I have to look and see when you made this video but in other videos, you said there’s not reason to sew strips in one direction and then the other because you feel that finger pressing takes care of the problem. Maybe for more narrow strips you like to do that.

Thank you for these tutorials. I’m trying to make my first quilt for a new granddaughter. I’ve never had time to even think about this but finally at age 72 the opportunity has come. I’ve pulled out the material I like and couldn’t decide what pattern I want to make. I hope by watching your tutorials I’ll find the one I like. You make it look so easy. I’ll let you know when I get it done.

Beautifully done. You have a great mind ... one that can work in forward or reverse ... that must be the way you are able to figure out how to copy a pattern (not to mention your experience with creating many many different patterns of your own). Personally, when making something for my self, I don’t do bright colors, but the pattern is beautiful. I would love to see it done in blues and greens or purples.

This fabric reminds me of my childhood bedroom, My mom painted it bright yellow and the bed covers were these beautiful bright pinks and oranges. I just loved it. Wonder if i can still find this fabric you used.? I just realized this video is from 2019 LOL I'm a little late. I do love this patter and quilt. thanks for sharing.

What about cutting jellyroll strips in half yielding 1.25” strips instead of 1.5” strips
You could use 12 strips instead of 9 ...🤔🤔🤔
Or just buy a pre-cut Honey Bun of 1.5 strips.
Donna, another winner! I have been looking for a pattern I can make for two of my granddaughters who share a bedroom. One’s favorite color is pink and the other purple, but I want them to have the same pattern. All I need to do is change the background to each of their favorite color. I can’t wait to start.

I Love that you used a bright yellow as a background. so many quilts I see are white or white.lol
I agree! The lightest I go is grey print. Love using print for background, too.
@@ween659 I personally use Kona Snow or a cream for most baby quilts and a print for sure on all others. so much texture when done.

I like this pattern and I'm trying to figure out how to engineer it so I can use a fussy cut square where the big yellow square is in this quilt. I think I'd have to make the strip set, cut a triangle and sew it to the center square.
