James Gandolfini got a call one night from a real mobster and told him that he liked the show and they also told him “A don doesn’t wear shorts” so they decided to put that in the show
3:05 technically they did change the intro, but they only removed one shot where the twin towers were visible. In fact, I believe this episode actually happens to be the episode where they removed it. On Wikipedia it says "Army of one" (s.3 ep. 13) was the last episode to feature the twin towers in the intro.
Also, I kinda think it's dark that Chris didn't flinch at the idea of Tony making up the story about his Dad bc he wants the cop dead. At this point Chris doesn't exactly trust Tony and feels like he's being used; so the fact he didn't think of it to be a crazy idea is kinda sad.
@@FriendRequestReviews Facts! Lol. I’m from New York so I pick up on these little things. I’m pretty sure an actual boss was caught on a wire saying that. Not sure if it was J Gotti or someone else lol
I read somewhere that when the producer of the show was researching the Mob a real ex Boss that he was using as a consultant told him that. After seeing Tony at a cookout wearing shorts on one of the episodes.
Break it down for them Sil. Historically, in times of financial crises, 2 businesses are not affected. Certain aspects of the entertainment industry, and our thing
Gandolfini got a call from an unidentifiable boss of one of the five families out of the blue. The caller wanted to tell him that he loved the show but Tony wearing shorts as a boss was not accurate. Bosses never wear short pants, shorts are for little boys.
The guy who snitching that y’all can’t remember his name is Raymond. He’s a capo (captain). In season 1 Tony tried to throw boss at him when Jackie was dying and the captains decided Junior.
That comment "a don doesnt wear shorts" is from a REAL phone call that came to the actor who plays Tony in the middle of the night from an "unknown number". It creeped him out, he told show staff about it and they wrote it into the show. There is more detail to it, but too much to type here. The actor that plays Christopher spoke on it.
Normally you would have a boss, an underboss (kinda like a vp) and a consigliere. The Sopranos have two bosses one de facto in Tony and that little lightning rod on the side Junior Johnny Sack is an example of an underboss, he would become boss if his Carmine died and didn't have a suitable male heir that had skin in the game. I don't think Sil would be first choice to take control as he's more the advisor type role. Officially Junior is still alive and would technically be the boss though damn near everyone knows he isn't a boss. But the Sopranos don't have an underboss, probably because of their size. When Di Meo (the namesake of the family) went inside years before episode 1 Jackie took control because he had the influence and respect + the most scratch regardless of Junior's standing Jackie Aprile became boss. So the answer is the guy with the most influence would take over if Tony went down.
episode always fucks me up pondering whether Tony is just straight up lying about the retiring cop being the person who carried out the hit on Christopher's father...
1st episode ... Tony walking out for his paper.. Georgie getting smacked again.. lol... the cash on the fridge zooming in on the eye=the FBI watching Tony and his guys...
Interesting fact: Georgie the bartender, that Tony is always beating up, is the owner of the real strip club where they shoot the Bada Bing scenes at.. He plays a dummie in the show but is actually a successful business owner in New Jersey!!
I don’t think season 4 is as good as 1, 5, 6b, 2. But it might be my favorite season to rewatch because the acting is so strong, and there’s a lot of great character moments.
Tony is a Master manipulatator! He manipulated Christopher into thinking that he found his father's killer! But if you watch the scene with Tony and Dr. Melphi. he basically confessed to her that he found a way to get his nephew to build a closer bond between both of them. 😉
lol you're right, but predictions are deep in this channels genetics. It's all fun and games for the most part, but you're right, this and The Wire has embarrassed me plenty already lol.
Because if you watch many saints of Newark yes Chris’s father was killed carrying in tv trays but he was loved by the family there was no reason for another family or the Newark family to whack him and it was so out of the blue it had to be a cop because if it was a family member or a different family’s member he was a made man so it would have needed approval first which their was no mention of. So I believe whole heartedly it was the nyc police and that it was kept on the low til either he wasn’t of use anymore or until he retired like they showed and then I believe Tony threw Chris a bone with that to make Chris and to pull Chris closer to tony. so like tony did was give how orders to Chris instead of ppl who werent family bc of how high rank guys acted paying dues to Carmela while tony was in a coma and how she could tell guys jumped at the chance to be king even tho sil stated he didn’t want it he couldn’t handle a small period in time. And since aj wasn’t near tough enough for that life style the only blood family he had to turn to was Chrissy. It could have been the blacks that chrises father controlled but they did t wear suits and his dad whacked them for skimming the skin. So it wasn’t them it had to be the cops or what’s his face in prison in many saints of Newark put a hit out on him bc he was bringing tony under his wing into the family after his father in prison told him to stay away. But I’d lean towards the police
Nope! It may seem like that since we're watching both shows at the same time, but it's impossible to shade The Wire. That show is absolutely phenomenal! If anything we send most of our shade towards Power, even though we enjoy that show as well.
You know Quasimodo predicted FRR bringing that energy
Yeah, the quarterback of Notre dame.
He was a fortune teller? I had a kid in my ESL class named Quasimodo.
James Gandolfini got a call one night from a real mobster and told him that he liked the show and they also told him “A don doesn’t wear shorts” so they decided to put that in the show
Yeah and Alot of it was based off the jersey mob they got a documentary that the soprano was after
@Strani Plaćenik bro Michael Imperioli ( Christopher Moltisanti) and Steve Shirripa (Bobby) said that story i said
@Strani Plaćenik alr lil bro
You guys are the realest sopranos fans I've seen reacting. You actually pay attention. Salute!
We definitley try. Between this and the other shows, sometimes we get mixed up, so it feels good to hear that we're doing well at paying attention.
27:27 That was a real life photo of Michael Imperioli and his dad

Tony Sirico (Paulie) had back surgery around the start of production on S4, so Chase wrote him that smaller role to let him heal.
It worked out pretty well story-wise I would say, giving an extra reason for Paulie's resentment to grow in jail and cause him to talk to Johnny.
You are the best sopranos reactors! Just amazing!
“i wish i was microdosing” LMAO i know i’m in for a good time when yall got me cracking up early 😂😂😂
“ I did what!? I revealed my own what!? “
“With me it’s never a gamble.” Junior 😂
One minor change they made to the intro was the removal of the Twin Towers (this was the first post-9/11 episode).
“A DON DOESN’T WEAR SHORTS” - Carmine… Classic! 🤌🤣
lol such a confusing statement as a first time viewer lol

Lol Uncle Jun has the best lines in the show
Silvio is the Consiglieri, so he's closer to underboss than anyone else

Wow I forgot Ade brought that fbi agent into TONY'S HOUSE during family dinner. Absolutely insane

I'd have been fooled by Danielle as well. Yowsa.

RAYMOND lol! That's literally the last name that would ever go through my head 😂. I'll try to remember from now on.
Y’all are one of the best reaction channels fasho! Keep it up! Y’all gonna blow up
we appreciate the support!

ok ok, makes sense

Really enjoy you guys commentary and take on the show. Keep up the good work! 👍
"Let me tell you something. Or you can watch the fuckin news. Everything comes to an end."
The writing still strong in this show.
Hard as hell watching you guys. One episode at a time is like someone offering you one Doritos. Things really start ramping up from here on out.
That was a real pic of Michael Imperioli as a baby and his father
Ahh shit here we go again, time to grab some gabbagol.
I dont know why but that "nah, thats some foolish shit right there" cracked me the hell up

Bralik hasn't watched Gladiator neither... I feel like we should shame him because of that.
Does he think Oscah winnin movies grow on trees? @@FriendRequestReviews
They changed the visuals of the Intro with the Absence of the Twin Towers due to 9/11
Dante is Tony’s number one.
Jesus Christ Ralf, Janice!!!!????? Their are men in the can better looking then Tony's Sister 14:43

Yeah they changed the intro..they pulled the twin towers. Should never have done that.🤔😤😎
Reminds me of that tragedy
A great show I’d like to recommend to you; Succession! Its just incredible.

Oh, I forgot she's married to the voice of Bojack Horseman.

Start on season 4 ep.2. Gets really good last three seasons.
The series is extremely unpredictable. Don't assume. You'll be embarrassed.

New Jersey is a part of New England
according to Google: Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island, are the 7 states that make up New England.
You learn something new every day
I love the ending. And I believe the whole cop thing was real especially after watching many saints of newark

After y'all finish the Sopranos pls watch The Many Saints of Newark, some questions will be answered but after u finish the series😊
That's the prequel movie?
@@FriendRequestReviews yes and it was good I think yall will like it too😊
hope you're not throwing shade at the wire for changing their intro - each one fits the institution of the season, its done intentionally.

A Don wears wtf he wants.
That was the dumbest line in the whole show.
A real mobster told
That to Tony and they put it in so is it still dumb now
