2022 Draft was an all-timer for the Chiefs. 7/10 becoming starters including multiple 7th round hits is insane

Trent Mcduffy gave Debo Samuel the blues in the Super Bowl. That Chiefs draft was insane, even their bust (skymoore) contributed to their 3rd super bowl run.
I love your assessment on Trent McDuffie as a KC fan. People will look at his 0 INT's and be floored than he is an all-pro, and an A+ pick according to you. What they don't take into account is he does everything else, and when in pass coverage, he blankets his man so well that QBs rarely think to throw his way. McDuffie is 100% an A+ pick and will be a great defender for the Chiefs for years to come.
Same reason why Deion never lead the league in picks. Hard to intercept a pass when none ever get thrown your way.
0 INTs largely because most games he's so lock down that the QB doesn't throw the ball anywhere near him

This video is depressing it reminds me of all the players we could’ve drafted at 20 but instead we drafted Kenny Pickett.
The Steelers drafted 2 quarterbacks in 2022. Neither of them were Brock Purdy.
@@riseofthesugars5312Purdy is a product of his environment. He would have been trash in our system and pretty much any other system.
The steelers also have had a shit line wide receivers that cant catch. Not every quarterback can just step in and be the top. Purdy benefits from a great offensive coach who is designing the offense around him

How Hamilton and Lindebaum both fell so much in this draft is insane. Baltimore fleeced anyone that wasn't Kansas, since Kansas fleeced everyone else with McDuffie and Karlaftis. Those two organisations sure know how to draft.
Not only that, but Baltimore traded back with the Bills from 23 to 25 and picked up punter Jordan Stout. If Baltimore wins the superbowl this year, it will be because of this draft

Tyler Linderbaum - All Star
David Ojabo - injured both years hope this is his year
Travis Jones - A beast in the middle line
Danniel Faalele - A huge (maybe starting) tackle
Charlie Kolar - A TE that would start with 80% of teams
Jalyn Armour-Davis - Injured both years, hope this is his year
Jordan Stout - above average punter
Isaiah Likely - will be a top 10 TE this year
Damarion Williams - Ravens have alot of DBs this year. He will have to fight for a job.
Rams last couple drafts , especially last year, have been great with no first round pick.
The Rams have only one first round starter on D and O (Donald and Stafford).
Snead and McVay have done an amazing job finding talent.

Rams last year low key aced it and with all the alternates who make the pro bowl I’d have liked turner and young to make it, them and avila and puka with evans have been a great draft class.

@@Bananasinpajams I don’t see Sanders going in the first, but he would be an awesome replacement for Kelce. I see a lot of Kittle in Sanders. Great blocker and physical pass catcher who’s a nice route runner for a TE. I’d love him in the 2nd, but he probably doesn’t drop that far. I’d like us to get Guyton, Fautanu, or Murphy (DT) in round 1. I think we go OT then either DT or WR round 2, unless sanders is there round 2 then I’m all for it. I just think tackle is more necessary. Although I do feel good about Wanya Morris at tackle moving forward, so maybe we do reach at a future guy like sanders. Wouldn’t be upset with a WR either if it’s the right guy but I feel like we can get one in round 2

Mahomes needs a great security blanket and at the 32nd pick all the top WR prospects will be gone..... so you have to go either a second tier WR2 type like B Rice or X Leggett or you go dynamic TE
You have to think, we picked CEH at this position the first year we won the SB so a TE wouldn't be out of the picture and the pick is technically a second round pick anyhow
I think if we sign Jones to a 3yr we don't go line until pick 3 or 4
@@Bananasinpajams If we sign Jones to a 3 year I agree DT isn’t a priority unless some stud falls and it becomes a no brainer. Guys like Coleman, Franklin, McConkey, Mitchell will all be there at the end of the 1st likely, or at least 2 of them will which I wouldn’t mind. Really depends how we feel about Wanya. If he’s the guy of the future, then go WR or if they love JT trade back to around 40 and take him there & get another 5th rounder to swing on an upside guy. Tons of WR talent even in the 3rd and 4th so u may be right, a Kelce replacement would be great and as an OU fan who plays Texas every year I’ve seen just how great sanders is. Wouldn’t be upset at that at all. If we went Sanders, then Tez Walker/Legette (not a fan of B Rice personally), then a DT or high potential OT in round 3 I’d be thrilled. Sanders has Kittle written all over him imo, I’m all for it.

It's pretty insane that Christian Benford in the same draft class as Kaiir Elam. Elam was a first round pick to Benford being taken in the 6th round and well Benfords career is what us Bills fans had hoped Elam would already be as he's already the best CB on the team and has potential to be an all pro. And Kaiir Elam is so far been one of the Bills biggest bust in recent memory
And the cb that the Bills actually wanted in the first round was Trent McDuffie but the Chiefs traded in front of them. Imagine McDuffie and Benford playing together.
Benford made the Elam pick sting a lot less.

Not great but shown potential at times. He sucked early this year but then went on IR with a foot/ankle injury he allegedly had all throughout camp.
Mcduffie is great but iirc he's a slot corner and we already had a top tier one in Taron Johnson

That is not what happened at all. He traded out of picking Jameson Williams and picked Cine, Booth, Ingram and Asamoah. He also took a pick off the Lions (32, 34 & 66 for 12 and 46) and a pick off the Packers (34 for 53 and 59). You should have a look at how much better the Lions and Packers would be if the just stayed and picked at those spots.

Pickett is a hard F. It was a reach at the time and he has only been dissapointing. Kid misses reads and bails on plays while patting the ball 2-3 times per dropback, and even the mobility/scrambling he showed in college hasnt translated to the NFL. Not to mention guys like Linderbaum, McDuffie, and Walker going in the next couple of picks all at positions of need for Pittsburgh. Terrible, franchise-altering setback of a pick by the Steelers. And fans/coaches wanting to waste another year giving him another chance makes it even worse.

I think an F should be reserved for players who never start or are cut. Kenny may not be a world beater but he won a lot of games (14-11 record) with 6 fourth quarter comebacks. I give him a C because he was a serviceable starter and still has potential heading into next year. You're a dumbass if you think every first round QB turns into Mahomes immediately. Most bust because of the pressure of playing the hardest position. If you're actually a Steelers fan I feel bad for you that you have no team pride or think we should've been starting Trubisky instead 😂

Yooo....Thank you so much for putting this together. It is a refreshing endeavor, especially when considering how absurd it is to grade a draft the day after it is completed! I hate draft day grades, and EVERYONE has them and an opinion on every team...actually grading the team on what they came away with before any of these guys ever played a game. This needs to be the NEW NORM!!!!
Hahaha for a split second I was furious about that A on The Duff Man. Got me. Dude's the best player on the Chiefs defense, and the most versatile. He's so damn good man. Chris gets all the love and he's insane but he's lost his motor a bit lately and only really dominates in big situations. Duffy is out there shutting down the passing game 24/7 in every way imaginable.

Fair assessment of Dax Hill. I thought it was fairly obvious he might not be as good as they hoped he would when rookie Jordan Battle became a starter alongside him half way through the season and immediately made more of an impact than Hill. It was always going to be a stretch replacing Jessie Bates though.
I’m excited to see how that young secondary develops for the Bengals. Cam Taylor-Britt already looks like a star. Hopefully Dax Hill, DJ Turner, and Jordan Battle take strides this year

LOL! You had me going for a half second there when you pretended to give McDuffie an A instead of A+. I had just enough time to yell, "What???!!!" before you said you were kidding. Chiefs don't win Super Bowl LVIII without him. Hell, they maybe don't even make the playoffs without him. Actually, the entire 2022 draft was probably the best overall I can remember the Chiefs having other than 2017. Chiefs could have pulled a Ditka and traded their entire draft class to move up for Mahomes and with what he has done for the team would still make that their best draft ever.

This is such a surreal thing to watch. Hitting on two great players in one draft and to know each draft has been productive under Veach almost each time. I get excited and almost embarrassed that we are fortunate to have these guys on our team. If it were to end after this season there will be happy KC fans for several generations.
I literally said that the Kenny pick was bad and all the other Steelers fans went tunnel vision. There’s a reason why there was no actual qbs projected in the first round. Having back to back single figure TDs AND more picks than ints both seasons. His peak was 2022 when he led the game winning drive to beat the ravens in Pittsburgh on the SNF game

George Karlaftis should've never fallen out of the top 10. I was pounding the table for the Giants to take him at 7 even for the twelve minutes between drafting Kayvon Thibodeaux and Evan Neal.
To be fair, Kayvon was considered a top 2 pass rusher at the time, Karlaftis was known for his insane endurance and high motor
@@3rdandForever868 I liked Karlaftis more than Thibodeaux and didn't want Thibodeaux but even with the glaring need at tackle and wide receiver I still thought it was a better idea to double dip than to let Karlaftis fall. He's genuinely just so good.
Dax Hill at a C+ is crazy to me he's an absolute freak and is coming off his first year starting at a really difficult position
A lot of Cowboy fans wanted Linderbaum, and didn't know that Tyler Smith had quietly risen to solid later-half-of-the-first-round territory. With Linderbaum so far having fulfilled every expectation, it's a good thing that Dallas went with an alternative smashing success so far at OL. Both the Cowboys and Ravens have to be very happy with their selections (and Dallas would have been up ****'s creek without Smith in 2022).
The difference between the Chiefs jumping ahead and taking Mcduffie versus the Bills taking Elam may have been worth a Super Bowl. The Bills said they did have their eyes on Mcduffie.

I don’t want Kenny to be our future starter, but you undersold how much Canada was holding us back. Saying he didn’t effect Kenny’s completion percentage isn’t true Canada couldn’t call any plays with open receivers

Sucks about Kaiir. We likely would've gotten McDuffie had the Chiefs not jumped us in the draft. I think this offseason is the chance for Kaiir to work and prove himself - I like him a lot and he himself knows that he can do better. Maybe with the new DB coach, Elam can become a good/great depth piece.

He literally says in the vid that he’s very athletic and all and makes good plays, but he had a lot of times that he blew big plays. He gave up a lot of big stuff this year

Numbers don't tell the whole story, especially on defense.
Didn’t watch after seeing Pickett as an F??? Dude is 13-4 in his last 17 starts finished. In addition, the 3 games he missed the end due to injury the Steelers were winning when he left the game and trubisky lost it.
His record is tied with Patrick Mahomes as first in the NFL.
This is with his #wr Diontae Johnson missing 7 games this year, his top TE Freiermuth missing 5 games last year and 2 this year during picketts starts, and the Steelers having a defense in the lower half.
Also Pickett had 5 dropped TD passes this year. The next highest had 3!
I would think Pickett is a B? Guy started, won, and looks poised and polished, has a 4th quarter qbr of 103.6, guy is a winner.
I’m interested in seeing what Pickett does with a real OC this year, not to mention the inevitable line help that’s coming via free agency/draft
As a Ravens fan, the draft class we had in 2022 was and is generational. Linderbaum and Hamilton are All-Pros, Isaiah Likely has become a beast, and Jordan Stout is eventually going to get an All-Pro under his belt. The scary thing is that this class could be even better. David Ojabo and Travis Jones have shown flashes of what they can be. If both of them stay healthy, especially Ojabo they could really wreak havoc on their opponents. I know everyone gave us grief for trading away Marquise Brown on Draft Night, but considering how one-sided that trade has been especially with how good Linderbaum and Stout are they made a big mistake judging EDC's thinking.
Creed Humphrey is the next best center in the league. Oh wait he already is the best center in the league

The Kenny Pickett hype from Steelers fans was hilarious. If browns fans are unanimously saying your QB is not good, you might wanna take their word for it.
As a Ravens fan, while I won't regret getting Lindenbaum, a part of me wished we had taken George Karlaftis, mainly cause the Ravens lack a true consistent #1 edge rusher, not since the days of Terrell Suggs. Don't get me wrong, Madubuike absolutely earned his upcoming payday, but when it comes to attacking the QB from the edge, our options are very lacking. I'm still waiting for Oweh to shift into the next gear, and Ojabo just can't escape the injury bug. Plus, when you look at the edge rushers in the AFC North (Myles Garrett for the Browns, TJ Watt and Alex Highsmith for the Steelers, Trey Hendrickson and Sam Hubbard for the Bengals), it makes no sense when we can't keep up with those guys to get to their QBs, especially since we have to face Joe Burrow twice every year.
And Elam is being out played and replaced by a 5th round player if I remember the round right

In my head I had a C- for Cole Strange before you said it and I think your analysis is dead on. He has the potential to be a B guard, but was drafted way too early (as was the case for most of the Patriots' picks in 2022.
"the initial thought may be injury with Elam", yes thats the ACTUAL correct take, dude spent more than half the season with a nagging foot injury. yes he was healthy scracthed when he came back from IR but we had already traded for rasul douglas. its been disappointing but dont lie about what happened to his season, he was hurt, plain and simple for the majority of it.
Dax Hill is a Dawg for Cincinnati but I do think they need put him at nickel or Slot when mike Leaves

We can’t fully judge these players YET some of these players have had horrible coaching and in the right scheme some of these players can grow into stars it’s just about work
If i were to grade pickett, it would be a D- due to his stats going on his 3rd year, understanding he was also injured last season.
I really wish we had gotten to see Kenny all the way through those games against the Cardinals, Patriots, and Colts idk if we would have won those, but we would at least know for sure how good/bad Kenny is without Canada. That first game against the Bengals looked promising. But also the beginning of the Cardinals game looked pretty bad. And now we have all of this drama around the qb position with Mason Fields and Pickett. This next season is about to be TOXIC

I know it says 32 through 1 but will you stat including teams that don't have first round draft picks? Not their best selection but like their first selection they made? I feel like teams especially like Cleveland have been having a great draft outside of the first round.
I feel like Cole Strange is honestly incomplete, at least with how often you like to hand out that grade. He was hurt most of 2023, and it was pretty known he was a raw prospect. I do agree it’s a make or break year.

I’m glad the Steelers picked Pickett. I couldn’t stand the games Trubisky played. The other qbs taken in the first few rounds have already been replaced and are not starters.
Nobody cares what I have to think, but I'll add my thoughts at the time of some of the prospects I had strong opinions of.
I thought Karlaftis would be a rotational guy. I was wrong.
I LOVED Wyatt. I thought he could be a stud splitting double teams. He's been solid but I thought he'd be more impactful.
I wanted Seattle to take Jermaine Johnson Jr at #9. Thought he'd be a dog. He's been about as good as I thought.
As a UW Husky fan, I did think that McDuffie would be a good solid starter in the NFL, he's been better than I thought.
Kenny Pickett is who I thought he was.
I didn't like Penning as a prospect at all, figured he'd struggle in pass protection.
Elam has stated he's suffered from self-doubt/anxiety. Still, he's too handsy and gets flagged for PI or holding on most of his defensive plays. I'm really disappointed how he turned out. Thought he'd develop into a shut down corner. He'll either be traded or cut. Waste of a 1st round pick.
Its insane how the cowboys consistently draft future hall of fame offensive lineman but can’t seem to find a decent interior defensive lineman lmao
Devin Lloyd is much closer to being a B- than being an A-.
