    👇 Tools + Materials list below 👇
    In this video, I walk you through step by step as I create a pair of beautiful beaded teardrop hoop earrings with wire. First, you’ll learn how to make a sturdy teardrop shape wire frame for your earrings, then we’ll use a finer wire to fill them with beads to create a fun and flirty pair of colorful beaded earrings.
    This wire wrapping tutorial is a little bit different from my other jewelry tutorial videos in that I didn’t know exactly what I was going to make when I sat down and started the camera - so you’ll see my design process from start to finish and how I deal with mistakes or problems that come up along the way. There is a little bit of chit-chat which is also different for me, but I hope that you’ll find this design process video helpful for learning to adapt when your original design ideas don’t go exactly as planned ❤️

    Hey there! Hope you're doing well in your part of the world. What have you been up to / how are things for you?
    I haven't left my house in at least a month now so I've been MAKING like crazy and I thought I'd turn the camera on over my shoulder while I play with beads and wire. You'll see my design process and some problem-solving as I create these beautiful earrings on the fly. That's a little different from my other videos, so let me know how you like it!

    I stumbled on your blog on Pinterest & found it so informative. So l subscribed here to your channel. I love these earrings & would love to take a stab at it. You explain everything that you’re doing & why, including changing your design during the process. I will continue to watch your videos & learn the “ how tos”.

    I really loved this format! I'm new to beading so I love how you talk through the process and provide tips as well. All too often I see "polished" videos that are wonderful but leaves me frustrated because it's too perfect. As a new beader I like learning all of the nuances and trials as you work on your piece. Thanks for this video and I love the earrings!

      I'm so glad! Sorry for the late reply - I'm super behind at life right now 🤪 Just wanted to say that I really appreciate this feedback - it's hard to know which way to go because some people say "OMG get to the point!!" and others say "slow down!!" but you make a really good point. Things don't always go as planned so I can definitely see the value in sharing the 'real' process. I will try to include more videos like this going forward 🙏

    LOVE this style of video. I like seeing the mistakes. But I'm a beginner and a visual learner. Knowing what not to do is just as important to me as knowing what TO do. I know that more experienced jewelry makers might not want to see all that but it's so appreciated by me!!

      I do enjoy this format. It's relatable. It justifies the steps I take when making a piece. I'm used to watching videos that are focused on the end result and not the process of getting there. By all means, do more of these types of videos. It's as if we are at the table with you!

    Hi! I’m a newer subscriber to you so I was excited to see you making a video again. I’m still somewhat new to jewelry making. I do some stringing and I love bead weaving. I’ve done a little bit with wire but I still consider myself to be new. This type of video is really helpful to see how you troubleshoot things, so thank you for that! It’s very helpful to see why you did it a certain way. My next comment is only because you asked for honest feedback and if there’s a reason for it, feel free to explain it to me (or you can ignore it). I’m not a fan of ads in the tutorials because I find it disruptive. I can understand one or two as that’s how, to my knowledge, creators get paid but you have quite a lot of ads that break up the video. That’s just my honest feedback. As for the current situation, I’m disabled so I’m used to being at home and not going out. It’s been nice to have my husband home and my younger son is home taking his college classes online, but hopefully we’ll beat this soon and things can go back to somewhat normal. I love your style and I look forward to seeing and learning more from you. Thank you for sharing!

    • @JewelryTutorialHQ
      @JewelryTutorialHQ  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Sharon! Thanks so much for watching and I'm glad you found this video helpful! And I appreciate your honest feedback about the ads - I actually didn't realize there were several in the middle of the video. I thought it was just going to be one about halfway but it sounds like way more than that, which I can understand is annoying and disruptive! So, thanks for bringing that to my attention - this is something I will look into and see if I can reduce it!
      Hoping things will be back to normal soon, though I can't say I'm not enjoying all this time to create. Thanks again for your kind words and (gentle) honesty 💖

    • @StitchesbySharonH
      @StitchesbySharonH 4 роки тому

      JewelryTutorialHQ Oh wow, I wonder if it’s different for everyone then? I usually only get one, sometimes two, but this video had five or six... I’ll try to go back and rewatch it and see if there’s as many. Thank you for letting me know your side!

    • @JewelryTutorialHQ
      @JewelryTutorialHQ  4 роки тому +1

      Wow! That is a LOT. I hadn't considered that it could be different each time but that makes sense I suppose. If there's not 1 longer ad (say, 30 seconds) in the queue maybe they go with several shorter ones (5 seconds)? Not really sure but if you do watch again I am extremely curious. From my end (at first glance) it appears I only have the option of "mid-roll ads" on or off. I've never looked into this before because this is my first video over 10 minutes which is apparently the minimum for those type of ads to show.
      Again - thank you! I'm going to keep digging / ask around to see what the deal is on this!

    • @StitchesbySharonH
      @StitchesbySharonH 4 роки тому

      JewelryTutorialHQ Okay, when I went into it, there are 6 yellow square dots along the bottom play bar. I played it again but put it on 2x’s speed and there were three ads. I wonder why there’s so many if it’s only giving you an on/off choice? Maybe someone else will see this and let you know how many ads they have? Does anyone in your household have their own UA-cam account that you can watch your video on and see how many ads you get? Now I’m curious to know why I got so many on your video, while others whom I’ve been watching for a while now only get one or two. I’m going to do some googling and see if I can find out!!

    • @JewelryTutorialHQ
      @JewelryTutorialHQ  4 роки тому +1

      I found it! It was ME, not you. The default # of mid-roll ads for this particular video was SIX, which is totally nuts. I cut it down to 2 which I hope will not be too frustrating for most people! Ads do help fund my ability to spend time producing videos (and my bead habit, lol). UA-cam / Google shares a fraction of the ad revenue with us, but it's definitely not enough to risk irritating a ton of people, so really - thank you so much for bringing this up!

    I don’t enjoy live videos. I find it annoying when the instructor keeps stopping and saying hello to viewers.

    • @JewelryTutorialHQ
      @JewelryTutorialHQ  4 роки тому

      Thanks Theresa, I'm glad you enjoyed it! That's a really great point about live videos. Also, I know I would be really distracted and lose my train of thought too easily and that would probably be really frustrating to watch as well. I like the way this worked as a 'premiere', which is to have a live chat when the video is first available, but the video is pre-recorded so it can be free of those other distractions.
      I really appreciate your feedback!

      Fantastic! In that case you can try CooksonGold.com OR Etsy.com. (search for .80 mm round wire half hard)
      www.cooksongold.com/category_select.jsp?query=.80+round+wire+half+hard&channel=uk
      here is the exact wire I used in the video at CooksonGold: www.cooksongold.com/Base-Metal/Beadalon-German-Style-Wire-Round---Silver-Plated-20-Gauge-Half-Hard-prcode-998-1282
      On Etsy you can filter your search by the shop's location (try Europe if there's nothing in Portugal) and also by shops that will ship to your location.
      Hope that helps!
