Thank you for specifically saying "you can't go all the way to the ground as a beginner, that would be too much" that really helps us dummies figure this out! I thought I was doing it wrong because I couldn't go all the way to the ground

Yet again.. THANK YOU RYAN! Literally no other video on this specific exercise using the good old ab roller have warned everyone about “the spine”! Not all of us have the fitness level or youth that so many of these other trainers have and they simply plunge us into full on workouts and specific exercises. You mate thankfully don’t do this. I have a damaged spine due to severe abuse and must be mindful of my spine when doing literally anything, but especially when training. I love the way you’ve gently shown people how to begin literally regarding those little movements when first using the ab roller or after not training for years (like myself) and that it’s totally okay to simply get the feel for the roller and to focus on form. Small movements and gradually gaining more strength and perfecting your form.. specifically keeping the spine straight! 30’years ago I was totally into physical training, nutrition and planned to become a personal trainer but unfortunately “life” had other things planned for me and my plans went straight down the toilet, however this is how I know that you really do know what you’re talking about and with a terrific approach… explaining everything as you show everyone how and what to do from scratch. Your videos and you personally resonate with me and that’s rare 😂. 5 years ago my eldest daughter (who’s now 37) was doing some challenge at her gym (when I was out of action) and she had a so-called “expert” trainer who was engaging and training my daughter every morning. I happened to call in to observe this guy who she was raving about and what I witnessed disturbed me greatly. He was pushing her way too hard in particular with a specific weight exercise using a 10 kilo free weight. I tried warning my daughter that this particular technique and the weight itself was eventually going to cause damage to her spine. She was quite tall and slender/toned at that time and this moron became quite shitty with me and pretty much told me that I didn’t know what I was talking about and he was the expert. My daughter’s back did blow out and she had to cease the training and now after ongoing horrific pain she’s been informed that she must have major surgery on her spine. I know how this occurred and this is why I’m so impressed with your methodology Ryan. I live in the land down under, and wish that you were my personal trainer, but I intend to follow you on UA-cam coz can’t afford gym memberships and prefer to train at home in my own space in my own time, so thanks again mate and keep up the great work!

Abs will mostly be determined by body fat percentage. You can do all the ab exercises in the world and you still might never see your abs if you have a small layer of fat covering your stomach. Diet will have a bigger impact.
I'm 55-years old with a lower back injury. Now, it's 85% healed. It's strength it is as it is used to be 100% so I couldn't do any push-ups or carry any weights to keep me fit. I have been using the ab wheel for well over 40 years. I recently bought two ab wheels that look like dumb bells. I use them to work my chest. Instead of your arms going in front, I go to the sides like doing inverted flies. I have become strong enough to do them from my feet. The wheel is one of the best pieces of equipment you could have and something you can take with you wherever you go. Start very slow at first. The wheel can create debilitating soreness in the beginning. I'm 82 and use the wheel about every 5 days.
Hi Ryan, love that you featured the underrated ab wheeler. I think it fits perfectly with your philosophy of frugal, no gimmicks, genuine strength building. I really enjoy your channel. Keep up the great work.

Here’s the thing. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxS7ex6L4sMqpaTn4LnBPyBmRQsSingL8y These are not meant to be stretched to 12ft or 14ft or whatever else where you’re a 6ft person, stepping in the band and trying to do standing shoulder presses. If they tear, (assuming they’re not defective) then you’re trying to stretch them way too far. For a full body stretch, bands should be like three feet long, doubled over. Don’t buy the bad press. At last it showed mercy. But not until it had made sure that Quasimodo himself would avert his gaze in disgust had he seen me. Time for a re-match. Demon wheel.. But seriously. Thanks for the video. should i get one with elbo support? I have one year of x4 sets of planks 1.5 min each and x4 (25 each) sets of rolling out exersize balls simular to wheel but easier. i have lower degen disc
how long should someone practice with the roller in one session? Go till tired? should I do at the end of a work out? probably basic questions but thank you anyways.

Good thing I already had finished my workout because as I'm pretty sure I broke some laws of physics inventing ways to inflict pain on the human body I swear I heard it laughing at me while I desperately tried to get the demon-wheel to kill me fast or let go of the tangled mess of agony on the floor. At last it showed mercy. But not until it had made sure that Quasimodo himself would avert his gaze in disgust had he seen me.
Time for a re-match. Demon wheel..
But seriously. Thanks for the video. I'm sure it will help me a lot!
Lol I laughed at this.. «demon wheel» 🤣
Watched 4 vids none helped but yours did
Thanks for sharing
You bet! Hope it was helpful 👍
Heheheh the cat leaving in the little cat door is so cute
Excellent video, just what I needed for a beginners vid, many thanks
It's the cat going through the cat door for me 😊 Awesome tips 😉
any suggestion on how to use a ab roller on hardwood floors? is this also good for losing weight and belly fat?
You helped me learn how to use this ab wheel I just bought......much thanks
Thanks for your videos, mate. As of today, thanks in part to you, I am minus the gym, and working out at home saving time and money. I'm down from 120kgs to 80kg also doing the same intermittent fasting pattern that you do ... which is what made your channel stand out from other calisthenics channels for me.
Jeremy Davies awesome to hear! And thanks for the kudos :) That's some incredible weight loss, man. Keep it up! 💪
1:43 is crazy
1+1=2 is absolutely crazier
Very professional explained. Thank you so much !!!
This is one of the best videos ive seen on the ab wheel .thanks
Those of us who are beginners and have more than a little extra around the gut, are their any additional nuggets of advice? Particularly for building strength in the shoulders and arms?
You rock ❤🎉🙌💪
Good I just started and this is the most well explained video.
should i get one with elbo support? I have one year of x4 sets of planks 1.5 min each and x4 (25 each) sets of rolling out exersize balls simular to wheel but easier. i have lower degen disc
how long should someone practice with the roller in one session? Go till tired? should I do at the end of a work out? probably basic questions but thank you anyways.
James excellent explanation.. we love you
Thank you. A practical guide without too much technical stuff.
Can’t do the latch stretch as well. Try to touch my heal with my but, I can’t go down that far wondering if I have to keep doing it daily to see improvement or if I might have to try other exercises for better results
Great video, love the cat too!
thank u. Easy af, but needs stamina. And it works only like that.
0:26 *I loved it*
The cat was the funny part!😆
dude, should have watched this before i tried it
yesterday i just went full range on it on my first run and my stomach still hurts... should have worked up to it to start off with
Great video, and I liked the part where the cat did yoga with you haha
Hi doctor! While doing the exercise, what breathing pattern is to be followed?
I love that your cat ends up in the video also.
Since watching your workout in this room, I've been wondering about who comes & goes thru that door slat. Mystery solved at 4:06: Hello Kitty ! Thanks, Ryan !
Thanks, brother!
Just bought an ab wheel and the perfect pushups. Watching this video out of paranoia so I don't do it wrong and ruin my lower back. 😂
You get any progress now?
What would be a good routine for this? Daily? Every other day? How many sets reps etc? Thanks bro
Thank you so much brother much love and may you be blessed
