I really appreciate your content, please keep up the great work. I saw you roll by today at 11:08AM central time here in the great state of Texas.
One thing I want to share with you and I believe you’ll agree 100%… I believe American motorcyclists have been duped into the concept of bigger, better & faster motorcycles…. (not to mention insanely expensive). 98% of those ridders can’t even begin to take advantage of all the capabilities of the motorcycles they are riding… I believe this is killing the fun factor, the wonder & the enjoyment of riding a motorcycle. The most fun I ever had on a motorcycle, was on my 1984 Yamaha XT 125 and my (under powered, according to current, at the time, motorcycle magazines) 1990 ninja 600R.
Let’s stop being so insecure about having to have the biggest, most powerful & most expensive motorcycle that we can buy…!
Let just buy something that we can truly handle…. People will discover that they will be much happier riding a motorcycle.

When you see the Meteor 350 sitting in the driveway you would be hard pressed to tell that bike only has a 350cc motor in it. Like I have said many of time on Ol' Man Ronin's vids that his Meteor 350 with the mods he has done and the choice in saddle bags just makes this bike look so good. I'm not even a brown fan and just really like his overall look and setup of his bike. Like always nicely done. The other thing I notice it seems like you have some great rural areas and roads to ride on in that area that are just a perfect fit for the Meteor 350 and Himilayan.

G'day Ronin from Australia, well done on a year with the Royal Enfield, it's a shame you lost your ride footage that ride would have been interesting to watch, that's Murphy's Law if it can stuff up it will, I'm amazed how similar the types of roads are to here, yes the plants are different but the distance travelled between points are the same wide open ridable space, coming up 1 year for my Interceptor and it's been a blast having that bike, cheers to you and your family, Neil 🤠.

I am just over a month into owning the Stellar Blue Meteor and I'm loving it. Overall the bike feels like the bike is well engineered and has a quality feel to it, all except the gear lever and linkages, which are just the shonkiest things I've ever seen. They must have given the design of that to the apprentice. When I got the bike they had set the lever too low and I couldn't get my foot under the gear lever to change up. I was forced to use the heel change, which I don't like. When I got home I moved it around two notches on the splined shaft and that resulted in the linkage rod fouling on the foot peg so I couldn't engage second or higher. I backed it off one notch and now it works. So there's only one position where the lever works properly. Fortunately Tec Bike Parts UK (they have a US site too) have done a redesign that has the linkage above the foot peg. I'm waiting for that to arrive.
I have also ordered a rev counter and I'm going to junk the tripper. I'm never going to use it. I have an android app that is much better if I need directions. Why they didn't put a rev counter on as standard is a mystery. All my bikes since 1980 have had a rev counter, even the cruisers.

I have owned my meteor for 9 months and it is my daily ride and I love it for what it is. I have owned other small bikes over the years and this is the first one that I haven’t had an issue with even the tyres I will wear out before I change them. Yes you have to accept the limited top speed but as long as you don’t want to do a lot of motorway miles it is fine. I couldn’t be happier with it a cheap fun to ride bike.

Once again a very entertaining & informative video.
I actually had a 350 Meteor before the Himalaya I replaced it with, everything you said about it is true, but I exchanged it 3 months later simply because it wasn't fast enough.
Now don't let me give the wrong impression, I'm 73 years old with years of experience behind me, I started out on little BSA's, 175cc Bantams, & yes - I've had super fast bikes in between, but not now, the need for speed has mainly left me. The Meteor was everything you said it was, comfortable, easy to maintain, (not that I needed to do much of that in 3 months!), the only other thing I couldn't live with was that damn gear change, some people call it Rock'n'Roll, more like Rap to me & I hate rap!
Ok, seeing the kinds of roads you ride on, I can understand the laid back approach, in it's element very suitable,& I also 100% agree with you on high tech on bikes - so much to go wrong & so expensive to fix.
Keep them coming, Ol' Man, your vids make my day.

My next mod will be to either find better front springs, or add slugs to get a little more preload, since with my size, (270 pounds) I'm riding "double." 😄 It's been a great bike to downsize to after retirement. This Meteor might be considered a "cruiser" in India, but it's really a standard bike with the pegs moved a little forward. I like the Meteor's neutral riding position, classic looks, its simplicity and sound. I have never really considered buying something as small as a 350cc until now, as a "returning rider."

Shared your video with a friend who’s just starting out riding at mid 50s. So many of people I know go from Moped to 1200cc monster. The 350 is a step up from his 250 Honda he has and don’t think he’s enjoying riding because it’s a poor bike for a full grown man. Thanks

He told me how happy you were with your bikes. I liked the roads you ride. I see why you like the RE bikes. Slow speeds and plenty of of adulation. Free way speeds aren't their forte'. With you the technology. Okay 60-65 speeds two up. I am impressed. Sorry I brought the rain from Australia when I came there. Back in OZ now. I was there Labor Day. stay up wright have fun C-U.

Almost all the accessories are from India which is great for us in the US market. It's so cheap and the materials are usually old world good. But it's probably bad for those in the Indian Market. Saw a guy on a video asking for Long Ride to sell on Amazon so he can buy $500 saddlebags. That would be very expensive in India.

This bike reminds me a lot of older Harley Davidsons.
A relaxed riding bike, low cost, easy maintenance, small cc, low seat height, looks good, great fuel economy and range thanks to it's large fuel tank.
Probably my next commuting bike, I only do country roads.
I was looking at the Rebel but the gauge cluster isn't the best, the 300 doesn't sound good at all. The Meteor and Hunter sound great, proper thumper 😊

If you really like the Meteor but want more power, I suggest you wait just a little longer. Royal Enfield should announce the "super meteor" anytime soon. It should be the meteor with the 650 engine from the interceptor.
      I'm on the fence too.
As the super meteor should be heavier, I'm not sure it will feel as "light" as the normal meteor.

That me chuckle. I've ridden Bilbao to Malaga on a bicycle, l've also done it on a Suzuki 125cc VanVan which was immeasurably easier. A 350cc Meteor would be like a super charged rocket in comparison! It's all relative, what l do know is that the slower you go the more things you see & the more people you meet.
I used to tour on a Kawasaki Gtr1000 and now realise what a waste of life that was.
Why wait for a bigger Meteor? It's only going to go faster & consume more fuel, is that "better" on a tour?

It is the perfect frame and (beautifull) simple enginedesign for making a custom cruiser, BUT there is nothing that needs to be changed on it! It is so odd that a cheap little bike like this just hits all the right spots in design 😂 But it does it is just spot on, and one of the first bikes Ive seen where I cant see a single thing I would change cosmetically.
