    According to Beadalon it has nothing to do with strength it's to do with flexibility, I presumed 7 was weaker than the rest but the sizes are all the one thickness it's just the individual stainless steel wires in the 7 are thicker than the ones in the 19 or 49, hence the flexibility. Blew my mind too 🤯

    • @oneglance8759
      @oneglance8759  Рік тому +3

      Sort of yes and sort of no-yes to the flexibility for sure. And yes to the width of the wires changing. A wire that is 49/.018” and a 7/.018” are both the same width (.018”) but have a different number of strands so obviously the 49 strand wires would be skinnier because they all have to fit in the same space. But since there are way more of the number of wires in it, there are way more chances that it has to break-it would have to break all 49 wires instead of just seven meaning it is more likely not to break meaning it’s stronger.

    Marvelous. Do you have any videos about choosing wire color?

    • @oneglance8759
      @oneglance8759  4 місяці тому

      Not really, since you will only be seeing the actual color of the wire in a tiny section about an eighth of an inch on the back of your wire guardian, we pretty much just use the silver color for everything! You can choose colored wires, but unless you have clear beads, its kind of just an additional cost for not much benefit. Hope this helps!

    I am not sure why is my comment being deleted. But here I go again, hopefully you can help me... I just received the item Beadalon 49 Strand .018 , Nylon Coated, 0.46mm today. I want to ask another question. Does this thing rust overtime? I am going to use this to make rosary and I wanted it as durable as possible but I am really afraid of rusting in time, I wanted it to last atleast a persons lifetime. Please help me understand, I am trying to research and I do not get a definitive answer. Thank you!

    • @oneglance8759
      @oneglance8759  4 місяці тому +1

      Hey, sorry you're having an issue commenting, I didn't see any other comments from you, so I'll respond to you here and if I missed anything else, just let me know! I don't see any orders with us from you, so if you have ordered your items from another location, I can't offer any definitive answers on their products, but if it was the exact same item that we sell and discussed in this video, then you should have no issues. The wire has a nylon coating to protect the twisted metal wires in it to prevent any damage or rusting over time. If there is any rusting or anything, this means the nylon coating has been damaged by accidentally being cut or rubbed by a sharp edged bead or something and should be repaired fairly soon before being worn again. So, unless the cord gets damaged/cut, there should be no issues!

      I actually did not know that you guys were selling... I was just focusing on what was recommended on the video. I wish I could just ask you directly, but I have to finish this before Valentines Day. So ya, I already got the item from ebay, I forgot who's the seller. I see, ya, the item won't be worn, or rarely rarely worn. So thank you for your thoughts and reply! I really appreciated it so much!@@oneglance8759

    what string would you recommend for 4mm navajo pearls? Do you want to put the biggest wire you can in the hole?

    • @oneglance8759
      @oneglance8759  25 днів тому

      Basically yes, the largest that will fit through the hole comfortably. You shouldn’t need to force it on, and it should slide down the string easily. .018 should work fine for those beads I believe, but if the holes are extra small, you can jump down to the .015.

    Hi i have class seed beads 40g what size of wire can i use?

    • @oneglance8759
      @oneglance8759  3 роки тому

      Thanks for asking! So the 40g actually stands for 40 grams which is the weight of how much you received in the bottle. What you need to look for to determine size is a number with a small o next to it, for example 6o, 8o, 11o, 15o, etc. Sometimes it will have a slash between: 6/0, 8/0. 11/0, 15/0, etc. Most of these however should be fine with the .018in size beading wire in any of the quality levels as that does not change the thickness of the wire. If you go down any smaller than the 15's, I would use a .015in wire. Hope this helps :)

    Is this better than the Wildfire Stringing Thread .006x50 vs the 49? Please let me know... :(

    • @oneglance8759
      @oneglance8759  5 місяців тому +1

      So wildfire is actually a completely different kind of product that we typically use for seed bead weaving and projects like that which would use a needle and thread type product. The type of stringing wire in this video is made especially for stringing beads and adding a clasp to them like you would for bracelets, necklaces, and anklets etc. It should make a much better lasting project for you.

    • @KurushimiVrishraka
      @KurushimiVrishraka 5 місяців тому

      Oh, so that means you recommend this more for necklaces and bracelets? I got the wrong material that I used! I must buy this, I need a durable one that last long, especially me as a clumsy person. Thank you so much! I appreciated the reply!@@oneglance8759

    • @oneglance8759
      @oneglance8759  6 місяців тому

      So for color, since you won't be seeing any of the wire except in a miniscule area on the closure section, we always just use silver tone- the beads are going to cover up the wire anyhow :)
