Here’s an explanation for 0! = 1. Factorial is not just n•(n-1)•…•3•2•1. It’s designed specifically for combinatorics so n! is the number of ways to organize a set with n elements. Easy example is the number of ways to rank 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in a competition with 3 competitors. There are 3 choices for 1st, now from the remaining players there are 2 choices for 2nd, then 1 choice for 3rd which gives 3•2•1 or 3! ways of organizing them, but what if your set is the empty set i.e. has no elements well there’s only 1 way to organize the rankings in that case so 0! = 1.

I have a good explanation for why 0!=1 that I taught to a maths teacher.
When doing factorials, you're often taught that 1!=1, 2!=2, 3!=6, 4!=24, etc. However, if you work backwards, then 4!=5!/5=120/5=24, 3!=4!/4=24/4=6, 2!=3!/3=6/3=2, 1!=2!/2=2/2=1, then finally you get 0!=1!/1=1/1=1.

12:05 n! is the number of bijective functions f:S->S where |S| = n (number of permutations). So, 0! should count the number of bijective functions f:S->S where S is the empty set. There is precisely one such function, empty function, and it is automatically bijective being the inverse of itself. Therefore, 0! = 1.

Ok I'm coming up with a non algebraic solution for puzzle 40. Specifically, take the two numbers and add them together, and then take the second number and put it in front, but you overlap the app but the first digit of the second number with all but the last digit of the sum. So 2¥4 is (second number: 4)(added together 2+4=6) is 46, 11¥10 is (second number: 10)(added together 11+10=21) and then add the 0 in 10 to the 2 in 21 to get 121.

6:08 I've found a more neater and interesting answer. Using Y for fork, you can do 1 Y 11 Y 11 Y 11, which is literally all 1's. This means you could make all the other digits burning, and it would still be possible, though that would leave less room for experimentation. I wonder if there are other levels where you only need one type of digit to solve it.

21:29 I tested the following here, which also seems true: Second number times 10, then add sum of both numbers.

Which, coming to think of it more, is pretty much what you have, just a bit simplified maybe.
      So 17⩛59 should also work?

21:27 I did not notice that pattern and thought you were wrong cuz I was noticing it's different pattern
    If its X fork Y
First digit is Y, second digit is X+Y
Also can be explained as 10Y + (X+Y)
Which I'm pretty sure also works first digit is 100 making it 1000, second digit is 100(100+0) and add them which gives 1100

14:17 yeah, of course 173 not divisible by no perfect square other than 1! It's prime!

the reason 0! is 1 is that there is 1 way to arrange no items: just an empty list

0!=1 is just a convention that makes sense. Like for all defined factorial values (n+1)! = n! * (n+1) and when you plug in n=0 you get 1!=0!*1 => 0!=1

Would you ever play PVZ2? It might be a deviation from the usual games you play, but I think it would be very entertaining to watch you play it. Especially into the later levels of the game. I know that it takes a long time to get to the good stuff, but I guess it’s just something id like to see from you

I think level 40's 'fork' (I'm just going to signify it with a : because why not)was that for x:y, y was the first digit and the last digit was x+y (for example: 4:3 would be 37 because 3 is y in this case so it is at the front and 3+4 = 7 so the first digit is 3 and last is 7 so it is 37).

    12:08 I think the reason that 0! = 1 is actually really very reasonable: n! = n((n-1)!), so 1! = 1(0!) = 1, and therefore 0! = 1

I may not understand half this math because it wasn't taught in my country.. but I'm still having a wonderful time despite that. and also despite the dyscalculia bc non-algebraic stuff is the best (and also semi-complex algebra is wonderful even tho my high school classmates may disagree, wherever they are now-)
