    Love the design. You gave me an idea: as a gift to my brother and his family, scale up even more until it's a chair that makes adults feel like kids when they sit in it. 👍

    i built two of these for my grandchildren. thank you very much for the design. the boys like them (i think).
    i have a few comments if you are interested.
    small children who clamber onto a chair can tip these over. i screwed two strips of wood to the bottom the the legs to try to counteract this.
    i used a track saw to cut the straight edges.
    having the templates spaced just a tiny bit further apart would have helped in the cutting.
    indicating on the front legs where they meet the side would have helped in the construction.
    i cut the back by attaching two clamps at 30cm? from the armrests on the assembled chair.
    then i bent a flexible steel rule between them.
    then i marked the line with a pencil and disassembled the back and cut the seven pieces with a jigsaw.
    once again, thank you for the video and the plans.

    Many thanks for the plans!....worked great. That said, there was some minor tweaking with - the upper back & lower back templates + the sitting piece template didnt reach the sides, yet they were cut to the dimensions of the paper template...so I re-cut new ones to the dimensions needed. Also 9 seat slats not 6, and I must have lost the 2 front leg supports....but eventually I have it all together....looks great

    It seems you are often using an angle grinder on the sharp ends of screws. Have you ever considered just purchasing screws the right length so they don't poke out the other side? Just a suggestion. Love watching your videos

    • @wyssmaster
      @wyssmaster Рік тому

      Glue tends to fail on pieces with cross grain construction, so there's no reason to use it. There's also the issue of using glue with outdoor furniture (I can't remember James Wright's results, but he's had an experiment running for a couple years now about exterior wood glue usage).
      I'm assuming he's using an outdoor/UV resistant poly or spar urethane, but who knows. My guess is he's not too concerned with kid projects lasting too much longer past that part of their childhood
