My son, Bill, goes to a gorgeous, tiny little school for gorgeous special children. Bill and his friends there all need just a little more care, attention, love and guidance to help them access friendships and education. Bill has autism (and a variety of other issues such as Sensory Processing Disorder, ADD, dyspraxia, Global developmental delay, and Klinefelters Syndrome) and most of his school mates have similar challenges as well as dyslexia across the board. Bill’s school is woefully underfunded for a variety of reasons that would take pages of text to explain. The teachers aren’t well paid yet they are constantly buying the supplies the children need that most pupils don’t need, such as pen grips and fiddle toys to aid concentration etc... I have been fundraising for a few years now and with your help have managed to help subsidise school trips, buy sensory room equipment, Occuoational Therapy equipment, out door tables and chairs, a trampoline... We have a lot to pay for this year as we really need a reliable mini bus but additional to that the school is moving premise and is taking on 20 extra pupils. This is all amazing news but means the pressure is on. This year I will be “Going For It” (though I will be mindful to not be a huge money grabbing nag). Every penny raised will be going to a gorgeous school that has given so many children a future they would not have been able to access.
Beautiful. I would leave it as it is with a small rib around the sleeve. With the rest of the yarn do a shawl with maybe cream in it.
I’ve decided on 3/4 length sleeves because I don’t think I’d wear it with my arms bare. Its really warm so I wouldn’t wear it on a warm day and I’ll need sleeves on a cooler day. A shawl would be lush!

Well done with all your fundraising. You are always such a joy to watch. My son and his wife have just been from Cornwall, the first time we have seen them this year. But we are the same as yourselves in that we cannot meet as a family again until whenever because my other son has two children and with myself that pushes us to seven as a whole family. So glad we did it this last week, as I am sure you are so happy to have seen Granny and Popa. Stay safe x.
I can understand that rules have to be put in place and o will stick to them but sometimes they feel a little unfair. My friend who lives alone will have 5 friends from separate households over for book group on Friday and that’s legal but we can’t have grandparents over even though that’s only 2 households. 😕

Hi, Poor Bill. My daughter (special needs) turns 21 on Wednesday and we’re in Lockdown 4 here in Victoria, Australia. I’ve had to order her gifts online and it’s been over 6 weeks and nothings arrived yet so 🤞🏻. She gets soo upset that she cannot even celebrate with family so it will be just the 2 of us. Love your skirt and Love Notes pullover. The yarn color is gorgeous! How about knitting a simple, pashmina-type shawl to match? Or The Turtle Dove boxy sweater by Espace Tricot? You are soo funny! Thanks for the giggles.
You may have a look at The Rain and Shine (by Chiaki Hayashi). It can be done in various weight and yarns ( cotton mix,paper,linen ,merino ....) . You may be double your yarn with mohair or else to fit the asked gage... Marilisa from the podcast « Girl Meets Yarns » was talking about it as a futur project for her Mum to knit in her last podcast ! I saw on her ravelry that she started one in july . Whatever pattern you will choose , I would suggest that you double this yarn with mohair or suri since you noticed that it is already starting to peel (?) . I’m french speaking originally , I may have misunderstood.... If it is easy to peel , the mohair “coating “ may protect it from doing so . Bravo ! for your very nice “Love Note “ sweater ! 👏💕

Hi Gayna , I really love your sleeveless sweater/ cardigan/ blouse that you had made. I think that it really looks great on you. We don't get to see you in to many short sleeve blouses. I think you could use the rest of the skeins to make a full sweater ,or cardigan.

Blasted Covid indeed! I missed my autistic grandson's birthday for the first time this year (he is six) and haven’t been able to travel to see him for many months. I hate it! I am so happy Bill's school will soon have its new bus!

I’ve recently started one and just finished the lace bit. Like you I didn’t bother with a provisional cast on. I’ve used a lace weight and mohair together in a mustard colour so fingers crossed it fits:)
In respect of the lace weight yarn that you have left, I’ve seen the Cheri Chevron Shawl knitted up in a lace weight yarn with a brown chevron / contrasting chevron in variagated coloured mohair which looked stunning.

Now then. Did Nanny Dot ever tell you the story of her visits to her Grandmothers in Higham Ferrers? Apparently this would be around 1930, no washing machine, only the Poss tub and a Dolly. Anyway when Your Great Grandmother Laura took her and Aunty Joyce to visit Nanny Dots grandmother would make her lift up her dress and her Grandmother would inspect her underwear! So maybe I will take a look at that hem one day!🤪😘
We’ve cancelled yet another trip to see my Grandsons because of COVID-19. We haven’t seen them for a year now because of health issues on both sides! When I made the Ogden Camo the first time the lining was too short on me too. Second time I lengthen by several inches!
The lining is meant to be a facing really but it’s a good idea to extend it if your fabric is sheer.
I love the color do your top and I love it just as it is. With no sleeve. Could you just finish off the edge as a sleeveless top? Of course it will be beautiful with an elbow length sleeve as well. The top is so pretty.

The Ogden cami does have a few fit issues because it has no darts. There is another one that has darts but I can’t remember the name of it - if I do I will come back and let you know. I will probably extend that facing when I make it next time x

That number of “6” is so arbitrary....what happens to a family that has 6 children (or more) + parents...what do they do send some of the children to live in the garden?!?! 😡 Just keep Granny and PaPa staying with you!
You can have a permanent household of as many people as you wish but otherwise you’re stuffed. It makes me so sad but we stick to the rules as they are there for the protection of everyone and they have to make the rule a simple one. I hate it though!
