"I wanted a happy kid; I didn't want a rich kid." Wow. That's a mother we would all love to have!

That phrase speaks volumes. My mother raised a happy kid, and he's (I'm) doing pretty good for his family. Funny how the two concepts merge.

How sweet! That Vince’s Dad made a mark on his life, No doubt Mr Gill hasn’t forgotten where he come from. Many of us are like that in that I like many am a product of who raised me and where I come from. My Dad smoked Tampa cub cigars, taught me how to plow a straight furrow, drill a hole and tap it for thread, and never bed a woman that ya wouldn’t take home to meet your MaMa. At 72 I find myself reflecting on that good advise every so often.

Took my wife to this concert in Ventura, the first night they played together, no rehearsal just two good ol’ boys shootin’ the shit and making better music goofing off than most music on the air today. God bless both of them and thanks for all the memories.

My father played the Guitar and I learned to play from him. First song he taught me was wild wood flowers, no in my late forties I had the privilege as a Pastor to preach for him at his funeral. Hearing this song reminds me of my father and I on the Guitar.

I had the pleasure of meeting your Father and chatting with him while you were on stage at the old Rodeo Roadhouse in Kingston On Canada back in the very early '90's. You had a one night stand there and we certainly enjoyed the show, very small venue and great acoustics. Your Dad was very proud of you Vince, and the time we spent together as Fathers will always be a part of my memories of my life. You've done him proud!

If I didn't know better, I'd wonder if Vince is my long lost brother... because my dad was the exact same guy. My dad was only 5' 10" but he was still a giant of a man. I grew up to be 6' 3", but I was always a bit terrified of my dad - he kicked my ass for 18 years so. He was old school as hell, but he had a great sense of humor. When I was about 5, my dad bought me a guitar. Nobody else in my family knew how to play one, and he didn't pay for lessons... or anything like that. But I tell you what... I learned to play with that guitar. Played baseball with it... used it as a wall for my blanket fort, and it made for a pretty good makeshift stool. Couldn't play a lick of music on it but I could drum on it like you wouldn't believe. I asked my dad years later (when I was old enough that he wouldn't punch me)... "So... what were you thinking? You'd just hand a five year-old a guitar and I'd just magically turn into the next Paul McCartney?" "Oh no!" he said... "It was nothing like that... I would have much prefered Marty Robbins!"
I lost my dad too... back in 1997, but everytime I think about him, he still makes me laugh.

It baffles why someone would pay for a ticket yo show others what a jerk you are. I am sure all that know you are aware. Let the entertainers do their thing and shut the heck up.

Why? Why are there always people like that at shows? Pay umpteen-dollars to hear the loud mouth in the front row? No. Didn't. I've got video of numerous great moments (concerts, personal events, school events) and in most of them... this same type of person is right there cackling. Happens in restaurants regularly, too. Ugh.
Glad she shut up at 4:50 and let Vince interrupt her with a song.

Gregory Miller she thought Vince would think it was cute and automatically become friends with her. What a knucklehead.

You got that right! And we only heard what was picked up by the microphone. Imagine sitting next to these cacklers....Well, I guess we don't have to imagine since we've all probably experienced them.
