My name is Lucy, I'm a 25-year-old girl from the Netherlands, and I'm here to offer an alternative approach to beauty.
On this channel I do mostly hair tutorials where I show you how to braid, pin and style your own hair. I recreate hairstyles from movies & tv shows and I regularly come up with my own, which I love to share with you!
I do lifestyle and beauty videos as well, ranging from wearable everyday looks, makeup tips and DIY natural beauty treatments, to fashion lookbooks, vegetarian recipes and more extreme Halloween tutorials.
If you enjoy history, you've come to the right place as well. I have a few series based on historical makeup and hairstyling that are my little passion projects.
Enjoy browsing!
Love,
Lucy

Hmm I never thought about protecting my hair from the cold but this does makes sense!
Thank you for sharing this beautiful, yet simple to make, protective hairstyles!
As someone who does ice skating and spends a lot of time on the ice rink (plus the freezing snowing weather outside) I can’t thank you enough! Thanks!
I've been using these tips for my hair this winter and what a difference it had made. Thanks ♡
My ex boyfriend came with me to my work the other day and he randomly asked if there were hairdressers for women in the 1800s, and I said I don’t know, Google it and let me know what you find. The first thing he did was play a video. I heard it and said, “Is that Loepsie?” And he said “Who is Loepsie and how do you know who she is?” lol ... he is 50 ... it was funny for some reason :P
Haha! Hairdressing as a profession started booming in the 1700's, and never went away. So yes, there were 😊
Hi Lucy! Can you please do a second video of protective hairstyles? I loved this one so much
Easy, cute , simple 😍😘
I'm not even sure why I watch your hair tutorials, I have a pixie crop for hecks sake, but I still love these videos... I live in hope that my daughter might one day sit still long enough for me to try some of these on her! lol
I love these hairstyles!! I’ve been looking for different ways to style my hair because it has to be up for my career and these styles are so cute! I wore the first one and I got many compliments on it. I would love to see more videos of cute braided updos like these !!
I'm glad you put up this video. I've been having to do a lot of protective styles lately because it's cold, dry, sometimes windy and my coat and scarf dry my hair out too. I haven't tried these ones yet and like finding new ones to change up my hair routines. Thank you.
This is exactly what I've been looking for omg thank you I adore your hair videos
Ty for this! FINALLY someone making a video of this! Youre always amazing and create content im desperately needing right at the appropriate time, ty!!! Could you do some more examples of protective winter hairstyles? Or maybe a compilation of videos that would work, or point me to a playlist of this if you have one, that would be great!! Ty!! 😁😁😁 u rock!
Love this first hairstyle!
SO LOVELY AND SIMPLE...💓
Hello every time I m making your... hair style .....thank you for teach
This was helpful and perfectly timed. Thank you :)
thanks Loepsie
The last is super cute and simple I will do when is long enough 😊
I loved the last hairstyle it’s so easy to do and looks so cute :)
you always have the cutest hair styles
Great. I'm trying them
cute! thank you!!
beautifull i love it
Thank you 🙂
It's so good
Mine is too short for these now, so my go-to is either two French rope braids and the ends tucked under each other, or a Katniss braid and the end folded back and pinned.
Thankyou...
Very nice
cute , simple 😍😘
thanks! here in canada i need things like this for practically half of the year
I'm a Canadian too and I would say 2/3
How would you do this on long think hair?
Your hair colour is osm
I love the last one! Now I have to challenge myself to make these work with waist length hair! ^_^
These hairstyles are actually designed for long hair! I'll bet you'll like them :)
I didn't know I needed this video until now! :) The thing about the hair and the backpack straps was extremely dangerous for me! I ended up cutting my hair shorter because of it. Mostly it would wrap around my neck and get stuck under the strap. That's why it was a danger. :(
Would you ever do a styling video about how to style in extreme cold? The winter weather fluctuates where I live, but we also get cold wind that just cuts and makes the cold weather even worse. :( I end up wearing five layers on a daily basis and it's very annoying. :((
Can these work on fine hair
Niceeee
Oh, what a shame I don't have longer hair anymore. I really want to try the first one, it is so cute!
I have a lot (really a lot!) of flyaways roughly as long as long as where the elastic of a ponytail sits. So I am guessing they are damaged by the elastic (I already use the spirally ones). Any hairstyles that keep the hair up and don't put stress on those short hairs?
I usually do a french braid, but that gets messy throughout the day because of all the short hairs. I work as a nurse, so hair needs to be up and away.
Same here.
try cloth hairties or scrunchies rather than elastics. Curly or wavy hair isn't slippery like straight hair, so tight elastics do more harm than good. Or avoid hairties altogether by making a braided bun, which only needs pins since the coiled-up braid can't unravel. For serious control on fine hair, I recommend a hairnet. They come either in fine mesh invisible kinds or as brightly colored crocheted caps. You can get them small, so they just go over a bun, or large enough to cover your entire head (in which case it's also called a "snood").
Long-term, address the problem by keeping your hair moisturized. Try using a leave-in conditioner after you shower, and wear a scarf for a few hours afterwards to make sure it soaks in. Using a diffuser on your hairdryer is also helpful.
Sophie Jones Thank you for all the tips! my hair is fine and straight, so I do need a tight hairtie (scrunchies just fall out). Braided bun sounds great, I sometimes bun a frenchbraid. I only air dry my hair, but using conditioner more often (and not only putting it on the ends down at the very end) might be a good idea.
@@odsmey yes! Ideally conditioner should be applied all over the head. Instead of using more while you're in the shower though: try using the normal amount in the shower and then applying another coat to your wet hair after you've stepped out. You need to give your hair time to fully absorb the product, and there's no telling how long that will take for your hair. If you find using two applications of conditioner weighs down your hair too much: a mousse or a serum is an alternative. Making sure to use lotion on your skin frequently also helps your hair stay moisturized and healthy: because your hair comes out of your skin. good luck!
Thank you, hair queen! Do you happen to know any ways to 'straighten' your hair without heat? My natural hair is so floofy and flyaway and I hate it but I'm trying to limit the amount of heat styling I do. :)
I don't know if it works for other people, but if I put my damp hair into 2 fishtail braids with VERY small sections it dries really straight compared to how my hair normally dries (lots of waves with a good amount of loose curls). For frizz smoothing, I like to use either l'oreal curl taming cream or this coconut heat protectant spray (sprayed into my hands and used sparingly) from the brand Silk Elements I got for free at Sally beauty supply. If you prefer your products "cone-free," look for recommendations online for smoothing creams or curl creams, or use a very small amount of oil spread on the hands and used sparingly like I use the heat protectant spray. I use either product when my hair is about 3/4 dry for best results.
Maybe your hair is actually wavy or curly and you were not aware of it before. Brushing out wavy hair makes it really floofy normally. Straight hair is only like that when it is extremely damaged. Try to look into hair care for wavy textures.
You could "wrap" it. There are videos on youtube! Just type wrapping for straight hair and you should get results.
It's all about blow drying. What killed all the frizz on my head was blow drying it with a roundbrush images.app.goo.gl/SAixriJiLrcq3NAq8 like this
I love these hairstyles.... but my hair is too long and too thick for them :(
You should use a slowly or relaxing music for the background
Please do a hair tutorial for bald men next!
Very cute!!! Picturing a shoulder or chin length bob as a next hair for Loopsie. Would be SOOOO cute on her with her round glasses she always wears!!!! Todays updo’s were adorable though.
I looked through your videos and I say a lot historic hairstyle recreations. Can you try ‘girl with a pearl earring’ the Dutch painting by Vermeer please? I think you would enjoy researching that
What hairstyle would that be, exactly? Her hair is covered entirely by scarves.
I came just to give a like cause the hairstyles are so beautiful 😍 my hair is type 4 so I don't think it would work
Does Loepsie remind to anyone else of Moaning Myrtle???? Especially with the 2 braids style. Potterheads show up.
You're super cute!
Jet v,nix
I have a question about your name. Is it Loepsie or Lucy?
lefty It’s Lucy. Loepsie is a nickname she was given
These are good ideas but I don't think they'll work for me because I literally have about 5x as much hair as you 😂 no joke! Especially at the ends because my layers are so long so it's pretty much just as thick at the bottom
Really like your video and you look amazing, you are beautiful inside and out don't let anyone bring you down, I have a UA-cam channel Rekha Chadha Author, I write fiction fantasy children books 🙃🌟🌟🌟🌟
It is to good but .,......
Nice.. but hair not comb properly
Some people don't like to comb their hair when it is dry :) It gives me split ends so I only comb in the shower now.
I have really long thats below my waist, but I never get breakage in the winter. I don't see why snow THAT IS WATER would damage your hair. I MEAN A COAT DAMAGES YOUR HAIR!!?? I NEVER GET BREAKAGE DURING WINTER. JUST REMEMBER THIS IS COMING FROM A GURU NOT A PROFFESIONAL HAIR DRESSER.
the cold snow burns your hair
