Great ride and description thanks for sharing 👍 The bike did really well, mine has a lot of hills to climb in (Old) South Wales. Love the views, we used to have lots of 3 lane 'suicide roads' but they've got rid of most of them now, too many accidents in the shared middle lane!
Picking up my new Meteor next week and doing a central North Island run so will get to discover how well it goes up hills and around twisty roads. Should be awesome fun.
I've heard the RE CEO say that in an interview. He said he likes to travel and when he tours on a motorcycle he likes to be able to appreciate the scenery.
You wanna get up that hill a bit easier try Hitchcock's cam. Just installed it on my Classic and boy did it make a big difference. 5 hp (33%) more at the wheel. DNA Stg 2 filter, FuelX Lite piggyback, Hitchcock's decat pipe and cam. Couldn't recommend it enough. Cheers from California 🏖

@@BenDevery its too good on highways. Not very gud on bumpy roads. Rear suspension is not tht gud. Sends everything directly to my tail bone. It's a very good bike on good roads. And it feels like it has a soul. Feels super special riding it. Makes me happy thinking I am riding it. So satisfied.
I have had one for two years. It is enough power for one person, and more than enough for city cruising and commuting. But it definitely struggles with hill highways, especially with two people and luggage. I have made some 2 hour trips with my girlfriend, many times i wished it had more power and gets uncomfortable after like the first hour. I'm moving on to a super meteor 650 with a touring seat. My Little meteor 350 gave me great times.
@@BenDevery I have for the moment only watched reviews, and they all talk great things about the super meteor. I went to a royal Enfield store and sat on one, it feels great, so I ordered one. They told me it could take up to three months to arrive, it seems interstellar green is the color that takes the longest. I'll tell you when it arrives.
so this view point is seconded by some of the touring companies in the leh ladakh region where RE's regularly are used to climb the steep hills.. they say if you have a passenger.. its best to take the himalayan or a 500 cc RE.. if alone.. then the 350 cc is enough..
Great question here. Cruises around nicely in town between 3rd and 4th. Going up this hill I was cycling up and down between 4th and 5th. 3rd if you need power to pass under 60-70.
It’s a nice bike I reckon it would be perfect with a 450 engine in it ,I think it would sell like hoy cakes may be. Some day RE might do that jimmy Aust
@@BenDevery all smooth sailing, never had any issues with it. Still on all the stock parts (front tyre due soon). Its used in all weathers and very rarely gets cleaned but shows no signs of corrosion etc. I had the new super cub 125 and put 17,000 on it, I actually think the build quality is worse on the Honda. Royal Enfield have really upped the game considering the price
Thinking hard about going from a Honda CTX 700 to the Meteor 350. Hill climbing is an issue. I'm 6'2", 275 lbs - in other words, a load. What's your weight and height - it will help me evaluate if this one lunger is great for those 175lbs, or can it handle someone like me?
Hey Mark, honestly you will miss the power! I rode a Honda 500x last week and it’s a lot more powerful than the Meteor 350. I weigh 90kgs and am 172cm high. Hope that helps!
Kiaora! How did you think the 350 Meteor did climbing the Kaimai Ranges? Elevation: 953 m (3,127 ft)
You look like Rahul Gandhi
True😂😂
I had no idea who that is, googled it, and I think you are right haha 😂
@BenDevery-Where lol 😂😂great content btw
Wtf 😂😂
I was about to type the same. 😅

These Royal Enfields regularly make the climbs to Ladakh's highest passes, most exceeding 14000+ ft.

Looks fast enough for me, gives you time to enjoy that beautiful scenery and the road.

I bet you it is a value for money product. I have stellar black and cruising is top notch. Initial pick up is also commendable.
