Here’s a traditional UK style beef jerky recipe Ingredients 1 kg (2.2 lbs) lean beef (top round, sirloin, or flank steak work well) 125 ml (1/2 cup) soy sauce 125 ml (1/2 cup) Worcestershire sauce 2 tbsp brown sugar 1 tbsp smoked paprika 1 tbsp garlic powder 1 tbsp onion powder 1 tsp black pepper 1 tsp sea salt 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat Instructions 1. Prepare the Meat Trim the Fat: Trim any visible fat from the meat as fat can spoil the jerky. Freeze Slightly: Partially freeze the meat for about 1-2 hours to make it easier to slice. Slice: Cut the beef into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick. Slice against the grain for a tender texture or with the grain for a chewie texture. 2. Marinate the Beef Mix Marinade: In a large bowl, combine the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, sea salt, and red pepper flakes. Marinate: Place the beef strips into the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, or overnight for the best flavor. 3. Dry the Beef Oven Method: Preheat your oven to 70°C (160°F) or the lowest setting. Line baking sheets with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. Arrange the beef strips on the wire rack in a single layer. Leave the oven door slightly ajar to allow moisture to escape. Dry the beef for 4-6 hours, flipping halfway through, until the jerky is dry but still slightly pliable. Dehydrator Method: Place the beef strips on the dehydrator trays in a single layer. Set the dehydrator to 70°C (160°F) and dry for about 4-6 hours, checking periodically. The jerky is done when it is dry but still bendable. 4. Store the Jerky Allow the jerky to cool completely. Store in an airtight container or vacuum-sealed bag. It will keep at room temperature for up to 2 weeks, in the fridge for up to a month, or in the freezer for several months. Enjoy your homemade beef jerky as a tasty and nutritious snack!
White vinegar and baking soda, mix into a paste, brush on and leave for a few hours, give it a good scrub and rinse, should get most of that off your oven stuff
Great Ben. Never tried it. How do you store it ? Yes I’m sure it’s quiet without your lovely family. The beef jerky looked so much nicer than what Martin etc were trying Thanks as always and take care
Ben, I’ve not seen any thumbnail for yours and Tracey’s videos until just now, I thought you were having a break so started watching and thought I’d check if I’m still subscribed and no I wasn’t,UA-cam doing the we didn’t unsubscribe you thing AGAIN! They did it for butler’s empire too.😡 so looks like I’ve got catching up to do again😂😂❤️💋
Ben I sincerely apologise for this but I believe in the power of optimism my wonderful dog is undergoing an operation tomorrow please everyone wish her success
@Traceyandben you have such good hearts. She's 11 in August and a bit overweight so it was touch and go. She had 7 teeth removed and what we thought was an access turns out it needs a biopsy. I'm sure she will be fine. I'm not exaggerating but my daughter trained her so well she gets on with humans animals and not birds anymore my husband taught her to scare the pidgeons away. He hates those rats as he calls them. She's recovering well
Finally someone who can eat and not talk with their mouth full, it does do my head in when people do it
Love the video Ben. Nice to see someone who eats properly without a full mouth. Love ya cooking vids x

Dehydrating meat, veg etc very “in” at the moment for shtf prepping. A good idea….if you like beef!😻 Thanks!

Looks like Martin's guts were a bit jerky tonight😂 I don't blame Sharon and Tracey for wimping out😂
It was such a foul smell. 😪
Try bicarbonate of soda with a squeeze on lemon juice or vinegar .let it soak with wash with fairy liquid?
