they make good products. Have you ever driven a car with Tiens? Max out softness and they're still harsh. They might be well manufactured, but they aren't well engineered for each individual platform.
I always felt that TTein died as a company cause people stopped talking about them around 09 and only remembered they were a company when I see the stickers on cars that have been built in those periods and maintained
I had TEIN S.Tech springs on my S2000 and they were bouncy. I think the previous owner didn't match dampers to the springs, which is an important thing to consider.
I'm rocking a set of Tein Tech S Lowering Springs, on my Corolla but it's just not low enough for my liking. So I'm gonna save up for a set of BC Racing Coilovers, Extreme drop and install them on my car next year in the spring, of 2019 Tein Springs, rides like ass When I'm on a bumpy road I feel every bump and it's not comfortable. I prefer Coilovers, because I can go way lower to the ground while keeping the Rear of my car higher up off the ground so I won't bottom out on driveways, and bumps, on the road. Plus cars look way sexier when they're slammed.
Here's what I know about Tein. I'm an original owner of an Evolution IX. Their springs for the platform were, what, dreamed up in a meeting? The spring rates are incorrect, the geometry is off - the car hops around corners. Their springs did lower the car more than others. As such, on this platform, in essence, their spring rates went to infinity as soon as one turned the wheel. Garbage.
Can you guys do JOM blueline? Actually just looking for info about them. Almost everyone here in cape town are running then because they are cheap but can't find any info on them. Please do an episode lol
Could you guys do the truth about body kit companies like for example rocket bunny, cwest, veilside and companies like that. Thank you in advanced if you guys read this.😎
Went to honda day in Englishtown, NJ told the car show “judge” that my car had Tein coilovers & he looked at me then said “What are those?” Long story short honda day that was my last honda day
Liked and subbed. My question when you make these videos and use all those tein video clips or rally car driving clips. Obviously those you did not film. Is that ok to do on UA-cam. I started a channel and always wondered. Some say you can use it if it’s a short clip. Any feedback on that
BULLI KID as long as its some sort of commentary/critique/parody on the subject. It's usually OK to use parts of it. But just using their entire video is probably gonna get taken down. UA-cam has that on their rules and what not. Looks through it for more info.
Can you do a video on TruHart or Forms and Function suspension??? I run TruHarts on my 1995 Accord and I really like them 👌🏼 but I'd love to know what you guys think.
Mark7 GTI - had solowerks coils on a B5 S4 avant , surprisingly they rode good and go pretty low (tucking rim) ... By NO means were they H&R ultra lows or KW variants but decent for daily driving.
I think why they are so popular is because they just work. I think their heavy involvement with OEM allows them an inside look at why the manufacturer specified those exact specs. Completely agree! What are you running them on?
I have a set of Flex Z on my 13 FRS. I discovered that the Flex A is exactly the same with the addition of a hydraulic bumpstop in the shock tube. I remember wanting the EDFC from Tein on my 2001 GSR. Now all I need is AVS struts for my IS! this is awesome.
6:31 just click the time, you won't regret it.
JAPAN 😂
I had a set of Tein coil overs on my 97 Del Sol si back in 99. They were great. I first saw their adds in Grass Roots Motorsports mag when I was running in SCCA competition at Mid Ohio.
Been rockin tein for almost 20 years. I absolutely love their coilovers and definitely held up over the last 20 years of street and track use.

Thank you for letting me know the coffee was safe this video, I couldn't handle a repeat of the tragedy!
Neither could we
Bout time boys, much appreciated! Awesome content
just a Question sir, is it good for my hondA civic lx 2014? or RS better? what about the price? which is cheapier but nice Quality.
It will not be better on a specific car, however the RS might already have some suspension if you wanted to save time and money. If your looking to upgrade TEIN does make some really killer quality products that a couple of the guys here a the shop run!
Can’t wait for you guys to do fortune auto coil overs, I know it’s comming ;)
You know 😏
I want the red/orange rims in the top right corner. What brand are they?
Cosmis XT-005R
Have they done bc racing?
Not yet but we are going too!
Fitment Industries ohh good 😂
I have Flex Zs on my Miata. Great coilovers, what else can I say, they work great.
I see people bash them because they don’t go super low. They have been the best coilovers that I’ve had. I’ve had BC and Ksport and all got rusty
Tien is good because they make good products. Have you ever driven a car with Tiens? Max out softness and they're still harsh. They might be well manufactured, but they aren't well engineered for each individual platform.
Currently running Tein Super Street Fully Adjustable coilovers.👍🏽👌🏽
I always felt that TTein died as a company cause people stopped talking about them around 09 and only remembered they were a company when I see the stickers on cars that have been built in those periods and maintained
just seen them for mustang gt should i get them ??
What's the backround song 😂 please tell me
One of my struts makes a noise like it needs a spacer... But all the hardware is on correctly... Anyone else had this problem? Need help.
My experience w/ Tein is that they are very good and well engineered
Thanks guys for this video.

I had TEIN S.Tech springs on my S2000 and they were bouncy. I think the previous owner didn't match dampers to the springs, which is an important thing to consider.
What about Ohlins? They're expensive and everyone raves on their performance ability. They also do custom work.
We'll add it to the docket!
i’m interested in a set of tein lowering springs, does anybody have experience w the quality of tein products?
Edelbrock IAS shocks (why was the technology banded from NASCAR and why it failed to find a place in the after market?)
