I had left the inbuilt screen controller to one side and had only used it once as the lack of FCC mode really allowed for poor transmission.
Have tested this out now and it connects just like your link explains 👌
Now just have to wait for a calmer day to test it out flying, but thanks again 👍
I just want to leave a comment on this FANTASTIC combination of the FCC DJI Fly version and the Battery PLUS. I have a Mini 4 PRO with a DJI RC2. I reached a distance of 4 km with NO LOSS OF ONE bar on the signal power. I decided to return on myself just to be on the safe side, but I believe I could have reached 6 or 7 km…!!
I also reached mountains side areas I have never been able to reach before.
The « shadow » effect of a mountain or a building is not there anymore.
It is so safe to fly knowing you always stay in control.
I am really happy of my purchase and congratulations again for your work..!!

Thanks for sharing, I try and it works. But one thing that anybody using this methode should be aware. Once RC lost connection with aircraft, it will reset to CE mode again. So make sure that you set the RTH lost connection before you fly.

@@ramabudiman4222 iya. Signal FCC jauh lbh kuat dibanding versi CE, sehingga lbh kuat untuk menghadapi intervensi sinyal lain. Jarak terbang dalam kota bs 2-3 x lebih jauh.

I don’t see the difference between CE and FCC modes when you zoom in. What are the indicators of being in CE/FCC mode?

It’s because the frequency range used could interfere with other equipment using those frequencies. Sometimes the frequencies aren’t ins use but are reserved for future use. Every time a new mobile generation is launched, like 5G, it uses a different - or extended - frequency range, and the reason we lost analogue TV a few years back is because with everyone moving to digital, the analogue range was better used by other equipment - including (I think) mobile phones. It is annoying but it’s a general rule on any equipment that transmits over the airwaves - or might cause interference (electric motors etc).
Simply, I’m sure you understand simple, the licensing and control of the airwaves is more important than you.

When switching to fcc mode, is the setting saved even after restarting or do I need to repeat the procedure each time I turn on/flight?
It’s 38 euro for the app and a disclaimer that if DJI release a patch then you have no comeback, so you would need to be careful on updates from DJI

From what I understand this will not affect care refresh at all. Check out thebFAQs on the website but I’m sure it’s fine

The app doesn't work with my mini 4 pro and RC2 smartphone samsung note 8 android 9 it almost never manages to enter quick transfer and when it succeeds it remains in CE
On the mini 4 fcc mode takes away the 5.2 ghz frequency but its still worth it for the significantly higher transmission power

Greetings Gavin - I tried all the hacks way back when to try to get my Mavic Mini CE into FCC mode since Thailand's overpowered 2.4Ghz cell towers rendered the drone almost useless for cinematic filming from interference, i.e, jitter, lag, latency problems. And I thought FCC mode power output was a physical difference from the CE models, i.e., different, more powerful hardware. Has that changed with later models such that CE/FAA versions are really the same internally?

Hi my friend long time no speak! Yes the mavic mini mini / ce had different hardware this is correct, with the later models from mini 2 onwards the hardware is the same and the output is based on geo location :)

I live in Chiang Mai mate.
Never had an issue with tower signal interference, despite there being so many of them.
I've flown M2Z, Mini 2, Mini 3, even the RE goggles all worked fine.
Maybe the Mini CE is not great with nearby intefrence
@@jameskelly1781 'wah-dee krup -- Here in Roi Et city in the rural northeast, cell tower and/or home WIFI router interference is indeed horrible. It's not just my Mavic Mini, my previous non-DJI drones also suffered from it. If I get out of the city then range is OK, but inside the city I begin to get control/camera lag/latency problems when the drone is only 100-200 meters away from me. And the proliferation of new 5G cell towers seems to be exacerbating the problem. It's so bad I don't fly the Mini anymore, and that's a shame because it's been a fantastic little camera bird otherwise. I took it to the US last Fall for a long overdue family reunion and it didn't suffer the Thailand issues, but then again I didn't press my luck trying to fly it very far away. I may try to snag a Mini 2 SE soon and give it a try since prices have fallen so much on that old model.

Drone Tweaks app doesn't support support Android 14 which most newer phones from Samsung has and I'm doubtful it support the latest FW updates from DJI. Also seems very tedious to have to connect with the phone every single flight.
Sod that...... id prefer my smaller rcn1 and better phone screen with the fcc hack😊
Yep - I still prefer the RC-N1 setup as I made clear often but at least people now know that it can be used with the screen controller :)

Just to say folks, the app doesnt work yet on Android 14 - I purchased the app but it only stays open for several seconds before crashing and closes. Contacted the company and they confirmed they are currently working to get a fix for this
I've read that restarting the drone or controller or losing signal will reset the mode back to CE, so you have to do this procedure before every flight and every time you change the battery.

I found another site to do this. Cost a little more but then you have a permanent FCC patch on ur Rc 2. Did expect alot more range due to the antennas and occusync 4. Just gave me 600 meters extra than my Mini 3 pro FCC Rc controller

Looking at the right side of the transmission graph. If the top line is close the 1km marker - CE mode. If closer to the 4km mark - FCC mode.
I bought it and installed it.. I have a question because I think everything went OK, but is there anywhere in the controller menu where I can find the FCC icon confirming that the installation was successful and I am on the FCC website?
If you check the faq’s on the website it shows you depending on which operating system you are using :)

How do you connect with quick transfer.?
I struggled with that, you need to turn on wifi and bluetooth in the controller - and bluetooth in phone.

Yes it’s always worked with that controller and the RC-N1
This is very important got it from the producers site,
Important things to consider
if you have several drones, some with standard controllers and some with smart controllers, you can now use the same app for all of them
this is a very short procedure (~15 seconds) but it must be done before each flight
restarting the drone or controller will reset the mode back to CE
completely losing signal between drone and controller (no video, no telemetry and image goes black & white) will reset the mode back to CE
just tried this and on my rc pro i dont get the quick transfer mode coming up on the screen so not working, I had to uninstall my original dji fly app before i could install the fcc app and now i have to uninstall the fcc app before the genuine fly app will re install on my phone .WHAT A MESS !!!..My firmware for my controller is (03.02.0500) which is the latest for the controller and the aircraft firmware is 01.00.1200 Mavic 3 .So if you own a Mavic 3 with an RC Pro controller then you might be better going to the pub and spending the money on a few beers.The quick transfer mode works on official Dji fly app but not the fcc hack version .

I bought this app and it works perfectly on android 10. But doesn't work on s23 ultra with android 14. They are working on it.
How do you attach your phone to the DJI RC?
This still doesn't seem to be possible, because that requires Quick Transfer to open automatically on the smartphone after opening the FlyApp. I've never seen that anywhere and I don't know how that was possible in the video. Maybe someone can tell you how he managed it...
I guess everytime you have to swap batteries, as you have to switch off the drone, you will have to repeat the same procedure....

So for me, Quick Transfer has never started automatically on the FlyApp from my cell phone. And if you manually activate Quick Transfer by pressing the drone's power button three times, the RC controller immediately loses the connection. I wonder how this is supposed to work? Has anyone actually managed this with the RC controller?
I think its a new patched version but im not sure, I even asked the drone tweaks guy if it would work on all versions and he said yes to me and when i bought it found out it doesnt
There is a video explaining this, it's very simple, you'll need your phone, official dji app, FCC dji app and the RC2, it's a little bit of a fiddle the first time but it soon becomes second nature

Hi Gavin, I want to do this with my Mini 3 pro (DJI RC) but a bit confused what's being modified - is it just the transmission power of the remote itself (for controlling the drone) or the transmission power of the drone (i.e. video broadcast power so better visual reception on the remote)? Or both? Would be great for some clarity! Thanks :)
It's the broadcast power of the video and control link transmitter in the drone. It can handle more than the EU regs will allow it to.

Yeah 👍 the video I made linked in the description :) I tested this in June ish last year, it’s not new it’s been around for some time now it’s just now it works with the rc :)
@@GAVINHRI think it always worked like this but no one found the operation sequence to make it work until now.
And yes (sadly) this is a very easy fix for DJI, so if they want to stop it, they can (like they did for the free hack with the previous Android app).
On the other hand I’m pretty sure they can’t stop the tweak on RC-N2.
@@Avoletta-qs6nfnot accurate at all. Yes the Drone Hacks solution changes firmware setting in aircraft that can be blocked.
On the opposite Drone Tweaks doesn't. It's a software wrapper on DJI Fly app. DJI can't prevent that mechanism easily. It's a blessing 😂😂😂

Hi. I just bought the app and tried it there now on Mini 4 Pro with RC 2.
Everything went as planned and saw the expected change in the transmission graph.
Flew out about 600~700 meters and suddenly lost all connection. RTH kicked in and transmission graph went back to CE mode.
Tried again and got the exact same result.
Is anyone else having any problems with the mode resetting mid-flight?
Is the mode only resetting because the connection gets lost temporarily?
Any advice?
Somebody said if the connection drops it reverts in a comment previously, of course this is not my software I’m just showing its now. Possible, if you have any issues Florin at drone tweaks is usually very helpful
Yeah, I read that too and I get how that could be explained, but I'm not sure if there isn't an additional issue going on with this, but can't explain why it would drop so suddenly in an area where I can usually cover a much longer distance in regular CE mode.
Perhaps there's something to the observation that it seems to remove the 5.8 band when FCC mode is implemented and this would not be ideal in my urban environment.
I've already posted to the comments on the Drone Tweaks channel.
I'm not putting the solution down. I'm just trying to share my experience and add to the conversation on what could be a very useful application.

Absolute nightmare, I have lost my maps, no map display at all, the track follow mode has disappeared but yeh I can now fly 500 metres or more.... not happy at all!!!

@@GAVINHRDid not work. Not flying around Earth but FCC was not enabled for me. I followed all steps exactly as in the video. Posted also in their facebook group and now waiting. I suggest not purchasing this tweak yet until everything is sorted out because currently looks like hit and miss.

If I’m honest, I absolutely hate videos that are tutorials where they don’t speak and expect you to read everything on the screen in the amount of time it’s on. My eyesight is not good enough to do that. I do wish that people who produce these videos would actually narrate them, or at least get somebody else to narrate them if they don’t want their voice on it.
Yes that’s understandable, the instructions are also at the top of course and if needed you could pause, the maker is checking the comments so hopefully if needed they could guide you further.
use the pause video button to read text then play again when ready to move to the next instruction then pause .

I've seen, and tried, a way were a certain file is placed on the SD card. Better? It didn't get worse...
As I've experienced signal trouble it is the signal from the drone that goes low. No picture is received by the controller. Then turning the drone gives no feedback and navigation is hopeless. However the controller commands reach the drone.
Checking the Mini 3 pro the transmission picture is the same as the one shown here. Maybe FCC is in use?

Does not work... when using QuickTransfer, the RC controller will disconnect from the drone. Only the phone and the drone will have any connection. Another rip off
